This has got to be the most interesting liquor store I've ever stepped foot in. In my life hahaha. Right off the bat the outside is a big blue building on like a triangle sort of corner. There was a taco truck in front too! Probably so perfect for so late night munchin. Going into the store there's a lot going on with interesting decor. As soon as I spotted the disco ball, my friend (the local :D) asked the store manager if they still played music and that it was my first time. And the store manager was like "For you? YES!" It's usually tiny bottles of alcohol (can be either darks/lights) mixed with juices or energy drinks. I can never remember what I get here, but there are several drinks that I do like. I think it might've been called pink panties or some kinda jolly rancher...idk, with all the crazy names they've got for each and every one, it's hard to remember! Once you choose which hood drink you want, you get a styrofoam cup filled with ice and a straw for you to personally mix your drinks in. It's kinda nice that they give you that option just so you can adjust the alcohol to juice ratio to your liking! Free lollipop every time. The drinks range from $8-20. It really depends on what's in it. I usually like the drinks that have some sort of watermelon in them (I think one was called jolly rancher...somethin like that) since it makes it taste like watermelon jolly rancher! Usually drinks with energy drinks taste pretty good too. If you're looking for a place in SF with these so called hood drinks, I know there's a small liquor store somewhere on San Bruno Ave that has the same concept. One of my best friends bought me one from that one on my birthday and it was actually my fave out of everything I've tried! Don't remember the name but it was a green apple Rockstar/Monster mixed with all the flavors of ciroc. The people who work there are so upbeat/ecstatic about their job. Owners of Hillside Market are also super nice and they have good low prices on liquor. Everyone gets treated like family when they walk in. Lots of friendly local people that come and also there is a taco truck outside incase you are hungry. One thing that sets them apart is that they make these really cool kits for a discounted price in a zip lock bag that people just go and grab. They also have big collection of different types of hard liquors from Patron, Don Julio, Remy VSOP, Hennesey VSOP, Ciroc, Belevedere, and much more different types of liquors that I had never tried. Where the Bay has the word "hella" or "yee!" or "it's lit!"... we also came up with hood drinks. The Bay calls it "Hood drinks" are basically mixes of liquor with a juice usually and in a plastic ziplock bag under different names on the drinks for whatever you appeal to. I had gotten the Frisco and Gangster Colada. The gangster colada is pineapple juice, a lot a lot of Hennessy, and two shots of Malibu Pina Colada. Which I loved but I do think Frisco was better. Frisco has a sweet taste where Gangster Colada had a more Hennessey with Pineapple taste. I forgot what was in Frisco though but I had chugged Frisco before a raiders game and boyyyy was I DONZO. Drinks can be a little expensive, but with each drink you already get atleast 5 shots. So it's pretty worth it in my opinion. The owners are very sweet and if you come in at night, they have a disco ball on and lights are off and they play music on blast and just are having a great time. read more

As a Bay Area native, there's always gonna be a special little place in my heart for the hyphy movement, Mac Dre, ....and of course, the blue store. The blue store's main appeal lies in its hood drankz -- ziplock bags stuffed with mini bottles of liquor and mixers toting names like Wet Pussy, SF Bay Water, and Gangsta's Paradise, to name a few. Definitely always interesting to see what kinds of names and combinations they come up with and even more interesting to try them out! Prices range from $7-$20ish, but some are a better deal than others. The ones with more juice and fruity flavors seem to be more expensive than the liquor heavy options, so I guess the price really just depends on your preference. Each purchase comes with a large ice filled styrofoam cup so you can mix your drink to your liking ....and/or subtlety drink in public.
