The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere with a Mediterranean-inspired menu that includes Italian, Spanish, Greek, and French influences. We visited for brunch, and the à la carte menu had a great mix of both savoury and sweet options. What we enjoyed the most was the relaxed atmosphere, which made it easy to take our time and enjoy a comfortable, unhurried brunch.

They had an awesome breakfast omelette station with a very nice chef. The options for breakfast were plentiful and some items changed every day. On our last night, we decided to try their dinner menu. I had the Seafood Fettuccine & my mom had the grilled mahi mahi. Wasn't much of a fan of the grilled mahi mahi but it was a very healthy and well-balanced dish. The seafood fettuccine I had was so good though. So creamy with hints of tomato and perfectly fused seafood flavor from the generous amounts of seafood they put in the pasta. Mussels, salmon, and shrimp is what I recall was in there. The food isn't cheap but it's what you'd expect from a hotel restaurant. The place is really spacious; tons of seating. The workers are nothing but friendly as well.

We ordered Nonna Lynn's Meatballs, the short-rib gnocchi, and the pulled-pork tacos to share. The meatballs were the highlight. They were very tender, and the tomato sauce was genuinely flavorful. The herbed ricotta worked really well with them, and the toasted bread had a light touch of garlic. We would definitely order these again. The short-rib gnocchi was also very good. The beef was tender, the sauce was rich and savory, and there was a generous amount of short rib. One of us loved it as-is, while the other found it slightly on the salty side, but overall it was a very enjoyable dish. The pulled-pork tacos were the disappointment. They looked great and came with plenty of toppings, but both of us independently felt that the pork itself lacked flavor. With better-seasoned pork, these could have been much better. The service was pleasant., faster food delivery. For a airport restaurant the ambience is enjoyable though the place could get very crowded during lunch hours Overall, this was a good airport meal and better than we were expecting. If we were flying through the U.S. gates at Pearson again, we'd happily come back--but next time we'd order the meatballs and gnocchi and skip the tacos.

I ordered the pork tacos, and they were packed with flavor. My husband ordered the gnocchi, and it completely blew our minds, it was absolutely delicious. Overall, this place was such a pleasant surprise, and I really enjoyed the experience.

The pre-packaged stuff is the same brand sold everywhere else in the airport. Anyway, I've tried to order hot sandwiches from the breakfast and lunch menu at least twice, maybe three times, but I just get told that they don't have it. Before, I've just gone elsewhere, but this time, when I asked about the Mediterranean sandwich, they suggested a vegetarian panini instead and I decided to go for it since that was still the sort of thing I wanted. I think it was the same as the veggie sandwich that Boccone sells, but it was a good sandwich with fresh vegetables, good bread (kind of like a fluffier/thicker flatbread), and of a substantial size. $15 for a veggie sandwich is too much but I'd still recommend this (or the one from Boccone) on the basis of quality as you're not going to find a better deal in the airport unless you go for fast food. The staff is usually nice and the line moves reasonably fast.

Thought we'd drop by to see how it compares to the main lounge upstairs. It is small, you have to line up for coffee, which was a bit annoying. Yes, there is a proper bar where a bartender will pour you a drink but again you line up and if it's busy you'll be waiting. There is a large refrigerator case of plastic take away and brown box grab and go small bites and wraps, etc but it feels somewhat like a 7-Eleven. It does not look super appetizing but I do concede that there are more take away options than upstairs which have no take out containers. I guess this is designed for non business class flyers who don't get or want the onboard food selection? It is new and the contemporary decor is a welcome change from the somewhat tired appearance of the main lounge, but it is a small cafe with a limited number of tables and seating (some at the bar). It's worth a visit but if it's a high traffic period unlikely you'll find a seat.

The cafe itself was very good but what made it not a five star experience was the check in person working at the front. She really ruined the experience for us right from the start with her constant huffing and puffing expressing her annoyance with our group. She did not leave a great first impression for this cafe prior to entering - thank goodness the cafe made up for it with it's comfort, variety and concept. You can get things like drinks, cheese, oats, fruit, wraps, veggies, salads, and more - all already packed in their to go containers. Definitely worth checking out!

Unlike the other eateries around the terminal I was in, Tim Hortons provided an affordable option, from more savory meals, which I was surprised to learn they had, to its famous donuts. I ordered just a sour cream old fashioned donut as a dessert/snack and I enjoyed it. The texture of the donut was moist, and at first I didn't know what to expect with the sour cream flavor; but I liked it. It had hints of a sour taste, but worked well with the glaze on the donut. For the best selection of donuts you have to get here early. I visited during the evening and they were out of most donuts and pastries. However, it's nice to know after visiting this location that they serve savory meals like chicken sandwiches with fries, in addition to what they're known for...just in case I get a long layover in Toronto again.
