Dining space

- Large restaurant inside YYZ Airport (Terminal 1) offering both dine-in and take-out options - Spacious, well-kept dining area with plenty of seating, making it a comfortable and relatively calm spot for a pre-flight meal; separate take-out counter located to the right - Service stood out--staff were friendly, patient, and helpful as we navigated the menu for our order - Take-out order was thoughtfully and securely packaged - Food was overall enjoyable with some inconsistencies: gnocchi with beef short rib ragu was hearty and savory, though the gnocchi leaned a bit too dense; fish and chips featured a generously sized piece of cod, but the batter was noticeably greasy; maple mustard roasted salmon was the standout--perfectly cooked with a rich, umami-forward sauce, complemented well by mashed sweet potatoes and crispy asparagus; strawberry cheesecake (packaged in its ramekin) was slightly too sweet - A solid airport dining option with welcoming service and a comfortable atmosphere, though a few dishes could benefit from better balance and execution

Due to a flight delay at YYZ, we were given food vouchers so we had lunch at The Hearth. Hubby and I asked for medium-rare burgers, and both received well-done burgers. I suspect that they can't cook them to order, but they charge cooked-to-order prices. Quite frankly, the only saving grace is that they sell Rush beer, which I love, and I bought the glass it came in.

Western Omelette and Cafe Latte

Went to The Hearth by Chef Lynn Crawford in Terminal 1 of Toronto Pearson International Airport to have breakfast before my early morning flight. As usual it is busy at this time of the day with all the morning flight passengers. The hostess finally seated me at the bar, which is fine even though I don't drink. I just want to have my morning coffee and breakfast. The server at the bar promptly welcomed me and offer her services. I looked at the menu and ordered a Cafe Latte and the Western Omellete breakfast. The coffee was served first, and the Omelette was served so much later. I know it was busy but when my omellete was served, my coffee was cold already. The food and coffee was good though, and the staff at the bar was nice and friendly. The place was nice, cozy and fast paced, it was constantly full the whole time I was here. They have a full bar so it's a plus for alcohol drinkers in the morning. It was a good breakfast, and a nice play to stay while waiting for my flight: Check it out!

Went back to Pearson airport and got the chicken sandwich with fries. I had to indulge. Was ok. The chicken was crispy. Should've gotten something healthier. Employees were very nice and attentive. Busy spot.

Ordered the beet salad at the YYZ airport on my recent trip. I figured I'll be indulging during the rest of my meals, it was good to get some more fibre and greens ahead of it all. The restaurant was about half full maybe. However, it took awhile for them to even come over to take my order and also to cash me out. So 45 mins from my flight was a bit tight but it all worked out even though my gate was all the way the end of the aisle. I wouldn't say the salad was super impressive or anything but it met my expectations (I didn't have that high since it's airport food). There's also an option to add protein. Though instead I got booster juice nearby to get my protein fix.

I came here for a 4AM breakfast as I entered through security and customs rather quickly. The seater was incredibly friendly and I really appreciated her kindness at such an early time. The server wasn't as kind and was a bit slow. It was steady but not busy. I would have thought things would've moved more quickly with this being an airport restaurant. Chill vibes and kinda expensive for what it is. I asked for the hollandaise sauce on the side in case I didn't like it but it came normal. I tried the sauce and kept the meal as is once I determined I liked it. It kept me full and I had no issues using my meal voucher from the day prior. The server wasn't able to check that it worked or the amount beforehand. Luckily I had enough for my meal and tipped in cash. Thank you Air Canada!

Bagel and lox 0/10
Damiana D.

A disappointing final meal in Canada. I ordered the bagel and lox, but the smoked salmon was unmistakably farm-raised--something I didn't expect from Canada... Unfortunately, the food wasn't the only letdown. My server, Kamal, was inattentive, careless, and slow. It took over 20 minutes for her to take my order, and I had to ask twice for a side of cream cheese before finally flagging her down to get it. The experience worsened when I asked to split the bill between two credit cards for work purposes--she told she didn't know how to do it and asked me to just pay with one. I had to insist she find someone to help her. Save yourself the frustration and dine elsewhere.

This was my second time dining at Hearth. It is right at the entrance of Concourse F after border security clearance. Pretty large space, got a big bar in the middle. It is the only full dining restaurant in the section, so it is always packed. The menu is short with limited appetizers and entrees. This time I got the salmon. It took a while for the food to come out, but it was well prepared. My Sprite had no fizz and tasted like bland sugar water. Both times I experienced ordinary service here. The waiter came, took my order, brought my food, and gave me the check.

Eggs Benny. The hollandaise was one of the worst I've ever tasted
Elaine K.

Service was average but the food was extreme underwhelming. The hollandaise of the eggs Benny did not taste good. The fries were ok. The cappuccino was also mediocre barely any coffee flavour. Would not recommended.

Poutine

A great spot if you need a decent meal before a flight to the US. On this layover, on Canada Day, I enjoyed their heaping plate of poutine. Well made, great mix of curds and gravy on fresh fries. Service was excellent. Our waiter did not push us too quickly and let us enjoy our meal at pace while we waited for our flight. Extra bonus points for having Henderson Brewery's Rush beer on tap!

peameal ham sandwich

We had a great meal at the airport before flying home from Toronto. One very last poutine, peameal Canadian ham sandwich, and a flatbread pizza. The poutine was delicious with a great mix of curds and gravy on fresh fries. It was nice to finally try a Canadian ham sandwich since we ran out of time on this trip. The flatbread pizza was almost like a salad with a lots of rocket/arugula on top. Overall we had a nice meal here during our 2 hours wait for our flight. We actually sat a little longer because our flight was delayed by 30 mins and our waitress did not rush us at all.

Maple salmon. Hard dry and served over cold asparagus.
Benay K.

Meh. Hostess is unfriendly and unwelcoming. Waiter(Rahul) was very friendly. He told me my meal would take 20 minutes and it did. Unfortunately I could not get the check for another 25 minutes, I almost needed to dine and dash in order to catch my flight. I had to wave down two servers to get someone to let him know I needed to go. I ordered the maple salmon $35 it was Hard, dry and really needed tgat sauce to make it edible. The asparagus stalks were actually cold.

Already I have my judgement and second thoughts... maybe as a local, I should check out somewhere else? As we entered this side door, the sign said we needed reservations to be seated. We knocked on the door and asked, they accommodated us. Vaccine passport checked. There's also outdoor seating available, though there's no shade. The place was dead. We were the only customers... we didn't know that until we stepped in, so we were committed at that point. Not the type of vibe that's very welcoming when it's dead and the doors don't look opened. We ordered the cheese steak and fries (sushi-grade steak on the menu) $19. The special that day was the 1lb of wings for $15 that comes with fries or salad. Regularly, the wings don't come with a side. I like the sauce with the wings, tequila chipotle with lime. The server was also attentive, but like I said, we were the only ones there! The food is okay! The salad is fresh, and the fries are crispy. The menu is a standard pub affair and the decor leaves me wanting something more exciting. Oh, there's a check-in offer for a free dessert, which I missed, so please take advantage of it. As a traveller at the hotel, you'll be satisfied with the food. As a local, nothing really stood out to go out of my way for a revisit.

The ambiance was quiet, but when we asked to have the curling game on (since we were watching it in our room), the waitress told us they couldn't because they lost the remote. She claimed changing the channel would affect all the TVs, but I'm not sure if that was the real reason. When we asked for a drink menu, we were told they no longer had one. The waitress didn't offer any alternatives or even mention what they had available. I just ordered a Rum and Coke and some beef nachos. The nachos were $20, but the beef was overcooked and tasted like it had been reheated from earlier. My mother-in-law's chicken Caesar salad also tasted old and rubbery. This is a place we've stayed at frequently, but after seeing issues from our last visit in October still unresolved (like a urinal covered with a garbage bag), it's clear they don't care about upkeep or quality. The waitress was okay, but that's about the only positive I can say. There are other, much better options nearby--save your time and money and go somewhere else.

The same woman became our waitress. She was extremely attentive, friendly, and able to answer all of our questions. The cocktails we ordered were good & served in a timely manner, but slightly overpriced. We ordered a "shareable platter." It had ribs, breaded wings, fries, & chicken tenders. PLENTY OF FOOD! We did not finish it. The taste was average, though. ** The olives in my dirty martini were very old and bruised. The lemon served as garnishment on my husband's bourbon and Coke was old/crusty and had no juice.

After work today, I was picking up a beverage order at Starbucks and noticed that this Harvey's was open. It has taken over the store that was Fresh Burger, and is between Chipotle and Sunset Grill. I thought that I would order a meal through the Harvey's app on my phone. I'd then fetch it at the eatery and sit down to enjoy it. I placed my order in my car, parked at Circle K, which was across the street. I took advantage of the angus burger combo for $8.99 before taxes, which had the following: - Angus burger on a multigrain bun - Onion rings - Diet Pepsi (I upgraded to a large) for $0.50 I got word that it would be ready in fifteen minutes. It was enough time for me to redeem some coupons at Circle K and then drive over to Harvey's. I ended up with a prime parking spot steps away from both Chipotle and Harvey's. I backed into the spot and walked in. There was a man sitting down at a table on the right. I headed straight to the counter and got a cheerful, bubbly woman. I let her know that I was picking up a takeout order and said my first name. Her colleague nodded and fetched my order in a paper bag. I thanked both of them and found a table. I sat down and had dinner, watching CP24 on the screen. The angus burger was delicious. It had garlic mayo, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, and relish. The multigrain bun was soft and held everything together. It was fantastic! My Diet Pepsi was okay. It didn't have enough Diet Pepsi syrup from the fountain machine. I should have stuck with the regular size. I loved my onion rings. They were crispy and naturally sweet. I dipped them in ketchup. I used the washroom before I headed home. There are two single stalls. One was wheelchair-accessible. I used the regular one. It was clean. What I loved about it was a little shelf that I used to place my drink on it. Nice! I'm happy that there's this eatery by my workplace. It's a nice change from having McDonald's in the area when I crave a burger. Welcome, Harvey's! It's a beautiful thing. (327)

Our development team at work booked a lunch here a month ago. Unfortunately, I couldn't attend. My intern felt odd going without me and decided to pass. Recently, we both had some intense reconfiguration work to do. I suggested that we order lunch in. I seem to be the only one on our team who likes to plan mini lunches like this one. He was so happy and suggested that we order from Union Social Eatery. Done! This eatery is on Uber Eats and Skip the Dishes. I went with the latter because delivery was free over $20 and we knew that we could achieve this goal. Deciding what to order was tough. We ultimately decided on these items and that we'd share some items: - Garlic shrimp tacos - Korean pulled pork tacos - Philly steak naan wrap with truffle fries - Key lime cheesecake jars I was in taco mode. He wanted the Philly steak naan wrap. I shared whichever taco he wanted. He shared his truffle fries. The food was delivered fast. It was impressive. All food was carefully packed. Again, we were impressed. I asked my intern which taco he wanted. He wasn't fussy. He went for the garlic shrimp one. We both enjoyed it. I was thrilled to get such big, fresh shrimp. The garlic was subtle, but worked well with all the flavours happening. The soft taco shells were perfect and held everything together nicely. The Korean pulled pork tacos were incredible. So many depths of flavour happening in each bite! I loved the slaw with the seasoned pulled pork. I liked these tacos even more. My intern had the Philly steak naan wrap. He absolutely enjoyed it and polished it off. He loved how tender the steak was and said the naan went nicely with it. He shared his truffle fries that came with his wrap. I absolutely love truffle oil. Put it on fries and I am a huge fan. We had the key lime cheesecake jars for dessert. My intern had it with whipped cream. I opted to not have any on mine. It was good, although it wasn't aesthetically pleasing having it scooped messily into styrofoam containers. I liked the toasted coconut. I felt like it needed something more, though. We were happy ordering from here. We want to go dine in the restaurant next time when work isn't crazy and try more items off the menu. (92)
