This was our first time here as previously, we rescued our Aussie from the Love Joy Foundation in Inglewood. Initial impressions were that the staff took immense pride in their job and that the animals were very well cared for. The neat and organized board of visuals of the the up-for-adoption pets (dogs / cats / critters) was a unique touch I had never seen at another shelter. As the person in the relationship who has never owned a cat, I felt as though I was at a huge disadvantage in both advocating on behalf of our Aussie but also facilitating a compatible future partner in crime. Given that we were understandably unable to facilitate a meet and greet with both pets, I am very appreiciative of Christine, who helped us as she was both incredibly kind and patient with me, taking the time to provide thoughtful answers to all the questions and concerns I had. it was very reassuring being able to lean into Christine.

The ladies that run the shop are all volunteers and they are each so sweet and helpful! You can also make an offer when it comes to items which is nice too! Now for the not so happy part....I saw a very brief post a couple of months back about a dog that ACPB had adopted out but came back to them as a stray and was injured! I was beyond upset as ACPB knows exactly who adopted the dog and should be able to find out why this little guy came back a stray and injured no less! The post was taken down very quickly so I still have no idea what happened to the poor little guy but I honestly feel like ACPB should be checking up on their adopted pets and making sure they are in good loving homes. We have had our new baby since march 29th now and no one has reached out to see if our baby is happy and healthy. I'm very saddened there is no follow up for these beautiful dogs/puppies

My dogs used to go to I dig my dog, but I stopped after an incident wherein my dogs had been peed on and attacked by a larger dog. I think any place that you choose is fine so long as the staff and the place resonates with you; for me, Dogtopia is that place. I absolutely love Dogtopia! Every month they provide you with a calendar of events, and you can take themed photographs of your dogs or do arts and crafts. My only complaint is that sometimes I feel like I am overcharged for the photographs, considering my dogs are in the photo together. However, the fact that they take the time and effort to do these projects with the dogs is so cute and appreciated. The boys also love going and every time we drive by, or pull up to the driveway they get really excited. I have left them overnight a couple of times and I have had no issues. Dogtopia provides kibble for them, and they also cook food for the dogs. Or you have the option of bringing your own food for them. I also really love that they provide you with a little report card whenever the dogs get boarded. There is an app so you can schedule when you want your dog to come in, and you can schedule grooming or spa appointments. There was an incident once where my dog had his nail cut a little too much and was bleeding. Dogtopia did let me know, and I appreciated that they took the time to remedy the situation. I was even offered a free day of daycare because of having to take my dog to the vetveterinarian. I feel like they really care about my dogs, and they know their names as soon as my boys arrive in. They are also aware of who is picking them up and who is on your emergency contact list. Whenever my dogs have had any issues, I get phone calls. For example, Kennedy did have a seizure and I was immediately called. There was also a time where one of my dogs had a large hematoma, and Dogtopia did a good job at making sure that his wrapping stayed intact. It was nice to be able to have Carmichael still go to daycare, even though he was in medical treatment. The staff is really friendly and for the most part they do a good job at making sure everything stays clean. I love getting the weekly newsletters, but my favorite is getting photographs of my dogs. If only they provided more photos! Plus, I love watching my dogs on camera.

He absolutely loves the canine coaches and the fun, welcoming atmosphere. What I appreciate most is the structured and supervised environment..it gives me peace of mind knowing Finn is not only safe but also engaged throughout the day. The live webcams are such a great feature, and I love being able to check in on him during work. The entire team is caring, professional, and trustworthy. It means so much to have a reliable place where I know Finn is happy, safe, and well cared for. I'm truly thankful for Dogtopia East Pasadena and the wonderful staff who treat Finn like one of their own. Special thanks to Makayla, Matt and Destiny who are absolute superstars! Mocha was immediately curious about all the goodies and thoroughly explored the store. Brenda, the store owner, was incredibly sweet and offered Mocha various treats to try. Although he was initially shy, he eventually settled on one. Mocha also added a new squeaky toy to his growing collection because why not? Mocha loved the whole experience and we'll definitely be returning soon!

I had a scheduled volunteer day and time and woke up on time to go and i texted POC to confirm and they told me that the other volunteer wouldn't be in (if i didnt confirm with a text i probably would have shown up without notice) and i reached out to schedule another day and received no word. I would say i am fairly patient and understanding person with rescues because they are so busy but i would recommend for this rescue to have a dedicated staff member to help volunteers and have a calendar put together and just be better organized. I unfortunately wont be volunteering here anymore. They are doing good work but im bummed because i did want to volunteer here but as a person that values organization it just didnt fit.

There's probably reason that they didn't pick you. A lot of pet need special care or particular family and can't go with just anyone. (Example, some pets are not good with kids). Remember this is a rescue and not a breeder. If they try so hard to save an animal, they don't want the chance for the pets to be returned/dumped if the family find out it's not a good fit. I understand people might not be happy since they are not qualified but didn't need to leave a bad review just for that...after all we all love animals and just want them to find a good home to live happily ever after. We adopted two cuties today, they are a bonded pair, so rescue really want them to go as a pair. Most people only applied adoption for 1 cat, so we got selected. The rescue does everything in animal best interest, and thank you for giving us a chance and two beautiful kittens.
