The facility is spacious and staff are friendly. Every single person who works or volunteers at the rescue are like-minded people with a passion for the puppies and dogs that come through those doors. I personally adopted my now 2 year old dog from them over a year and a half ago and now I am fostering with them. There are so many different puppies and dogs to choose from that you will probably find what you're looking for through Pup Culture! Fostering has been very fulfilling for me after my 14 year old Yellow lab passed last year and I just haven't been ready to adopt again yet. Personally, fostering helps fill the empty gap left by her loss, gives my younger dog some good socialization with various other dogs which is helping to shape her into a well rounded dog, and helps save dog's lives in the process. Pup Culture also has different events such as Run Club, Hiking with the dogs, and sometimes fun little meet the dogs events at various places in Pasadena.

In the end one of…read morethe dogs I tried to adopt was harmed, in addition to me and my son because of how they mishandled everything. It was only 48 hours before getting this dog that the foster parent, not the rescue, informed me she had a prolapse rectum. The shelter didn't even know. Outside of being told she had a small cataract in her left eye, was told nothing else was wrong. In fact, the owner said she was "perfect.". This dog had dental disease, severe scarring in both ears and eyes to where she had limited vision and hearing. She was not potty trained at all. She was also severely underweight and could not handle a walk more than about four houses down my street. I agreed to take her with the understanding she would get the prolapse surgery after I got her, paid for by the shelter. The owner continued to disagree with every vet that saw her to talk about the surgery. No vet wanted to operate on her because she was malnourished and it was unclear why she was not able to gain any weight. All three vets said she should go on a hydrolyzed protein diet. The owner of the shelter refused stating the only food I could feed her was farmers dog. Finally after two months, the owner said I could put her on hydrolyzed protein food and she started gaining some weight. She had to get an ultrasound before the hospital would agree to do the surgery at that point. It took six weeks for the shelter to connect with the hospital that did the ultrasound to talk about next steps for the surgery. By that point I had had this dog for over three months and was dealing with all of the stuff I mentioned above. Because of all that at some point, I decided I could not do it anymore. It was a very painful decision to make and the shelter, made it extremely hard for me in the end. They were difficult to communicate with. I agreed to just fly her back to LA myself and the plan then changed three different times. They said they would come get her on a certain day, then changed it to another day then I said I would just bring her like I had planned then they asked me to keep her until they could find a place for her even though they said they had a place for her to go. Long story short it was extremely hard. I will put pictures of the texts from the owner in the end, who told me to literally stop complaining. The amount of time and money I spent out of my own pocket on this dog was significant. I thought at least an apology would be given, when I asked for one, the worker at the shelter stayed silent on the phone. And then the owner told me to stop complaining as you can see in the text photos. I share this to warn other people about what you might go through if you try to adopt a dog through them.

How does that help us determine the dog's temperament or how he would interact with our current dog, all of which we disclosed to the rescue. When we told them what kind of dog we were interested in adopting they tired to bait and switch us to another dog. Completely unethical.

We have been going here since our senior dog was a puppy...long before the new management took…read moreover. In comparison, the new staff is not as warm and welcoming as the previous staff. It used to feel more like a family there. Now, they hardly speak to you, and you just sit there until they take you back. Everything is almost sterile. The emergency vet we saw a couple years ago was a warmer and more caring environment. I like that they have updated the exam rooms and facilities and they use a website that has a booking feature, which is convenient, but they are REALLY expensive. We thought it was expensive after his last wellness exam, but he really needed to get in to see someone, and we thought, "Why not stay where he has been since he was a puppy?" We just took him in for a vet tech appointment to renew his prescription. They said it would be an easy and quick appointment to get labs done. He also needed to do his updated rabies shot. The total was over $500. Even his prescription with them was $70 for a monthly supply of gabapentin. We did that twice before a friend of mine recommended using Chewy instead. We pay $4.80 for a month's supply (60 pills) of the same medication. The vet was nice when we met with her. She was kind to our very shy senior dog, but despite thinking she was great, it isn't enough to keep us at this veterinarian any longer.

They were wonderful. When they changed hands, I knew the new clinic would have big shoes to fill, but I was hopeful. They reopened in late 2025/early 2026 under new management. I am no longer hopeful. On my first visit a couple of months ago, not only was I left waiting for 30 minutes with an anxious dog in a completely empty clinic, but the hard-sell for services that I did not need was, to say the least, aggressive. When I asked what medical indication the vet had for her recommendations, she were not able to give a medically sound reason (she basically said "because I said so."). I decided to give them a second chance today with another vet in the practice. After 20 minutes waiting, again, with an anxious dog, I asked the receptionist when the vet would be in. She checked with the doctor, came in, and said momentarily as she was finishing her notes. I have no problem with that (because doctor), but does it need to be during my appointment time, when she is already late, and there is not a single other client in the building? After another 20 minutes without a word (so we're at 40 total) I got up and left. It was simply unfair to leave my dog in that anxious state. I will not be back. They are 0 for 2. Although the receptionist tried her best, I will also say they have her alone doing the job of what used to take 3 receptionists in the old clinic, so I have no idea how she is managing. Clearly customer service (between the dearth of staff and excessive wait times) is not their priority. I hate leaving negative reviews but I want my vet to care about my pet, not profit. I assume many of you feel the same.

We have a Dachshund that is particular (it takes her some time to warm up and she can be a handful at times). I came across Karen on Next Door - reached out and got a timely reply to set up some time for a meet & greet. We appreciated her quick response and willingness to let us stop by. She was very communicative when she had Lola - sent many pictures and updates of how she was getting along with the other dogs, if she was eating, how she was sleeping, etc. We really appreciated the detail and the care that she gave to our little pup. They sent regular updates and pictures and Jen was great at putting together coverage for a full week on short notice! A lot of people look for the cheapest option but there are 2 big benefits I see with investing in actual professionals - 1. We knew our pets were getting the best care so didn't feel guilty and 2. We had someone in the house while we were away. The second one was important to us because we were broken into when on a previous vacation (when we lived in same city a few houses away in a very safe neighborhood). The police told us keeping visible activity in and out of the house while gone can help prevent this. The cost for quality care was much less than the value of what was taken in that incident. When we returned our pets were obviously very well cared for. The sitters slept in our guest room but brought their own linens to use on top of ours so we wouldn't have to do laundry which I though my was extra thoughtful (though we would have been happy for them to use ours). Will be using them whenever we go away and highly recommend - just plan ahead so you can book them in advance! Bonus points for their text updates on the pets being hilarious

They explained our treatment options, kept me updated during her procedure, and provided very clear aftercare instructions. Dr. A also took the time to answer all of my questions and concerns. The staff called the next day to check on Belle's recovery. The cost was very reasonable and lower than some of the other pet hospitals we looked into. I would absolutely bring our dogs here again if we ever need urgent care. Thank you for taking such good care of our Belle!

I CALLED, they said they do see chicken and gave me the quote. I left work early, CALLED them again to give ahead up that I will be there in 30 mins, and rushed to the place. I got there and checked in. The front desk asked if I have been here are not. I said I've never been here and she continued to take down my infos BUT then she said that they are at max capacity and don't take new patients. Like... what? It is just frustrating because my hen is lethargic and I am very worried. I appreciate that they gave me other options of avian vet but it is 20 miles away from the location which makes 40 miles from my house. Also it is 5 mins before 6 PM so every where was closed! If I was told that they don't take new patients, I could have went to a different place. Don't get me wrong the staffs here seemed very nice but I would like my time to be respected.

One of our cats is quite shy and I was a little concerned that she would not even catch a glimpse of him while we were gone. Of course he sensed Rena's warmth and genuine care and concern, he warmed right up to her and she was sending me photos of him the very first day we were gone! Our other kitty loves to watch the birds outside and often tries to slip out the front door to join them if I'm not super careful. Rena understood this and I knew I didn't have to worry about my little feline escape artist with Rena watching her! Rena picked up our mail, scooped the litter box, and washed the kitty dishes. She offered to fill our bird feeders and would have done just about anything I asked. She is so positive and so helpful. What a treasure she is! I feel like we can travel without hesitation any time because we know that our cats will be well cared for with Pet Mama!
