Now be sure to git my good side, ya hear!?

Catherine of Homeless to Forever is patient, helpful and compassionate. About two years ago I knew I wanted a 4-legged critter in my life again (hadn't been since childhood). And though a website photo of this lil' pooch caught my attention for sure... at the time, I lived where my job was (a senior facility) and knew it wasn't an automatic slam dunk whether it would work out in that setting. Homeless to Forever was very open to me fostering which helped any concerns. Also I appreciated that Catherine was honest, she let me know that this wasn't going to be Pantelou ("LouLou") 's first rodeo, so to speak! She had been taken home by someone, but was RETURNED shortly after she chewed on a rug. While meeting LouLou for the first time, I noticed the student volunteers who walked by having such an affectionate interaction with her, that to me, said sumthin' about her. I'll never really know LouLou's full history...likely was NOT too pretty and yep she can be wary (and is little anxious especially during these times), but she IS the sweetest HOOT and we're 'ALL IN' with one another (fostering period, ancient history). And nope, she's NEVER chewed on any of my rugs! Much gratitude to Homeless to Forever (Rescue) Foundation!

I cannot say enough about this great rescue. Catherine, the founder and President does amazing rescues. She is so devoted and is a true angel. We adopted 2 of our dogs from Catherine. One of them was saved by minutes ...if Catherine was not there our little Poppy would have been euthanized. Jackee was running the streets in Monrovia when she was found and now we have her. We will always support Catherine and her rescue HOMELESS TO FOREVER!

I've been a foster parent for 7 years. The organizers really try to find good homes for pets they do take in. I have foster the older foster cats or cats that haven't gotten adopted quickly because it's harder for them to find homes. Some may be scared and don't do well in an enclosure or pet store. By giving them a home to enjoy, they relax and their true personalities come out. We go through phone interviews and home inspections to make sure these animals find their furever home. Consider adopting thru HTFF. The more we adopt out the more we can take in. Plus have a good experience working with a caring team.

Homeless to Forever is an amazing organization! My boyfriend and I were looking to adopt a dog and Catherine introduced to the sweetest chihuahua, Lola. We fell in love immediately. Catherine made it so simple for us to adopt her and provided us with her full history. Thank you Catherine for bringing this precious little one in our life.

Made sure the bath was elevated for ease as my dogs are small. Even warned us of a German Shepard getting blow dried before we got started. They've got all the amenities, from towels, shampoo & conditioner (you're welcome to bring your own) and a variety of deshedding brushes. A literal pet spaw! Today was a different experience, everything was great till the very end. There was a groomer there and I asked if they can do a nail trim, (which I usually do myself or regularly at the vet) My frenchie is a 4 yr old 18lbs dog... a little bit on the hyper side but the groomer lost his patience and had an unnecessary attitude. To the point of claiming my frenchie 'bit him' (He does NOT bite) I was there, my daughter was there, and Javier was there if he needed help to get him settled we were all there. At the same time, if you CAN'T do it, just say so and keep it professional. I mentioned to Javier that I regularly take him to the vet for a nail trim and the groomer's words were "there's also plenty of vet techs to assist in holding him down!" That was unnecessary banter and again if you CAN'T do it, just say so and keep it professional. Aside from that, I WILL def be returning regularly for self service wash because everything else is great! Javier called back to apologize for today's experience so it def shows he cares. 10/10 recommend.

Not only was the pricing very reasonable, but my dog came out looking SO good, clean, fluffy, smells amazing, and honestly looking a little too cute! You can tell they genuinely care. They even pointed out things I hadn't noticed as an owner and took the time to educate me, which I really appreciated! I'm beyond happy with the service and will definitely be coming back regularly. 2025 left me devastated after my two fur babies passed away. I took my time grieving as loosing any…read morepet is difficult. Which is even harder to do when Instagram algorithms keep showing you all the urgent dogs who are at risk for euthanasia. Well it finally worked because I finally decided to drive down to the shelter just to "look." It was so heartbreaking to see so many pets begging for affection and love. What made it even worse was only being able to save one. So how does one choose? Personally, I look for the ones who have been there the longest, the ones who have been returned, and the ones who haven't been networked. Basically the ones that are first to be euthanized. While the shelter provides me their assessment, I have found that it is not always accurate. Which is why doing a meet and greet in the play area is critical in making your own assessment of the dog. The meet and greet is key in planning for what kind of training and schedule the dog will need. I never assume that the dog will be perfect in every way as soon as I bring him or her home. Which is why I plan meticulously on how to successfully integrate this new family member into our lives. Being a veteran with PTSD helps me understand how difficult it is to go from chaos to being home safe again. Which is why patience is important to give the dog as much time as they need to decompress. Then I bring over the dog trainer to give me their behavioral assessment so we can get to work. So who's the lucky dog? None other than a dog I affectionately call Harry because when I first saw him he was behind bars and was underweight. It made me think of that scene from Harry Potter where Ron was telling his mom that Harry was being starved and had bars on his windows. Officially, we named him Dodger formerly known as Zeus! He was returned for not getting along with another dog. That may be true for that previous owner, but so far that has not been my experience. Especially because I did slow introductions and continue to separate as well as supervise any and all interactions. One thing to understand about the adoption process is that they are surrendered for numerous reasons. Owner died, having a baby, no time, bad behavior, homeless, can't afford them, etc. That's okay it happens. If you are new to adopting pets consider fostering first so you can be fully supported before making it official. Or even volunteer if you simply are not ready. Now that I'm an empty nester and after loosing my fur baby I was ready to open my heart to a dog who needed a home. I have all the time in the world to help him thrive and he truly is the best. If you have the space and need a companion, please consider fostering or adopting. So many wonderful animals are euthanized because there's no space. Take the drive down to the shelter and "look." I'm so glad I did. The thought of my dog being euthanized because he had zero interest breaks my heart. My mornings went from depressing starts to so much love from a dog affectionately staring at me from his dog bed. My lonely days are filled with laughter and joy from all the silly goofy antics. Teaching him how to trust again after what he has been through has been healing for the both of us. We make each other feel safe and I am incredibly thankful for him. We saved each other. Thank you to all the volunteers and staff who do their best. This job is certainly not easy, but I'm grateful for you all.
