    Gomez Dog School

    Gomez Dog School

A few months ago, we welcomed a new member to our family. His name is Bailey, a labrador mix. In…read moreour home, we are all used to having small dogs. The main princess of the house is Snowball (a Toy Poodle); Chewie (a Yorkie) is our mini-guard dog. So, when Bailey joined the brood, we were not prepared for the "growing pains" of taking care of a big dog. Today, a few of our neighbors have already filed complaints on how noisy and load Bailey barks. They even threatened us with a notice to get rid of Bailey. :( Well, it's not that we ignore him; we know he barks. But, our neighbors are not dog people and prefer that we all live in a quiet environment. This was a wake up call though to finally get him trained. So, I searched online and found Gomez Dog School. I sent them an emergency text and their trainer, Carlo, said he would be at our house by 11AM. Right on the dot, he was there and he checked on Bailey. Carlo spent about an hour with Bailey and, in that time, he was already giving me the low down on what were my BIG mistakes in dealing with him. Basically, I was a bad fur-parent. :( I spoiled him too much that barking became his way to get what he wanted (WHOOPS!). Long story short, he offered 2 solutions: a) that he would come over every other day to train Bailey (Php450, 9.64USD per hour) or b) Bailey will go to their dog school for 40 days, he will live there in that time and we can only visit once or twice just so that he will be focused with the training (Php14,000, 299.78USD for all 40 days). I know P14K is a bit pricey but, I know I would be paying more in other Dog Training Schools. For the 40 day training, he said that we could pay half today then the next half after 20 days. They would also take care of all his shots, food, cleaning. From the way I saw how he handled Bailey, Carlo really cares for dogs. If I would have to be separated from my dog for 40 days, I know that he will be in good hands. :) So, today, due to the incessant complaints of the neightbors, my parents and I decided that Bailey will be going to Dog School. Apart from the home visit, part of their service is that their school can pick up your dog and bring him to their school. They will pick him up later at around 430PM. I appreciate that they very hands on with their pet training services. Also, seeing how the trainer treats and talks to our pet was very important to me. :) To anyone who is looking to have their dogs trained, I recommend that you contact Gomez Dog School. Let's all hope that Bailey will do well! :D

I am so sad writing this review. Choose another clinic if you have the choice. I brought my 4 year…read moreold husky, Blue, to Vets in Practice Katipunan branch because he was having diarrhea off and on for 3 months already. They were informed that he had lost a lot of weight already. They took a stool sample and gave him antibiotics that didn't help. Brought him in again after he finished the prescribed meds. Took another stool sample and prescribed stronger medication. 7 days later, with 1 remaining dose left, we found our Bluie dead!! I tried reaching the vet since Jan. 29, the day he died, but she was always out. Never even replied to my messages. I don't know why Blue was not given the right diagnostic tests to find out what was really going on inside him. A blood test would have given us more information to be able to treat properly. Even a physical check on the stomach or perhaps a temperature check. None!! I relied on the expertise of the vet! That's why we brought our sick dog to them in the first place. Just a stool check. Worse is that when I needed to talk to the vet, Dr Siday is her name, for questions as to what could have caused his death and to give closure, she never returned my calls. I'm so heartbroken!! It's been 4 days of calling Vets in Practice in Katipunan everyday but to no avail. They didn't want to give me her direct contact number and she could not be reached in all the numbers they gave me. I wish they could be a little more empathetic. Very bad practice, to say the least. I hope and pray that I find justice for Blue and that they get what they deserve! I still have a lot of questions unanswered.

I didn't even know that it existed until the time I passed by it on the way to the parking lot. Bow & Wow is definitely not your ordinary pet supply store. Most, if not all, of their pet food and treats are all-natural and organic. For me, this means two things. First that it is better and healthier for our pets and second, that it's pricier than the usual dog food. As a parent of three dogs, I only want what's best for them so there I times, if the budget allows, that I get their treats from here. So if you if you have the extra bucks to spare for the optimum health of your furbabies, then this place is a perfect stop for you. Besides, being a pet owner is a responsibility and a commitment and the expenses are all part of it.

I do like the selection of food they have here. And everything is a high quality and healthier alternative. The good thing is that the staff seem to know a lot about the different kinds of pet food and they are always eager to help. Because this brand doesn't have any competitors in the Philippines they are able to price themselves at a premium. They overcharge. Which I guess they have a right to do, but as a consumer, when you know you can buy the product from the USA at 1/3 of the price, it gets on your nerves a bit. Also they should give the membership cards for free. We spend thousands of pesos here every month and we get no discount or no promotion! There are barely any sales too. So how are customers supposed to get incentivized to buy? Plus they really need to start offering a delivery service - even if they do charge extra for it. Lugging dozens of cans is never fun.
