So awful to say this after 5 years we have discovered the puppy we got from this breeder has 2 auto immune diseases - one that causes the inability to absorb proteins properly, which we found a way to manage just fine. However one just came out of nowhere which appears to be what someone else described as IMHA - he had bloody stools out of nowhere and we discovered he has low platelet count because his own body is destroying them. We are changing his meds. The dogs they're breeding have underlying genetic defects. I feel so much guilt in ever leaving a review for them that might've perpetuated their business. I can't describe how heart breaking it is to love a puppy so much and also know that it may not have that much longer to live. He had an amazing 5 years with us and I hope more with these meds but these people need to never breed dogs again. read more

I bought Nezuko back in July 2021, and she is now almost 2 years old. I wanted and was told I was buying a regular sized shiba, but now that she is basically full grown and have been seen by multiple vets, there is no doubt she is a mame shiba. It's almost hilarious how this has worked out, as I had my doubts when I first got her, but she went through such fast and quick growth spur within the span of a couple of months, even the first vet that saw her was convinced she was a full-sized shiba. But now that she is almost 2, she is still at 22 pounds, and vets say that is probably the max healthy weight she is going to hit. She is healthy, cute, and great personality otherwise, however it's super sketch that this business sent me a MAME shiba when i clearly wanted a full-sized, told them so, and was guaranteed that I will be getting a full-size. Also thank goodness I started feeding her supplements ever since I got her, as the vet says she sees some signs of luxating patella, which equals irresponsible breeding and is common from puppy mills, but it is more mild and eased due to me being diligent about her nutrition and supplement intakes. all in all, i would not buy another puppy from this place. read more

It has now been 2 weeks since we received our puppy, and I will start with the fact that I did receive a healthy Shiba Inu puppy. Her name was Mikasa (from the site) and we renamed her "Peppi", short for Peppermint. The whole experience really tested my ability to handle silence. Like many had shared, once you paid, you are pretty much left with silence and you just have to deal with that. I did get some response (not too prompt) up to the point I paid, afterward, I have not heard from them again. So, you do need to be able to handle that if you deal with them. The pick-up was smooth, the plane landed at 8 pm PST at SFO and by 8:30 pm, I got a call from Eva airline cargo saying that Peppi had arrived. You would need to first to go Eva Airline cargo to pick up paperwork before you go to the US Custom (address listed in the email), clear Custom, and bring the paperwork back to Eva Cargo, paid the fee before they release the puppy. Note that there is an extra Covid handling fee, the total came to $135 instead of $105, thank goodness I did bring extra cash with me. So, bring change and extra cash in case there are other fees. The crate Peppi came in was filthy, poop and pee inside... that poor thing must have been standing on her feet for many hours. I can't imagine how tired she must be. She, on the other hand, was clean and extremely hungry. So, bring extra food! According to the cargo tracking, she arrived at the cargo center around 4-ish local time and the flight took off close to midnight and was 14 hours long, so, I suppose she has no food for close to 24 hours and I don't know how long ago she soiled her crate. Bring a pair of good scissors to cut the cable tides, wipes, or a wet towel to lightly wipe her down. Take leash and harness, pee pad for the car, food & water bowl. Be aware of jetlag, it took her close to 4 days to finally adjusted to the timezone. She was a light sleeper for the first week, by 2nd week, I see a difference in her comfort level with her new home, she would sleep through us (people) talking. In general, I feel very relieved for getting a healthy puppy. I had to prepare my 8 years old for the worst in case something was not right. But thank goodness, it turned out well. A couple of things that bother me: 1. Age of the puppy. On the website, my puppy's birthday is listed as 4/5/2021, and on the document, her birthday is shown as of 3/21/2021. I know it is only 2 weeks, but it would have been nice if we know for sure. so, I emailed them and ask for confirmation, no response. 2. Socialization. Peppi freak out on every little noise and every little thing. But the good thing with Shiba, she doesn't bark when she is afraid. Anyhow, I had a feeling she was raised in a crate and that's it. When I carry her to a park, she would shake so badly, and even holding her close, she would be so scared. Tried to de-sensitize her but she would be so freak out, she would not even eat her favorite treat. Hope this helps. We were extremely skeptical of Puppy For Me when we first learned of their services. They are located in Taiwan so we were unable to physically see any puppies, and we weren't sure if the website was real or not. Purebred Shibas are hard to come by from US breeders, and we were told we would have to wait years on waiting lists by several AKC breeders. We decided to go to Muir Beach in northern California one day, and saw someone with a puppy Shiba. We asked where they got it and they said Puppy For Me. It was beautiful and healthy. We were still on the fence, when we ran into the same Shiba two months later at a store 2 hours away from our first encounter. It was healthy as ever and so beautiful. We were convinced it was the real deal. We decided to get a female Shiba, Hillary. After the initial payment there was little communication (like everyone has said) until it was time for Hillary to be shipped to us in San Francisco. I will say the complete radio silence of communication after payment was very stressful, given we had sent thousands of dollars to someone we never met. It does sound like this is about par for the course with them though. We had to go to a cargo delivery bay at SFO, which was slightly sketchy, and deal with customs, and then we got a crate with a teeeeeeny tiny baby Shiba Inu. The paperwork said she was born in June, which was very doubtful as we got her in October and she only weighed about 5 pounds. It also said she was a cat Sushi was taken to the vet and aced all her tests, and was healthy, happy, loving, and playful from the very start. She has grown into a wonderful dog, and tested 100% pure Shiba Inu when we genetic tested her. She is very friendly, unlike some female Shibas. She is full of personality and loves people and other dogs. A bit timid with dogs, but she's learning more. Very important to socialize your dog from the very start. We love her very much and would recommend Puppy For Me. If you can get over the fact they don't communicate much after payment, and that your dog may be a little younger than advertised, you'll do great! read more

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my review. I also want to clarify that what I wrote was within the knowledge of the Doctor that tried to resuscitate him in the animal hospital, whom said Kiko was underage, after examinations of Kiko's body after his death. He barely had teeth or fur. We recently got a puppy that was 12 weeks (3 months), the same age Kiko claimed to be and has so much fur, that I can barely see in and has a lot of teeth. However, Kiko barely had any fur, where I saw every part of his skin, where it was peach fuzz on his tail. I am not writing this review to say you did not give me a refund or did not believe me. I would like to thank you again for willing to give me the full refund, including offering to give me another pup with a discount. Though, I decided to write the review to let potential customers be aware that anything is possible, such as a possible horrific death, due to stress from such a long flight. After waiting for 2 months, this lovely Shiba inu puppy finally came and became part of the family! She is absolutely adorable and healthy. She is also pretty socialized and friendly to strangers. Surprisingly, she seems to be crate training before and is very smart - staying at home alone for a couple of hours and learning new tricks are like a breeze! Gave a four-star review because like other comments mentioned - the communication sometimes was a little bit slow, and there was very limited communication between the payment and delivery, unless I asked. DO NOT BUY!!! They sent me a very sick puppy, she was immediately hospitalized, taken to the vet and ER countless times and passed away after less than A WEEK!!! They do not care about the health or well-being of their puppies or clients! This has been one of the worst experiences in my life!! The emotional and financial burden on me and my family and the life of this little puppy are just not worth it!!! Please look elsewhere. Some highlights of my experience: 1. Poor communication (least of all problems) 2. FALSIFIED puppy information - date of birth on site was showing the puppy as 12 weeks old, the paperwork the puppy came with was 4.2 weeks old and the ER doctor said based on her teeth and size she was no more than 8-9 weeks old. She said that the long flight from Taiwan could be FATAL for such young and small puppy!!! She also said the puppy was anorexic and severely underweight! They falsify the documentation so the puppy can be shipped sooner, putting these small puppies at risk of getting sick or dying just to make money quicker... 3. The puppy they sent me was VERY SICK!! She was extremely lethargic and weak and could not even keep her head up. She was throwing up and refused to eat. I took her to different vets and ER, she was hospitalized for most of the time on IV with countless tests done on her. The rest of the time I had to feed her with syringe at home every hour, but she didn't get any better and we had to watch her fade away each day. She had multiple seizures, threw up blood and then died in less than a week of picking her up from the airport!! This was extremely painful and traumatic experience for my entire family and would never wish anyone to go through this... 4. Sent the puppy on a 20+ hour journey with the WRONG FOOD! While this was underage, anorexic small puppy, they sent her with dry food which was for medium to large dogs! The size of the food was almost as big as her head! So this puppy had NO FOOD for the entire journey from when they sent her to when I got her which with customs was probably over 20 hrs! Per the vets, these small puppies need to eat every 3-4 hrs to maintain their sugar level or they can develop hypoglycemia which is fatal for them! This type of negligence is absolutely inexcusable! 5. REFUSED to pay any MEDICAL BILLS even though they said they'd reimburse me for all medical expenses! I spent thousands of dollars on daily hospitalization, ER, medication, emergency food, etc. and didn't work for a week! I sent them all medical invoices as they had asked and requested that they follow through on their word and reimburse me for the medical bills, but they refused to do so and stopped responding to my emails! I went through extremely painful experience emotionally and financially!! And now I'm left with no puppy, empty heart and thousands of dollars in medical bills... 6. HIDDEN purchase contract - at no point of the purchase process a contract was mentioned until I asked them to reimburse me for the medical bills which THEY SAID via text THEY WOULD! Apparently, there's a contract somewhere on the site which is not clearly visible or discussed, and they share with you if you request a reimbursement! Most reputable breeders would walk you through any purchase contract instead of hiding it. Apparently if your puppy is sick, you are supposed to send it back to them (I guess on another 20+ hr journey?!?!) or if not, you are responsible for the medical bills...I don't think any normal human being would just put a sick puppy in cargo on a 13 hr flight to Taiwan so in other words, you are responsible for any health issues... My recommendation for you is PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM THIS BREEDER!!! It's a puppy mill in Taiwan. They ask for over $3500 for the puppy and then send you a very young puppy not ready to take the stress of the long flight putting the puppy's life at risk! Trust me, watching a tiny puppy suffer in front of you, feeling helpless, taking them from hospital to hospital hoping the puppy would get better is extremely painful!!! On top of that, spending thousands of dollars trying to help a terminally ill puppy and, in the end, losing her and your emotional and financial well-being...it's just not worth it! Please do not put yourself and these little puppies in that situation! My heart is still completely shattered and my life will never be the same... I'm not sure if I'll ever be ready to buy a puppy again but if I do, I'd: 1) FaceTime with the breeder and puppy before purchase 2) NEVER BUY ONLINE. First of all let me start by saying I NEVER really write reviews but felt that I should to let everyone know about my positive experience. I've wanted a red toy poodle for a while now and saw one while traveling in the airport and the woman who had the dog informed me that she got the dog from puppy 4 me... I emailed and texted the number associated with the Instagram account and put my deposit down that same day. I was told that I would receive my dog late March but she ended up coming early (March 14th). Once I got the email about her flight and such I was instructed to pay the final balance. I was pretty nervous about this because, I mean well it's a very large amount of money. I sent it through PayPal and paid the fee. I felt that way the safest way. When I emailed the company I always received a email back. Sometimes not right away but I took into consideration that our time zones are completely different. My puppies name is Cali (formally Kimmi). When I picked her up from the airport she wasn't nervous at all. (She's a fiesty one). She was very hungry though. I read previous reviews and was prepared with food. She was also very clean. I brought wet wipes just in case but didn't need them. When I got her home she played and ran around as if she had been my puppy for years already. The process at the airport (LAX) was pretty smooth also. I paid the fee, then went to customs, came back and they gave me my puppy. I've taken her to the vet. Completely healthy, no problems at all. She came with shot records and everything they advertised. My experience was completely pleasant and I love my girl so much. She's so smart and full of life. I'm so glad I was able to get her from this company. I know other people have make reviews saying they had bad experiences but that just wasn't mine at all. PUPPYFOR.ME IS A SCAM. My friend first told me about Puppyforme's website when she said her family-friend bought a Shiba Inu from the website directly. I've been wanting a Shiba Inu for many years now, but all the breeders near me require an extensive application process and waitlist that can last anywhere from 6 months to 1 year long (which is probably good-- it means the breeder is reputable, they don't overbreed, and they want to ensure that their pups end up in a good home). When my friend told me about Puppyforme, I was interested because the process seemed easy enough. The price is steep, but I figured that if I could get a Shiba Inu ASAP, it would be worth it. Let me tell you... DO NOT have this mindset. It's not worth it. It's not worth supporting a horrible puppy mill that has awful breeding practices and poor environments for their pups. Here's where my story begins. I browsed the Puppyforme website to look at all the Shiba Inus they have available. I found their Instagram page (@puppyforme), and their bio listed a US number (415 area code) that I could text, since I'm located in the US. I texted the number to ask for more information about the Shiba I was interested in, and more pics/videos. They linked me to a generic Shiba video on their Instagram page with the same backdrop as all their other puppy videos/photos. This is red flag #1, as they refused to provide any other photos/videos of the pup in a different environment. Side note: The guy over text was very short with me and seemed annoyed at my very reasonable questions... Here's where it gets fishy: I asked for photos of the puppy's parents. The guy over text (415 number) sent two very stock-like images of two beautiful Shibas... both in separate environments than the photos of the puppies. Strange, I thought, but I wasn't that suspicious... until my friend recognized the Shiba Inu that the man claimed to be the mother, since it's a famous Shiba Inu in Taiwan-- this Shiba's name is MeiMei, and my friend sent me the Instagram page of MeiMei (@yumiliu526), and we DMed the owner to ask 1. if the photo that Puppyforme sent was a photo of MeiMei, and 2. if she or MeiMei is associated with Puppyforme in any way. MeiMei's owner responded right away and confirmed that the photo was indeed MeiMei, and it was a photo taken from her Instagram account back in 2016. She also let us know that MeiMei is NOT the mother of the Shiba puppies from Puppyforme, and she's not associated with this breeder in any way. IT GETS WORSE... To top everything off and confirm that they are a terrible, shady business, take a look at the photos I've included below. When they sent me a photo of the "parents," they MIRRORED THE IMAGE of Mei Mei so that it couldn't be reverse-image searched on Google! If you see the original photo which I've also included below, it's a direct mirrored photo. The funniest/grossest thing about this is that on their website, they even share advice on "how to avoid scammers" and encourage folks to reverse-image search other puppy sellers' photos to make sure they aren't taken from the web. How sickening is that? I don't understand how this organization can be shady enough to not only steal photos, but to mirror/flip the photos so that they can't be reverse-image searched, and then encourage buyers to reverse-image search to "avoid scammers" when THEY ARE LITERALLY THE SCAMMERS THAT THEY, THEMSELVES, ARE SPEAKING OF. I am still disgusted as I write this, even though it's been weeks since my initial contact with Puppyforme. I've been putting off writing this review because I wanted to come to an understanding with Puppyforme and try to understand why they would send fake photos, but they just stopped responding to me when I called them out. This makes me truly believe that they are an evil puppy mill, shipping their pups overseas and making so much money from their awful business. Clearly, their parent dogs are in awful conditions, which is why they won't send real photos of them. They also know that breeding these highly sought out, popular breed of dogs and selling to US/Canada will generate huge profits. It's absolutely disgusting that they're treating their animals poorly and scamming their buyers of the truth. It's a complete lie when they say that their puppies live in a beautiful 3-acre ranch, and that they only breed mother dogs up to 3 times. All of that is false. Don't give Puppyforme your money unless you want to support animal abuse. Another side note: Puppyforme is definitely a puppy mill because when my friend's family-friend bought their Shiba from their website, they immediately listed 5 more Shiba Inus for sale. As my fiancé said, this business is money driven and do not care for their puppies We got a shiba inu from here since a lot of breeders didn't want to sell or the waitlist was long. The communication to arrive was extremely slow and rude. The seller did not want to provide us with updated photos or videos of the puppy. The day we got our puppy, his crate was extremely dirty. His water bottle was completely empty and there was poop and pee everywhere. It was evidence the flight attendants didn't change or fed him. Our shiba was so scared to come out to play/interact with us. After his arrival, we took him to the vet. She noticed his tummy protruded out, had several skin patches, and a paw injury from either excessive biting or trauma. Lab tests indicated positive for Giardia and Isospora, a type of coccidia infection. No wonder he kept acting strange. My fiancé reached out to the seller, who offered a partial refund of only $500. We paid $3300 for the puppy because we saw other Yelp reviews highly recommended this breeder for shiba Inus. We renegotiate for a better refund but no response after our request My heart feels for my puppy and the trauma he endured. He is quite lethargic from these health conditions. Alright so I waited a long time to make this review. My text messages and emails apparently do not get the owners of this business' attention, so maybe this will. I picked a puppy on their website, paid the down payment. I was contacted about a day later with information that the puppy has to fly all the way from Taiwan. But a new worry started when I realized a small dog had to make such a big journey to me. Waited a bit. Communication was complete crap. When you're spending 3000 dollars, I'd expect some reassurance. I had to reach out, ask questions. Got the ship date for my puppy. The day finally arrived. My puppies flight was delayed about TWELVE HOURS! He was supposed to arrive at 9am, but didn't make it until 9pm! I watched the tracker the entire time, poor doggo was left in that crate for so long. I texted them asking for some reassurance. They told me that the crate had food, padding, water. Finally got doggo from the airport. First of all, the crate SMELLED HORRIBLE. You could literally smell it though my face mask that's how mad it was. Finally got doggo Out the crate and he was completely smelly, had dried piss and crap all over him. There was poop all over the crate on the inside. No food bowl, just water tied to the cage. I got the dog out and he ate two whole bowls of food. That's how hungry he was. Also, I don't think they train the dogs on how to drink from the hampster type water bottles on the cages. Got doggo home. Got him cleaned up. TRUST ME IT GETS WORSE. 3 days later took doggo to the vet. They said he was much younger than stated. Still has baby teeth when if he was the age that was stated he'd at least start getting in adult teeth. Doggo had terrible loose stools. Everything he ate came Out liquid. Vet wanted his stools tested. Mind you, this already cost me about 300 just to get the check up and stool tested. Got a call from the vet and guess what? Doggo has PARASITES. That's why his stool is like that. Now doggo is on a special diet, needs anti worming medicine for a whole week. Also needs more testing after all this. Yes, I love my dog. It was super heart breaking to see him from the start in such bad condition. What made matters worse is trying to contact this company for any help. If you've researched enough though, you will find that this account (Kenny) has reputable years selling on there and was able to provide reference(s) before I put down a deposit for my black and tan shinu. Daisy (at the time) checked out after a vet visit the day after pick up. She was pretty much crate-trained and just needed a little more reinforcement in potty training on a pad indoors during the winter months. Now Emi's grown long, cool and thriving as much as PuppyForMe's Customers page. For the eight months I've had her, a handful have questioned the origin and purity of Emi since they're so 'rare' but if you've honed in on a "non-native" US breed as I had on the Shiba Inu, Kenny's the way to go in San Jose. Wanted to update our precious little boy incase potential buyers are curious. We just neutered him, so we've had him about 4 months now and best 4 months of my life. He's seriously the best and smartest guy ever! Potty trained in couple weeks and healthy as ever. We bring him everywhere and everyone always says how cute he is! * Review based on getting my Shiba pup a week ago As I was waiting for the day my puppy to arrive -- I googled and found out about this Puppyfor.me Yelp page, and after reading some of the reviews I became quite concern and start questioning if I had made the right choice of getting my Shiba pup from a Taiwanese breeder. As I am from LA, the flight would be about 12 hours for the doggo. As the day arrived, I went to the cargo handler location to pickup my Shiba pup. The pickup process took about 1 hour to complete. So, 13 hours total from departure from Taipei to me getting my doggo. My pup was very nervous inside the carrier. The inside of the carrier was surprisingly clean though, as there was no trace of poop. Once we got home, he was extremely excited and happy to be out and gobbled mucho kibbles. He was super hungry. 2 days afterwards, I took him to the vet -- and the vet said he has a clean bill of health; although the paperwork did show the puppy to be 4.3 months of age -- I believe the pup is of the age stated on the website (3 months); the age overstatement is to circumvent any issues with transport due to dog State import rules (16 weeks of age/rabies shot necessary for certain States). So be forewarned about this, as your vet will question why the difference of age between doggo and vaccination paperwork. He was given a first round of shots in late August in Taipei, so he was administered a 2nd round of shots by my vet. I do feel quite fortunate that my pup is very healthy and his trip from Taipei was not as concerning as I had originally thought it would be. I feel quite sorry for those other yelp reviewers who had such a poor experience in getting their pup. Would I recommend this breeder? I would -- but I strongly suggest at looking for a local breeder first -- for better communication and better face time with knowing your pup first. read more

First words: I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BREEDER Unfortunately I'm writing this review with tears in my eyes. Out puppy has been with us for 2 days and today was vet day. Our consultation started with the shocking news that our puppy doesn't have the age that the breeders said on the documents. He is much younger. She has seen 5 other puppies from the same breeder with documents forged to get them here in the US. Also, our puppy was very underweight due to the fact that he was neglected when younger. We noticed that he eats like a bolt, but we didn't imagine that he was underweight. Luckily our puppy doesn't have any pulmonary, heart, intestines disease. But she said that she's seen really bad cases. I broke into tears imagining the miserable life these puppies have with this breeder. I'm blessed to have my baby here and I will make sure that he has a healthy, happy life. But I WOULD NOT recommend this breeder. The other comments about communication are right. They take forever to reply, they don't like to do video calls, the people in Taiwan don't speak English very well, which makes it even harder. read more

These guys gave me the wrong dog! I've had her for two days now and I am seeing a difference in the picture and real life. They gave me a completely different dog with patellar luxation. Also with a different chest pattern and really small compare to the pictures on the website. HOW DO YOU GIVE SOMEONE THE WRONG DOG? I can't help but to believe they are trying to scam me. My dumbass thought it would be ok to go through friends and family on PayPal. And now after I reached out to them, I have to wait for them to contact me. Who know how long that's going to be. -2nd update- Months after what had happened I'm able to talk about it again. So, i try to ask they if they could find the dog I originally asked them for but long story short, they tried to send me 3 different puppies from Taiwan to pick and choose from after admitting there was a mistake. There was still no sign of the dog I wanted from the beginning. Being too stressed I asked for a full refund plus all medical bill I had to pay for the puppy that wasn't mine to begin with; Kenny drove down from the Bay Area to pick her and gave me a full refund. It had really stressed me out and it was really hard to say goodbye to the puppy but it just didn't feel right. Please be careful! I am extremely frustrated and it appears I am not the only one who has dealt with this issue. I was so scared spending money here. I was spending a lot of money and did not want to be ripped off obviously. They accommodated me so well with a FaceTime session with my puppy. We just got back from the vet (within 2 days from when we picked up Champ from SFO. He was as healthy as I expected. I gave the breeder 5 stars because they were efficient, credible and serious about their business: - Timely and efficient communications about critical info. They don't seem to respond to chatty type of question (they never responded to my question to tell me Champ's personality). But when I emailed them the day before the arrival expressing that I couldn't find the flight status. They responded immediately sharing a link of cargo tracking status that I previously overlooked from their email confirmation before. - Champ looked healthy and playful when we picked him up at the airport. He is also very affectionate, curious and snuggly. I could tell from his poop that he was very well fed before he was put on the flight. Vet confirmed today (2 days after we had him) that he is a great healthy puppy! - We only had to wait for 2 weeks between inquiry and getting the puppy. The process was quite easy and you could see the status from Cargo website link with the air bill number they sent. The status was clearly marked with each stage and time when the flight was booked, when the puppy was received in TPE, when the flight departed, when the paper work arrived, when the puppy arrived and when the puppy is ready to be picked up. Just wanted to share my insights about other reviews that mentioned about 1) lack of response and 2) birth date was different o the paperwork and on the website. I can't speak for others but for us, they responded to my request to send a video with microchip number, and my request to confirm that every is on track. They didn't respond to my request to send details about Champ's personality, and how his tail got so short. I guess it's probably because they are busy and these questions might potentially lead to revert of purchase decision which would introduce a lot of churns on their end. I asked my vet about his estimate of Champs age. His paperwork has 9/25 but his bday on the website was 11/5. The vet said that 11/5 seems right and the 9/25 is most likely the gestation date. He said that it's common for puppies to have two dates from Breeders of other countries. I definitely think that the company knows what they are doing and is serious about their business. I'd recommend it to others and the key is to just trust them. read more

I have two shiba inus from this place and they are both extremely smart, healthy and well-behaved. I got the cream girl in 2018 and the red boy in 2019. They were both housebroken very quickly. The boy was from a champion bloodline and IT SHOWS. His body structure is solid like a tank, his coat is absolutely flawless, and he eats and plays a lot! Don't buy from puppyforme! I contacted them regarding my puppy I received back in august 2020 because my dog has been suffering from so many health issues but no response. My dog suffers from luxating patella which causes his back knees to pop out of place. He also was diagnosed with black skin disease also known as alopecia x which causes severe hair loss and the hairs become like a wool texture and breaks off. The balding areas has also caused his hair to darken and become flaky due to hair loss. My dog always need to wear a shirt now because the sun damages the skin and further darkens the skin. He started losing hair at 8 months and it's gotten progressively worse. It started just a bit on back legs and now it's spread all the way to his neck and chest. I done my research after and most people say that this is usually genetics from bad breeding. This makes me think further that this place must be a mill because of all these health issues and them not even getting back to me. We paid 3k for him.. when you pay this much you expect top quality. Needless to say I was bit skeptical about not being to physically see my puppy before I purchased her. I was also not too sure about picking a puppy at the airport (LAX for me). The flight was delayed four hours so we had to wait.(pro-tip: track the flight with an app to make sure it's on time). In the end everything worked out fine. I got a happy, healthy, well behaved Corgi. You can tell she was well taken care of by her sweet manners and disposition. The vet gave her a clean bill of health and remarked how healthy she was. Our experience with Kenny was pretty frustrating from day one. Eventually we had to end our relationship before our puppy was shipped from Taiwan to us and lost our $300 deposit. Now I realize that this was for good, looking at our most beautiful Shiba Inu puppy that we got from another breeder. So I don't recommend wasting your time and money with Kenny. My wife had been obsessed with Shiba Inu breed for a long time. So we came up with a decision to have a puppy. We did a research and decided to get in touch with Kenny. His profile looked pretty trustworthy, and frankly there are not many Shiba Inu breeders in San Francisco Bay Area. We emailed Kenny, gave him a couple of calls, but with no success. Kenny called us back in 7(!) days. Nevertheless weeklong delay in reply didn't look good from customer relations perspective, we got the information about available puppies, their location, cost and conditions. The puppies were in Taiwan, so Kenny requested a $300 deposit. We asked for several photos, and after few days and few reminders the photos of adorable puppy were sent to us. We were so excited with the idea of having a puppy, that we sent a deposit via PayPal and asked for next steps. Kenny got back to us with the delivery date - 4/10, in 20 days after the deposit was wired. We had no news and updates till the April 9th, when I emailed him asking for the delivery details. Kenny replied that they had been working with their shipper on the delivery date and most likely it would be in the end of April. Eventually the delivery date was postponed several times. Kenny replied to my emails with 3-4 day delays, after few follow-ups. This is how we communicated. In the middle of a such disappointing communication process we started talking to different breeders, and were surprised with their responsiveness and willingness to provide us with the details about their puppies, like photos, videos, video-chat sessions, health certificates, etc. In the beginning of May, in about 1.5 month after the deposit was transferred, I asked Kenny to send us few recently taken photos of the dog and requested a live video-chat with him, if it was possible. We got a few photos and a video-clip of our puppy (video-chat request was ignored), and after a consultation with few other breeders, including my friend in Europe, we were told that the puppy was definitely not purebred. His coat color and shape of his ears didn't look authentic as for a purebred Shiba Inu puppy. Taking into account 1.5 months of stressful back and forth email communication about the delivery, no finalized delivery date, puppy's age (he was 4 months old at that time), and our concerns if the puppy was purebred, we asked to cancel our order. Maybe that was a plan, huh? Kenny notified us that the deposit was not refundable, and we agreed. We just wanted to get our puppy as soon as possible. No excuses and suggestions for a partial refund from Kenny. We ended up with another breeder, and received our Shiba Inu puppy in three weeks as had been promised. Daily communication, plenty of photos and videos and a lot of support with any questions even after a fluffy buddy joined our family. After got my puppy toy poodle for one week, I think I should write a comment here to alert anyone who wants to buy puppy from this breeder. 1. Slow in response. It would take around 2-3 days for them to respond. I think it may because of the time difference, since I'm in Bay Area, they are Taiwan based breeder. 2. Infrequent updates. As a prospective puppy mom, I was eager to know things going on with my puppy after I paid my deposit and before they shipped him. I was hoping they can proactively update every client with frequent updated puppy videos or photos to make sure the client that puppy is alright. The bright side is, after you send updates requests to them, they would send you back video several day later. 3. No documents/photos/videos for puppy's parents. This is acceptable but can not be understood. As a client, I so wanted to know health status of the puppy's parents, even though they are claiming very dog is healthy on the website. 4. Unclear birth date & the dog you got is not necessarily the dog you saw on their website. This is a red flag to me. The puppy came to me was shown born on 6/10 on their website, after I got my puppy on 9/11, I took the puppy to a vet on 9/14, and I was told by the vet that he cannot believe the puppy is 3-month old as told by the breeder, instead, he believes the puppy is no older than 10 weeks. And the document shipped by the breeder along with the dog shows that the puppy was born on 5/2... apparently, their document information don't match their website. (I'm also suspicious of the vaccinations records for my puppy sent by them. ) If the dog is no older than 10 weeks, then my puppy was born around end of June or early July. So which dog did I see on their website in July? My puppy was just born that time, he cannot be that big! 5. Very poor after-sales service. So after 4.happened, I emailed them immediately asking the exact birth date for my dog, I don't get any answers after one week. 6. Puppy shipping. Be aware that the dog will come to you with air cargo. Also, there are $120 fee in SFO for the customs processing on top of all the money you pay to the breeder. After the whole unpleasant process, giving 2 stars is because my puppy is a very healthy, happy and slightly potty trained dog, he makes my day every day after I got him, and the slight flexibility the breeder has when I requested to change the dog I wanna get after paying the deposit.
