My sweet little toy poodle adopted from Toy Breed Rescue
    ChaChaCha ..

I've adopted two dogs from Loree over the past 8 years. I even bring my dogs back to Boulevard Pet Hospital for their on-going care because Loree and Dr. Schwartz are genuinely concerned about what is best for the dogs. For Skyttle D/Jennifer, the Asian woman who complained about Loree, I am Asian and don't feel she treats me differently than anyone else. Please don't play the race card, it doesn't lend credibility to your review.

My sweet little shih tzu, Charlie (formally Barnaby). Thank you, Toy Breed Rescue!

I had a wonderful experience here adopting my dog, Charlie (formerly Barnaby). I spoke with his foster mom before going to meet him in person and take him home. We were allowed plenty of time together to ensure we would be a great pair. The adoption fee included a harness, collar, leash, microchipping, neutering, health records, as well as helpful pamphlets and coupons. This rescue is connected with Boulevard Pet Hospital so you know the animals are well cared for. I took Charlie in for a check up and he was so excited to see everyone on the staff! Thanks so much to Loree and team for my new family member!

This is Teddy adopted from Toy Breed Rescue.

I adopted Teddy aka Bugsy in September 2012 from Loree. He was a one year old, Lhasa mix. I saw Teddy's pic posted at Toy Breed Rescue website, and felt in love with him. I called Loree immediately to get more information about Teddy. When Loree called back and interviewed on the phone, she asked me lots of questions and tried to find out if I am a responsible owner. At that moment, I felt so disappointed because I was screening by her and had to answer all the questions that she was asking. My hope was going down to zero, as I thought she will reject me. Then, she wanted me to call back at 3:00P.M on the same day to chat further. When I called her again, she did not answer the phone. So I had to leave her a message. Finally Loree called. She scheduled to meet with me on Saturday morning at Martinez humane Society, parking lot area. When she arrived, she did not ask me any more questions, she just handed the dog and wanted me to take a walk around the parking lot with Teddy. After the walk, I brought Teddy home, and adopted him. That's simple. After I adopted Teddy, I realized Teddy is eating really, really fast. I emailed Loree asking for advice. She wrote back immediately and instructed me to purchase a special bowl for Teddy. The special bowl will help Teddy to slow down. I kept contacting Loree for help about Teddy; I realize Loree is very knowledgeable about dogs, and willing to offer her help at any time and guide me what to do. She followed up with me about Teddy's improvement. Now, Teddy with me is almost 8 months, he is so cute and adorable. He does not have any negative behaviors issue at all, except a fast eater. However, his eating habit is slow down a lot. The special bowl is working well for him as making him eating slowly. I am glad that I adopted Terry from Loree, a caring foster home. I definitely recommend all my friends to Loree if they are looking for a pet. Loree deserves five stars! :) Hooray, Loree!

We adopted Murphy (Manny) last Saturday while you were at Milpitas Humane Society. Our family is complete :-)

My husband and I were at the Milpitas Humane Society on Saturday and met Loree who had a beautiful 4 year old Shih Tzu named Manny . It was love first sight. We brought our pitbull/shepherd back for a meet and greet with him and that sealed the deal . We brought him home that day to his forever family. We renamed him Murphy . And he has brightened our lives in such a short few days. He is a very mild mannered well behaved little man . Loree was very informative . You could tell she wanted to make sure that this little guy was a perfect fit . He is adored and it feels like he's always been with us . Bella is very happy to have another furry friend .Thank you Loree for all the love and care you put into these little treasures.

Aimee (was Hazel). Adopted December 2012.

Adopted another dog, a beautiful Shih Tzu named Meiko in December 2014. Another great experience.

Paid $300 per dog with our last transaction. That included immunizations, being fixed, and micro chip. We got a Yorkie (pure breed) and Toy Poodle (pure breed) so I feel like we totally got a deal on our pups.

A lot of times, the staff who I did get ahold of was really unhelpful. Enter, CARE Pets. They responded quickly and answered all my questions and I was able to see my puppy within a week. I was glad to hear that CARE pets fosters all their pets and then brings them to the adoption events on the weekends. JoAnn, who fostered my new puppy, was extremely helpful and walked me through the whole adoption process via email, then in person. All the staff and volunteers there are really friendly and they have a lot of cute dogs to adopt! And I love how if an owner is unable to take care of their pet anymore, CARE pets asks the owners to bring the pets back and not to give the dog away or give it to the pound. That makes me feel great about all the dogs that they manage and look after. If you're looking to adopt a puppy in the South Bay area, I highly recommend CARE pets!

To say the least, we love and fully support this organization as it has brought THREE wonderful dogs into our lives. Every person we have talked to at SBPR is friendly, knowledgeable, and has the best interest of the animals at heart. Our first dog was our very first, but we put in the time and research to demonstrate that we were ready for a pet. Though we were newbies and fully disclosed this, SBPR saw that she was a good fit for us as a "first dog," and we have been smitten with her ever since. She is even "bosom buddies" with my mom's dog from SBPR (who is 14 going on 15). With our recent second dog, also from SBPR, we were unsure how our current dog and new dog would get along, both being older and set in their ways. The foster mom allowed us to have a meet-and-greet, and even a trial weekend to see how they would live together. She saw that we were committed to what was best for both dogs, and the potential for a loving home with another SBPR "alum". We are so happy it was a successful transition. These dogs have brought so much love and light into our lives. SBPR cares about dogs and finding loving forever homes, and we are so lucky no-kill orgs like this one exist in our area. I panicked despite taking her to my local vet (he told me to wait 2 weeks for the antibiotics to work before I do anything else). Long story short, I did end up pushing my appt out to wait, but with all my anxiety and pushing my appt out, the staff at Sage were very nice. They were understanding and I ended up cancelling all together because my vet was right, her bump did go away! 4 stars as they're quite expensive. A consultation just to see a doctor would have been $384 and they take a deposit of $96. I can see charging a lot for emergency but not a scheduled visit a week out. The young man with ear plugs at the front desk was cold and nonchalant while I was in clear distress. He flatly stated it would be $1,800 just to be seen, told me to wait in the parking lot, and gave zero empathy or time estimates. I felt like a total bother. While the vet techs who brought out the gurney were sweet, the care disintegrated from there. Dr. Lu introduced herself coldly and casually stated my boy was in bad shape, as if delivering trivial news about the weather. When she diagnosed his advanced cancer - which I was hearing for the first time - it felt purely transactional. When my girlfriend and I asked to see him, Dr. Lu acted as if it were an unreasonable request. Walking to the back, we saw about a dozen dark blue bags containing deceased pets' urns and keepsakes casually left on the floor in a high-traffic area. It felt incredibly disrespectful. When we reached my boy's gurney, not a single staff member was comforting him with a soft touch; they were just standing around a beeping monitor. When I asked to see his radiographs to understand what we were facing, Dr. Lu literally chuckled and asked rhetorically, "Can you read them?" Bothered by the request, she sent a tech back with a stack of prints and no explanation. I refused to let my boy spend his final moments in this heartless place. When I went to check out, multiple receptionists ignored me while on their headsets. I finally paid the $2,712, signed the medical release form, and Dr. Lu walked out without offering a single condolence. I was determined to protect my boy's remaining dignity. We took him straight to Veterinary Emergency Group on Ridder Park Drive, where he was put down that same evening. From the moment we walked in to his very last breath, VEG treated us with the utmost compassion, empathy, and respect - everything that was entirely missing at SAGE. Avoid this place if you love your pet.
