Just came with my 7 month old lab mix puppy for a simple nail trimming. Younger gentleman was really nice and tried to help. Took the dog to the back and when they tied him up he start jumping and moving around. This older dumbass, which was eating in the back, decided to be mister tough guy and jump in and hold my dog forcefully by the head. Luckily he was weak and my dog shook him loose and began to jump around and cry more. As I'm watching all of this thru the window in the lobby, they walk out and tell me that they weren't able to cut my dogs nails cuz he's too crazy. I hope this guy is just an employee and not management. You guys are a grooming establishment, no shot my dog has been the craziest dog to walk in there. The place is closed more than it is open, trust me I walk by there every day. I just hope that people read this and take it seriously. Makes you wonder how they treat dogs when people aren't around. Called to see how they work. Some places have set appointments so the dog doesn't have to be in a crate all day. Let them know his age and that he was a bit of a nervous dog because of the medications he took. Never told them he was a bad dog or that he was in bad shape. Right away they told me he seemed like a difficult dog and they wouldn't want to take him on. I didn't know that grooming salons could be so cruel. Just because he's old and nervous? I'm pretty sure my dog isn't the only old and nervous dog out there. I'd hate to think that you're all uncapalble of taking care of such a dog. I'm sure many come in. I'd think twice about leaving my dog here, especially if he's old. They don't like those type of dogs. read more

I've been bringing my dogs to get groomed here for years. The owners and staff are very professional. You drop off your pup in the morning and most days they are ready for pickup after 1PM. They are full service and completely clean the dogs from head to toe. I've also had their nails cut there without any issue. The place is clean and never smells like dirty animals walk through the doors daily. The best is that they always provide a cute seasonal handkerchief for the dogs. The owners always took the time to alert me when they noticed a problem or a health concern with Contessa. They treated her very well. She was always glad to see the owners and the workers. I was very pleased, I have recommended Puppy Luv to my friends who own dogs. They have always expressed appreciation for the recommendation and in turn were pleased with Puppy Luv. Now, I take my Maltese, Princess and my son's Yorkie, Pongo, to Puppy Luv. Princess and Pongo are always glad to go and are treated well at Puppy Luv. The dogs are well groomed, Princess always gets her bow and Pongo always gets his scarf. The prices are reasonable. The owners love dogs. read more

Extremely Poor! I have been a happy customer for years. Expanding my brood from one four legged to now three. We come at least once a month for the works and I am frequently at this location since its the convenient neighbor hood location for dry cleaning, pizza, Colombian food, liquor, etc. I was appalled when I went to pay, that the owner asked me for another method of payment because my $100 bill "didn't feel right" I questioned him and asked if he meant it felt fake. He said yes and asked again for another MOP again. Shocked! I said your joking right? He again said no and he can't accept my money bc it doesn't "feel right". Shocked and insulted, I went to Twins market and broke the bill for $20's and went back to pay for my kids salon day. I then said I would NEVER return and how dare they imply that a place that I at on a daily basis, the vendors who know me by name, would pay for my dog services with a fake $100 bill. Absolutely absurd, I would never come back here again. Had this person had a little bit better tact and requested for me to break it or sorry he doesn't have change rather than some "doesn't feel right" snark comment. I wouldn't be writing this. But he doesn't. Perhaps this will be a lesson to learn! Don't ever disrespect your loyal customers! read more

"I don't need your business" We have a mixed dog from the pound and called to get a price for a 29 pound dog (we referenced the types of dog she might be) and they told us $43 dollars. We brought the dog in to make an appointment and the man agreed that the $43 amount was correct. After the grooming we got the dog back and her rear legs had not been trimmed and we asked if the guy could take her back and trim the legs and he said he would not put that dog back on the table. Then they told us the total was $58 ($15 more than agreed upon). We paid it because we had to go. Later we decided to return because we were annoyed that they overcharged us and this is where they showed their real character... We spoke to the owner and the groomer that agreed to the $43 amount and they proceeded to yell at us (2 men yelling at a woman and her daughter). They told us we said our dog was a miniature schnauzer and the owner ran in the back and grabbed a dog and yelled 'this is a miniature schnauzer' and held it up to us. They gave us the money back and proceeded to yell things like "don't come back here" and "I don't need your business.... I have been here for 30 years" as they followed us out of the store. I believe they got so mad because we caught them in their lie and probably have done this to other people (changing the price that was agreed upon). read more

Extremely disappointed with the so called "Owner!" I was always under the impression that it was Jorge and he has ALWAYS been so nice and courteous! Not the case with "Juan" - he was very rude and unprofessional! My dog has very bad tear staining and the last time I took him there (Oct 2019) they shaved around his eyes too close and it was raw and red! I waited months for it to heal and then when I called for a return appointment (Feb 2020), I simply asked them not to shave the hair around his eyes because of the past experience. After several hours, I received a call from Juan asking me to pick up my dog because he had diarrhea and they didn't want my dog to infect any of the other dogs they were grooming. He also stated that he didn't want me to return to his shop if I thought they were going to hurt my dog. Funny, if I thought that then why would I call!!!! When we picked up the dog he was crying and terrified. He was clinging to our necks!!!! I'm not sure what happens behind the doors in that place but I would be very careful! On a side note: I took my dog immediately to the vet and there was no sign of diarrhea - they said that dogs often get extremely stressed and have accidents. They should know better! Very disappointed and WILL NEVER EVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN! read more

I switched to Puppy Luv as recommended by my Vet after the big chain store groomer butchered my English Springer Spaniel's ears leaving one way shorter than the other. Puppy Luv has consistently and professionally groomed her several times and gets her looking and smelling great every time for less than the chain stores. Love the smell of the shampoo which lasts at least a week even with my active dog. She also leaves each time with a cute bandana which is a nice touch (loved the Christmas one!). I took my dog here for the first time over the weekend and the experience was awful. My dog is a rescue Lhasa Apso with a lot of hair. I used to go to another groomer that he'd gotten used to but unfortunately the place closed. I had no choice but to find a new groomer and based on the great reviews I had read about this groomer, I booked an appointment. When I arrived, I met a man at the front reception area and explained a few things about the dog. I told them since this was his first time here, he was scared and nervous. I also told them to be careful with him especially around his paws and ears because they're very sensitive. I warned them that he could nip and snap because of this. The man assured me that this happens just like with any other dog and that my dog would be fine. He took my dog inside and when I looked in I noticed all the dogs were in cages and howling. My dog didn't want to go in, but together we coaxed him in. I left feeling a little uneasy. Another lady who was also there with her dog told me that she could tell I was nervous because this is maybe my first time there but that they take great care of dogs. About 2 hours later I got a call from the groomer saying that my dog's hair was matted after he bathed and that they'd have to shave him. He accused me of not brushing the dog which I do on a regular basis. To get the awkward call over I reluctantly said to go ahead and shave. About 10 minutes later, I got a call from a man named Jose who told me that my dog snapped at him when he was trying to brush him and then Jose said "I ain't got time for that." I felt such a horrible feeling and immediately told them I would be over to get my dog. Jose told me my dog was wet but that he would dry my dog at least. When I got there, a lady came out to meet me. I told her I was there to pick up my dog. She went back inside to what sounded like a chorus of dogs howling and moaning and came back out with mine. When he saw me, he tried to run over to me but the poor little guy was all wet and slipping over the tile floor. He could barely run. They didn't even dry him at all. I asked how much I owed and the lady motioned me to just leave. I'm sorry this review is lengthy, but I hope other pet parents of rescue dogs who may require a little more tender care will read this to see how this place treats certain dogs. They will not take their time to groom the dog. They didn't even dry mine and handed him back to me. He was cold and wet and got my car seat wet because I didn't expect this. Now his hair is truly matted since it wasn't even dried. They made things worse for my dog. They treated us both like dogs. As Jose told me honestly they "ain't got time for that." read more
