SO unprofessional and rude. He told me it would be 4 hours to groom my dog. I simply asked what takes so long, and he said it's because he has to do all the other dogs first & pointed to the others. I asked why I brought her so early then, if he has all these other dogs to do first. He replied with, "if that doesn't work for you you can go somewhere else." I most definitely will be!!! UPDATE: it's 2 days later, and because of the above, initial review, the owner is threatening his lawyer on me. He texted me and said it was defamation (screenshot attached). Please note that in his text to me, he said it takes 4 hours because "I take my time", but when I went in in-person to drop my dog off he said it's because he had to do all the other dogs first. My review was not even in reference to his grooming process, it was in regard to his attitude when I asked him more about it. I was trying to understand it better, and he was rude/standoffish. I think it's very sad that, instead of trying to make things right with a potential customer, this man chose to instead say "my lawyer will call you" and threaten to "expose me." Oh well. Again, screenshots attached of the conversation. He also called me "pretentious" and "privileged", which is funny considering I don't come from much & have worked hard my whole life. Raymund is a fantastic groomer, and has taken care of my two poms for over 2 years now. Raymund is extremely hard working and does so himself so I'm very glad anytime I ask him to take in my guys he makes time for them. Both of my dogs can be a handful when I'm not around particularly one of them is very touchy about his hair that's constantly getting tangled, and Raymund has always returned them to me hair ball free! read more

We take both of our furbabies, Moo and Groot, here. Raymond is unbelievably wonderful. Moo started with Raymond at just 6 months old and Raymond made sure to take his time with Moo's grooming. Puppies are really sensitive to grooming procedures and Raymond made sure to give him breaks in between so that he felt comfortable through the entire process. I consider a visit to Raymond has an excuse for the pups to get socialized and hang out with the other dogs there for grooming appointments. You know what's amazing is that Moo is always VERY excited to see Raymond. His tail is always wagging as soon as we get to the shop. Raymond treats Moo like he's his own dog and always sends me progress photos to let me know how the appointment is going. Groot is our second baby, he's 4 months old now. Raymond started him off with a mini groom just to get him used to the routine. It's really unbelievable how great he is with our pups. By the way, Raymond is not only our go-to groomer but he also is the go-to groomer for two of my coworkers, who have two precious babies of various sizes. One last comment, Raymond is a very real, caring groomer. He will let you know if you should be doing daily grooming for your dog (brushing, detangling, cleaning ears, etc.). He genuinely cares about the health of your dog and wants your dog to be a happy creature. Again, I'm going to repeat... his job is to care for your dog. If he gives you feedback about how to better take care of your dog through daily techniques, take his advice. After all, this business is his career (aka he is a professional groomer). read more

Idk where these people come from who hype this place up but this was the WORST customer service experience I've ever had. My dog was here for two hours before he called me only to tell me that he couldn't groom my dog and I needed to pick her up. After seeing a picture of her a week prior to the appointment, discussing the type of dog she is, her coat and what cut would be best, plus dropping her off and confirming the cut in person, he calls me two hours after dropping off my dog off to rudely tell me he can't groom border collie types and told me he can only bathe her or I can pick her up. Who does that?!!!!!!!!! He never even apologized for his terrible service, terrible communication, the huge inconvenience, and wasting my time!!! Don't ever make the mistake of bringing your dog here. The place is a complete JOKE. And for the record, I tried a different place who was able to fit me a few days later and had ZERO issues. I am very happy with Luma's, my golden retriever, hair cut. Raymond did an excellent job. The last cut we had on her ended up in a full-body shave leaving a fluffy squirrel tail (I won't name the place that did that to her....but it's a midtown joint that no longer has a good groomer). Raymond gave me tips for when we bathe her and how to treat her coat between grooms. That was a first for me. Raymond's place is great, too. He has an open space for the dogs to relax between and after their cuts. Luma was very happy being in the open space rather than in a crate. We will definitely be going back to him. Raymond, the owner of Pups and Tubs, must be some celebrity dog whisperer or something, because this dude transformed our homeless looking dog into some sort of bourgeoisie Animal Planet fashionista. His hands -- they're gifted. My girlfriend found Pups and Tubs through Yelp, and it's hard not to notice an establishment with thirteen reviews and five stars. So of course we had to try (especially since it's located in Midtown). And once she setup the meeting, it was my responsibility to deliver and retrieve (ha ha ha) our pup from Raymond. Raymond's establishment is located on Monroe in a very short block of businesses. (Google or Apple maps will take you to the back of the building, which is incorrect.) To find Pups and Tubs, look for some stuffed animal dogs on top of a table outside of his doors. Once you enter, step over the doggy barrier, provide the appropriate contact information to Raymond, drop off your pup, and return when he calls. For us, it took about four to five hours. When I picked up our dog Cranberry, I paid via Square. It allowed me to provide a tip, too. He also did an amazing job grooming her, and now Cranberry gets even more compliments on our daily walk through Piedmont Park. The dog grooming package includes the following: -Hair cut. -Nail trim. -Anal gland expression. -Balm on paws. -Bath -Brushing of the teeth ($10 extra.) New to Atlanta and saw great reviews for this place on Yelp. I ran through what I wanted when I dropped them off, or at least tried too. Raymond likes to talk and doesn't do well with listening. Wasn't too happy when I picked them up. He cut my westie's coat extremely short (I said short but not that short and not his entire coat) and he didn't cut my jack russell's coat at all. It's been only two weeks and my westie's bangs are already in his eyes. You have your dear little pooch child whom you love and cherish, but at some point they become smelly and/or also overly hairy and need a good bathing and grooming, but who do you take your precious cargo to? My 100% recommendation would be to take them to Raymond. He is a kind, caring individual who truly loves what he does and is an artist. I LOVE Raymund! Just finished our second visit and the dogs smell so good I actively want to smell them! I have a senior Pug and a pretty active Australian Shepherd--so very different grooming needs and temperaments--and they both do so well with him! Raymund fills the grooming session with toys and plenty of belly rubs. It's clear he loves dogs and takes so much pride in his work. My pug is also a little escape artist, so dropping him off anywhere (especially close to a busy road) gives me a mild heart attack, but Raymund has multiple layers of protection (crates, baby gates, dead bolted doors) to keep your pups safe inside. When I pick up the pups--which takes a few hours, but I appreciate the time to myself!--they are happy and so cute in their matching bandanas. They also sleep for hours afterwards, so I know they had fun with him all day! He also gives you tips to maintain their grooming until the next visit. This is the first ever yelp review I have written but Raymond is so great I just had to write. When Cooper's last groomer said Cooper snapped at him and that I should take Coop to the vet to get sedated to be groomed, I knew I had to find a new groomer. After reading the glowing reviews Raymond received on Yelp I decided to give him a try. Raymond is amazing! Not only is he a very experienced and talented groomer, he has a great way with the dogs and knows just how to handle them-its like he is a dog whisperer. His passion for his work and love of dogs is obvious. Cooper came out looking adorable with his new haircut from Raymond plus Raymond sent me a picture and showed me a video of him grooming Cooper and Coop was being a perfectly behaved little guy. There is plenty of free parking right in front of Pups and Tubs and also behind the store which is a big plus. Raymond works by appointment only and is very mindful of your pet's security as shown by the gates inside the shop and always locked doors. You certainly can have peace of mind leaving your doggie with Raymond knowing he/she will be safe, secure and come out looking adorable under Raymond's care. read more

There is simply no reason (other than financial, which is real) to go anywhere else. Raymond is a freaking artisan at his craft. Truly. He actually repremanded me when I went to pick my pup up for not cleaning his ears more often. Said it's very painful for dogs. I wanted to hug him. This guy cares deeply for each little one that is in there. And yes, he's a bit more expensive for the grooming, but that's just it, he does much more than groom. He expunged the anal glands, deep cleaned the ear cavities and gave a great assessment of things to keep an eye on. I will not be going anywhere else unless I'm re-assigned to a remote village on the other side of the planet. And if so, maybe I'll fly him out every 4-6 weeks. He's that good. read more

Raymond at Pups and Tubs is the best groomer that I've ever used for my dog, Abby. We've been going to Raymond for almost 3 years now. I wouldn't take Abby anywhere else. Abby is a very active 45# mixed breed and no one but Raymond can handle her in such a kind and gentle way. He's meticulous in his service, with bathing, nails and the works. He clearly loves dogs and can creatively distract Abby while he's cutting her nails. Abby loves going to see Raymond! She's gets excited when I tell her she has an appointment. I have been using Raymond for my grooming ever since he was at Piedmont Bark. At the time I had a chow chow, you now how that could be, he is the only one that ever made her look adorable with her cut. She was also very shy and aloof and had no issue with Raymond. When I heard he left I was so happy to hear he was still in the area and started his own small business. I immediately booked with him for my long coat chihuahua. He has a kind heart and a calming presence and I have always completely trusted him. With my senior chihuahua, I always ask if she bit him since she doesn't let me do anything to her and he says she was great. I will add, if you are looking for a luxury spa for your dog that churns many dogs through, this is not the place. I understand he is a one man show and focuses on his customer care and meticulous grooming skills and that is why I go back all the time and don't even consider anyone else. read more
