I've been taking my papillon and one of my very long haired cats here for years for grooming and I must say, they always do a fabulous job! They are so thoughtful of the stress it causes my cat to be there and always make sure he's put in a quiet location until I'm able to pick up. They're also very accommodating to my crazy schedule. Very disappointed in the service reveived. My dog's ear was significantly nicked during the grooming process and it was described as minor -- though it was not. On follow-up, it was explained away as something that happens once in a while. Unacceptable. I was told this after I had paid and tipped for service. Not to return again. read more

We boarded our dogs here starting Friday and picked them up today (Sunday). They made us pay for 3 nights because we picked up afternoon. They did not have AM pick up availability due to the holiday. This was not communicated when I got the quote. We were told the price of two nights. read more

Really like the staff at puptown lounge. They know all the dogs and seem to really develop a relationship with each dog. Its also nice that you don't need to schedule an appointment for daycare. The price for daycare is comparable to most other daycares we've taken our dog. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because it appears the dogs are held in an area that contains small rocks or pebbles rather than concrete or turf or whatever. Our dog leaves with significant dust and dirt on her paws and her fur too. But its not a big deal. The staff, price, and convienence make up for it. read more

We were so disappointed!! We specified that we didn't want our goldendoodle shaved, yet they shaved her. We brush our dog with three brushes each day and the hair cutter was demeaning telling us basic brushing practices that we already know. The cut was expensive and the hair cutter didn't talk afterwards regarding our impressions. read more

We started taking our puppy Willow here about a month ago and she loves it! We initially chose here because it's close to our place and they open at 6:30 which is awesome considering we both have to be at work at 7am. Pretty much every other puppy daycare I called/talked to opens at 7 on the dot which is too late for us to be able to drop her off. We have always been satisfied with her care here and I love that they post pics on Instagram and Facebook so I can see them while I'm at work. I call to check on her on my lunch break and always love the little updates they give me. Willow gets her exercise for the day and comes home so tired she sleeps all evening (which is great!). Would definitely take your dog/puppy here for daycare or boarding! read more

We have been bringing our dog Fia to Puptown Lounge for over 4 months now and they have been such a lifesaver for us. We started bringing her in because of her severe separation anxiety issues, but were worried that since she is a nervous rescue pup she might not do well in this type of setting. After just a few visits and I'm sure lots of help and encouragement from the staff, Fia absolutely loves going to daycare. We figured we would quit bringing her once her anxiety calmed a bit, but she enjoys going so much that I can't imagine stopping. It's definitely her favorite part of every week and it's so nice to see her run in each day like she can't wait to play. Thanks again everyone- you are very appreciated! read more

I'm writing this review solely because I would have liked to read one like it before leaving my new pup here. The staff is mostly friendly and you can tell they really mean well. When I first arrived, I expected maybe a bit more chatting about how they intended to introduce my pup to the group, how they broke up skirmishes with other dogs, etc. However, it was a very brief check of the vaccination records followed by a "pick-up is anytime before 7" -- then my pup was taken back. When I gave kind of a confused look and asked if I could take a quick tour our something, the front desk attendant said something along the lines of "we usually don't give tours until the end of the day, but i'll see what I can do". He was ultimately able to take me back after a few minutes, but I felt like a nuisance. Maybe its too much to want to see the space your pup is being left at for the first time... I dont know. I picked him up and he had a pretty decent puncture wound (about the width of a #2 pencil) in his cheek that has now healed up finally after being scabbed over for about 3 weeks. I'm sure these things happen all the time, but it wasnt even shared with me -- I just discovered it on the way home. Pups play rough, and a puncture wound isn't a huge deal, but a "Hey, he got nipped a bit, but this is normal" would have been nice. There were some other small things. I was told when I picked up the first day that he "played completely fine". On the second time I took him, I was told he "played much better this time, during his first visit he pretty much hid out under a chair the entire time. Seems to be getting more comfortable". I understand at the end of the day these are dogs -- but I think these employees might forget during the hustle and bustle that dogs are like kids to some folks. These things, combined with the lack of web cams, have unfortunately left me uncomfortable to leave my pup here. read more

Moving from out of state, I had to find a new boarding facility. I was really hopeful about this place. Lots of great reviews, my friends take their dogs here, and I liked how thorough the questionnaire was for new clients. It seemed like they really wanted to find out what the dogs like and that they really care about the dogs. I do think they mean well, however, I am not very confident that my dog had a good stay here. First, check in went fairly smoothly for being during morning rush hour. They checked our information, took our food, and toys. Usually, places ask some questions, but I was feeling fairly good about leaving my dog here while I went out of town. Upon return, the lady checked me out without much talking and no report of how my dog's stay went. She just took my money, gave me the food, then they gave me my dog. I was a little confused. The bag of food seemed pretty full, so I am not really sure if she was fed her own food. We had to deal with days of diarrhea afterwards either from stress or new food or both. I got to the car and noticed my dog (and now my car) reeked of pee. I'm not sure why they did not give her bath, I was fully aware of a charge for that and thought we were signed up for it. While I gave her a bath, I noticed that she had two small puncture bite wounds on her neck, and very light scratches on her nose. I understand that dogs get rough during play or sometimes have little fights, but the fact that I was not notified the day of the incident or at check-out, really irritates me and seems a little shady and unprofessional. After the incident, did my dog sit in her kennel (in her own piss) the whole time? Or was she forced to be in an uncomfortable daycare every day? Who knows? Because I didn't get a report or a call. The people seem really nice but it might be beneficial for them to learn about dog behavior. The amount of dogs in one little room can be overwhelming to some dogs. They should probably break it up in to different sessions. They should also do a temperament test of every dog before they go into daycare and make sure they can play nice and enjoy their time there. This is a requirement for most kennels before they are allowed in daycare. I am also a little upset my dog's collar was left on the entire time. That is a safety hazard during daycare/boarding and not to mention my NEW, beautiful collar is stained and fraying. I even asked before I left if they take it off and they said yes we just keep it with her stuff. I guess they were referring to her leash and harness. So I will not be bringing my dog back here, and if asked I will not recommend it to others. If you have a puppy I would really recommend getting proper socialization for you dog with a professional trainer because it is a very crucial time in their life where they are learning about life and how to handle it. Daycare that is not properly run could potentially be a very intimidating to some dogs and if they have a bad experience your dog could potentially become reactive or fearful towards other dogs. If you are just trying to get your puppy some exercise while you are at work, I would suggest a dog walker or another facility that seems to have more rules in place for daycare. I really wish I saw the 3 star review who also had a similar daycare experience. I might've thought twice about coming here. read more

My dog loves going to Puptown! We use them for everything. daycare, grooming, boarding- it's great! Our pup has LOTS of energy and when he goes to daycare he always comes home happy and TIRED! The groomers are great, and I can add daycare to the groom so he can play with his friends after he gets his hair cut (this is perfect for work days). The owners and employees are wonderful, it's always very clean and tidy and I love that I can save money on daycare by purchasing a package of several days! read more

We've taken our goldendoodle to puptown several times for grooming and we've had such a wonderful experience every time. The groomers listen to how we would like his hair cut and I've never been dissatisfied. We recently boarded him for the weekend and he seemed to have a great time. We have 2 black labs. We've tried lots of place and Puptown is the best. My dogs are always excited to go into the store whereas when I'd pull up to a previous groomer in Grandview one of my labs started shaking....clearly stopped going there. Called yesterday at 10am for last minute appointment and for $80 both dogs washed, blown dry, brushed, toenails clipped, glands expressed, and always a snazzy bandana upon exit. PIcked them up at noon. People there are great and seem to care about animals. read more

We just brought our golden retriever home from another great day at Puptown. She got to run around and get rid of some pent up energy. She came home freshly groomed and smelling nice. We've known the owners for years -- watched them grow up around dogs and have always been comfortable trusting our canines to them. read more

We recently moved to the Columbus area so we were entirely unsure of where to board our dog. After checking out a few places, we decided this was the place to bring our yellow lab for a long weekend. The staff was super friendly, however, after we picked him up, we realized he had hotspots (note: no previous experience with hotspots) forming on his elbows and he smelled strongly of urine. In addition, his underside was caked in dirt/urine and his paws were sore. This was very discouraging for us, as we had initially been super excited to bring him to the Lounge; it was very clean and appeared to be very well-staffed. The condition in which our dog came home in has most certainly deterred us from boarding there ever again... read more

I just picked my dog up from having him groomed here, I was looking for a new groomer and a potential doggy day care place. After the experience I've had today, I would never return for any services provided. My dog is a puppy and has only been groomed by one other person ever, I did extensive research for a groomer in the area. First of all, the groomer was unfriendly. I asked her to keep his coat as long as possible and just a trip around his face. I understood he had mats in his coat but requested he NOT be shaved down. As I was walking in to pick my dog up, the groomer walked out past me and didn't even acknowledge me. The manager charged me and made indications that my dog was cut down quite a bit more than I asked. I said I understood, but had no idea until I saw my dog that they did the complete opposite of what I asked. I honestly didn't even recognize my dog, he's a fluffy goldendoodle normally and now looks like a greyhound. His entire head, ears and face was shaved along with his body. The manager made continued excuses about the mats and that the groomer did what she had to do. I was extremely upset that they couldn't even call me to ask/let me know what the plan for him was since his coat was going to be so drastically different. They didn't offer any refund despite me obviously being upset. As I got home, I noticed my dog had red burns with bloody patches on his testicles and inner legs he wouldn't stop licking. I called back to notify the manager who continued to make excuses for the burns on my dog saying that when skin gets irritated it's normal for burns and blood. After calling back, the manager offered a 50% discount which is appreciated but doesn't make up for the burns and complete disrespect of not being called to ask to cut that much hair off. I was excited to find a local place that had seemingly good reviews and now will never return. I would recommend taking your pet anywhere but Puptown for grooming. read more

I can't speak for how this place is for small dogs, but as a "big dog" owner I would not recommend this place. The staff is very nice but the play areas are way too small and overcrowded for big dogs. The outside space is minimal. We boarded our dog for 3 nights. She has a lot of anxiety about storms, so we sent her anti-anxiety meds with her. When we came to pick her up, she had rubbed her nose raw trying to get out of the crate. The employee tried to minimize her nose but after a visit to the vet, he said it was clearly from repeatedly nosing at the door of the crate. All of her anti-anxiety pills came home with her so clearly they did not medicate her as requested. Her pillow from home was soiled with urine and she has never had an accident at home and she's 7 years old! This place would be better served for small dogs. They are in over their heads with the number of big dogs they'll allow. We will never return to Puptown or recommend them. We were broken hearted at the state of our dog when we picked her up. read more

I would not bring my puppy or dog here if they paid me! I was horrified when my husband and I toured their facility. We began by walking in to a very loud hallway of dogs barking uncontrollably... My puppy was shaking in my arms due to the noise... They then showed us a time out room which was absurd... Next we were shown a room that held about 30 kennels where all dogs were kept awaiting pick up. The dogs were all crying and howling and I soon found out why. They were all in stacked kennels in a pitch black room with NO lights on and NO windows... When we entered the room the light was then turned on...I was very upset upon seeing this. The outside "play yard" is all gravel which is soooo dangerous for a dog as that is where most dogs injure themselves while running and and playing injuring themselves. They had no clue what I meant when I asked what their trainer:dog ratio is......! When dogs misbehave they are sprayed in the face with water... Not effective. Upon leaving I wanted to take each dog with me. It was awful. I have toured 3 other places since Puptown Lounge and have seen how amazing other places are! This place seemed like doggie daycare hell. read more
