Pupusas. See my review for options on the $1.25 Tuesday special.
    Noor M.

Pupuseria Emanuel Two different day review 3/7/22 Tuesday Special Pupusas for $1.25 I'll make sure next time I come back on a Tuesday You have to order at the counter, but they bring the food to you. The time frame to get your food is about twenty minutes, but it's definitely worth your time. They have Spanish Christian music playing in the background. I heard songs here I've never heard of but was delighted to hear. In the front of the store, they sell some cool swag if you're from El Salvador. They sell embroidered aprons, shirts, Jersey shirts, embroidered bags, and so much more. They also sell medicine from El Salvador. I tried the pupusas fajita, bean and cheese, and chicken and cheese. They were all delicious. My son had the Pollo a la plancha plate (Grilled Chicken plate). It had beans, rice, salad, and grilled chicken. It's was so fulfilling, healthy, and delicious. The tortillas were homemade and fluffy. Yumm yumm, in the tummy! 3/8/22 I highly recommend trying them out, but BEWARE, I came back on a Tuesday, and the following was my observation; Tuesday Special $1.25 Pupusas Only on: Chicharrón con queso (pork & cheese) Calabaza con queso (squash & cheese) Pollo con queso (chicken & cheese) Frijol con queso (beans & cheese) Everything else has another price The food is excellent. I am taking away a star because they do not have a list of the four options on Pupusas that are on Special on Tuesday. I was under the impression that all Pupusas were $1.25 on Tuesday, but that's not the case, and my wallet paid the price. They had arroz con leche (dessert) nicely displayed by the cash register/counter. They were $2.00 each. I bought two, and it was delicious. OVERALL- good food must try!

    Chicharron or trash?
    Jose Q.

Trash 100% if El Salvador is like this believe me i never want to visit. Spoiled red sauce! Re-cooked chicharones and bad customer service! No one wanted to help and make this right! And also the yucca was re-fried! smh!!!

So sad not to able to try your food! On a Friday night at 9:42pm I called to place my todo order the lady on the phone said to me We can't take order now because we closed at 10:00. We'll but is 9:42 I said. She said we are cleaning already so is to late to take take your order . I told her is fine thanks. My concern is if you don't take orders after 9:42 just call google and ask them to change your business hour otherwise client are going to keep calling you. At the same I'm happy to not being able to try your food after I see your photos reviews I see some one complaints about finding a cucaracha in your food. That's not good at all. After looking for another place to order my dinner I found antojitos salvadoreños 12 min away from my location I call in at 9:48pm they took my order very happy and friendly staff and they also closed at 10:00 I dot arrive to the place at 10:00 exactly and my food was ready. That's the way to go. Good service and loyalty. They also turn off the sign 1min after I walked in Please excuse my bad typing Check the cucaracha photo

So the pupusas were delicious. Tried the chicharron, pollo con queso, and the squash one. All were enjoyable. The staff is friendly. Helps if you know some Spanish. Major cons were that the wait is long. The place itself truly is a hole in the wall, but honestly, a few things could really clean it up a little to make it feel more sanitary. Minor cons: would have been better with more meat and less cheese. The squash pupusa was pretty skimpy on the squash. Overall, this place is a little outside the city. I wouldn't say it would be worth a special trip to check it out.

Pan con pollo or sanguche de gallina. I go about 3 times a week just for this dish! Its the best and the only place they serve it at.

This place is amazing. These are the kind of pupusas your grandmother would've made if she made pupusas. The curtido is great & crunchy.

Our server was super attentive and he made sure that everyone's food and drinks came out at the same time even if someone came in later. I had the nachos with beef fajita and chicken, and I thought it was pretty good, it has the same set up as nachos from Pappasito's and my only complaint was that I asked for a side of sour cream to go and was charged a dollar for it. So if anything keep in mind that if you request an extra or even a condiment on the side, you might get charged a small fee.

The food was under average. 2 of us had the Tilipia dish and the flavor was good but it was super salty. If the chef cut down on the salt it would be excellent. The vegetables on the dish were nice. We couldn't eat the fish even though we asked for extra lime so we can squeeze on it. The shrimps dish was over cooked so the shrimps were too dry. The steaks were barely OK But the appertizers were good. We had pupusas and the plaintain Service was nice but we had to flag down the manager since our server was no where to be seen.

I went there due to seeing their instagram story about a $10 meal deal (2 pupusas, a pastelito, and a soda) but they had run out of pastelitos so I had to quickly choose something so I'm thankful that they were happy to help answer any questions. It's a small food truck located in the same parking lot with Fiesta off Paton and Cavalcade so there's no seating or real space to eat (unless you eat in your car). They're also honest about the wait time. They said it would take 15-20 minutes and they didn't go over their time estimate. I have only had pupusas a handful of times (I'm from a small town in WA state that only had Mexican restaurants since only Mexicans lived there, so don't judge ) and can say these were the best I've had thus far. They were freshly made and piping hot when I got them (I had to put the bag down from my lap because it was too hot) and remained so throughout eating them. The cheese was gooey and stringy and their salsa has a nice little kick to it. It wasn't greasy or too salty which is always a plus. I ordered the revueltas (pork & cheese) and added beans to them. They are HUGE so be mindful when ordering them (they also taste better the next day if you have any leftover). These were definitely worth the price. I would recommend this place to anyone who asks if I know where they sell good pupusas. Let's just say I'll be going in again (they're so close to me). I hope y'all enjoy.

New favorite coffee/study spot in Houston! This place is (I…read morethink?) in Montrose area, and a gem with parking both in front (with spaces) and street parking available. The baristas/servers are so friendly, and the shop truly feels homey. Perfection for studying, with inside ample tables/chairs with nearby outlets as well as some comfy chairs and a couch. There's also a cute covered outside area which I'm sure I'll experience post summer time. They have a few yummy looking food options at a great price point - including tamales and baked pastries. I picked the chicken tamale as a light lunch - I got the most delicious chicken tamale I've had thus far, served with kettle crinkle chips and a tamale sauce to dip. There are many coffee/non coffee options. I opted for the iced horchata latte - agree with prior reviewers that this is delish. It is not too sweet and a great blend of vanilla and cinnamon that masks the espresso. The atmosphere here is cozy but focused, with a mixture of people working/studying and hanging out. 10/10 will be back.
