Piedmont Food & Market - Fresh beef, rice, beans, and pupusas!

My fiance and I needed to stop in somewhere for a quick bite on our long stretch back home to…read morefredericksburg from Leesburg and were pleased to find a great food selection! A staff member (pretty sure he's the owner but don't wanna assume) asked us if we needed any help and explained the diverse menu options and explained the grab & go food options as well. I was going for pupusas from the heated food case but he let me know there were some fresh ones coming out and explained the different fillings. I took the fresh pupusas and then he made sure I didn't leave without the Curtido to go with it. Every staff member was kind and helpful! The food was great. I will absolutely make a stop in here any time I'm visiting my family in Leesburg. Friendly service and good food can brighten your whole day :)

I've visited the Piedmont Food & Market a couple of times now - both times for breakfast stuff…read more It's a small convenience store/gas station - with a food counter in the back. They gas station portion of the business is currently Exxon - but at some point not to long ago - it used to be a Valero. They pre-make their breakfast stuff and keep it in a warmer. Last time I was in - the warmer contained a couple of breakfast burritos, and one sausage, egg, and cheese on a Croissant. I asked if they do special orders - the response was yes. I ordered two breakfast sandwiches (all food/orders are to go - as there is no seating to eat in). The first sammie was bacon, egg, and cheese - on a croissant - with extra bacon and extra cheese; and the second sammie was sausage, egg, and cheese on a Croissant - with extra sausage and extra cheese. I also bought one of the pre-made breakfast burritos. After getting on the road - I was very hungry, so I tore into the Bacon, egg, and cheese croissant. It did have extra bacon - but the bacon was way overcooked. It basically was crumbling out of the sandwich.. I consumed the Sausage, egg, and cheese sammie later at home. I reheated it - and slightly charred the croissant in the toaster oven (it did not come that way). Tasty, but it did not have the extra cheese I requested. Ironically, the pre-made breakfast burrito from the warmer - was better than either of the breakfast sandwiches. It contained sausage, eggs, cheese, potatoes, onions, etc. I'll give them another try sometime soon - to see if they fare better. They weren't terrible - but they could have been better. Paid with Apple Pay. Service was good. #PiedmontFoodAndMarket

I remember trying Royal Farms in Maryland (Frederick) & having a great experience & fried chicken…read more So being in Ashburn, VA today, let's try it! Ordered 3 piece white (Breast & 2 wings) added a chicken tender, came with biscuit and ordered side of slaw. The chicken tender was hot, fresh and juicy. Good quality chicken but the seasoning & flavor was lacking. Needed the hot sauce. 7/10 Tried the biscuit next. It was hot. Crispy on the outside, soft & fluffy on the inside. But lacking in buttermilk or butter and salt. The texture was good but flavor, lacking. 6/10 Coleslaw....just bad. Thick and creamy full of mayo. A bit sweet. Crunch initially but cause of so much thick sauce, started to get soft. 1/10 "Western" Fries... not good. Coated in seasoning with no flavor. Flabby and not soft & fluffy inside. Bad. 0.5/10 Fried chicken. Crispy outer coating but again, lacking in seasonings (herbs & spices). The breast was hot but dry. Maybe sat around. Wings were better but again, lacked seasoning. 5/10 This was not the Royal Farms experience I remembered in Frederick, Maryland. Maybe just the location was the issue. Can't imagine it was Royal Farms as a whole. Might needed a surprise taste/quality check once in a while to keep the location honest & consistent. Food is edible but barely. SEASON YOUR FOOD WITH HERBS AND SPICES.
