Kind of struggling to write this review because while I had a pretty good workout, I think their 50 minute intro engage class could use some feedback. I have been working out consistently (Pilates and pole) for a few years and I found this "intro" class to be challenging and, at times, confusing. It's so important to understand how to cue correctly to prevent injury and unfortunately the instructor I had just wasn't very effective at this. Multiple times I looked around the room to see all of us in different positions and there were no hands on corrections to help folks move into the correct form. I really value understanding the correct technique so I thought this was a missed opportunity. The only reason I could understand how to correct myself and my form was because another instructor was taking the class with me so I would look at them when I was confused. For someone who is maybe just getting in to working out, I could see this class being rather defeating and would not encourage me to come back. It's just not a true "intro" class where you are walked through the basics. To her credit, the instructor had amazing energy and did a great job keeping us all engaged and excited. I also like this studio generally, it's very clean and there's plenty of parking. Hopefully I will come back and try a few different instructors until I find the right fit. I just can't honestly recommend it to a newbie just getting into barre/working out.

For any newcomers to the area, your first class with Pure Barre - Irvine is complementary. I signed up for them through ClassPass and I think I prefer this Irvine location over the Tustin location. This location is located off Sand Canyon and the 405. In that busy plaza they are on the side with Chase Bank and Nekter. For your first visit, I recommend you arriving at least 10 minutes early to sign off on the typical studio waivers. They have studio equipment but you will need closed-toed grip socks (required) and water. The front has the receptionist desk upon entrance. To the right there are cubbies. I really like that the cubbies had varying sizes since I had a big purse with me and it wouldn't have fit well into the standard size cubbies. Wish was I able to take a photo but it got crowded so I didn't want to be inconsiderate. There was also a water refill station next to the cubbies. To the left of the entrance there was plenty of merchandise. Leggings, tops, grip socks, face masks, plenty of things to browse waiting for your next class. Through the doors you get the studio space. Mirrors on the front and side of the studio room. The room was painted white so it looks very open and large. To the back they have all the equipment. It varies depending on your instructor that day. I took their Classic class with Amanda and we needed weights, bands, a ball and towards the end mats. I really like Amanda's energy! She was super upbeat and motivational. If you've been to other Pure Barre classes the format is generally the same since they are a franchised studio. For folks who like a consistent format, it's really nice. For the classic class is a low impact full body barre workout with high intensity isometric movements designed to improve flexibility while toning your body. I can definitely see myself coming back here for future work outs. This location is further away from me than the Tustin location but I like the studio space and overall vibes a lot more. The ladies in the class were all fierce and beautiful! Their hard work is definitely paying off.

I went with a friend that wanted to sign up and got me a free-trial class. we went on Monday. The process was a bit confusing for the person trying it out. My friend had to input my info in to get me a free class. I can understand the process for this. Once she did, I received an email confirming they received my email address and details. Second email came to confirm my class date/time. When you open up the email, there's no address of the location, no links to click on to find much info. Barely any info on what to expect, what to wear/bring to the class. I had to ask my friend to send me the details. Even on their website, it's hard to find what you need. You'd think the basic info would be readily easy to find. I think they should look into updating their website to be more user friendly. I tend to not have interest with websites you have to hunt for info. Takes a lot out of your busy clicks. A few days before the class, I received a call confirming my attendance. On the day of the class like super early, I received another call to confirm I was coming that night. Arriving to the class, if you don't have the Gripe Yoga Socks you can't enter the classroom. I wish they let you know advance how much the socks were. The basic ones was $18 (pricey) for someone who doesn't know if they want to sign up or not. I think they should have a less pricey options for those maybe never coming back. Our instructor, Sofia (Sophie) was really nice. She asked if I had any type of injuries she needed to be aware of so she could help to modify the workout. She was GREAT with showing me what to do to avoid additional injuries. Thumbs up for her and her training style. I definitely got a great workout from her class. She has a great music compilation, not too loud and just the right beats to keep you going. Her communication was easy to understand and she helped everyone get the positions right. Does it work! You betcha! I felt sore in places I never knew could get sore! It was a good painful sore as they really work the isolated areas. I see what the hype and benefits are. I'm not a huge fan of Yoga but I do like this style of workout better. VERDICT - I liked it a lot. Good workout and the hour went by very fast. Giving them a 3 star cuz their website sucks and their confirmations didn't have details that you should have. Please change your website to be more user-friendly. SPACE - Clean and simple on the aesthetic. At the end of the class, the instructor walked around with cleaning wipes to sanitize the equipment/mat you used during the class. I cleaned my stuff well, but not sure if everyone else does. I recommend you cleaning it before the class if you are a germaphobic. LOCATION - located in the Quail Hill Shopping Center, the directions will have you go in circles, just turn into the plaza and they are location next to the Nekter Juice Bar for convenient pre and post workout quenching.

Their Barre class is a great or should I say 'Tucking' awesome workout! If you're a stranger to Barre, it might take you a couple of classes to get the hang of the isometric pulses. But it definitely strengthens your core, lifts your butt and tones your legs. The music is loud and upbeat. The pace of the class is fast and the instructor does not have time to correct people's form and doesn't always do the poses so it's hard to mimic. However, the key is to try out different instructors. My first experience was mediocre but I'm glad I went back and tried a different instructor. She was pleasant and attentive to people's postures. I enjoyed her class! Towards the end of the class, the instructor walks around placing a spray bottle and wash cloth by each station to sanitize their equipment and mats. The floor is carpeted which I thought was odd but yesocks are required. Best to get socks with a grip. There are no showers.

One of the best Pure Barre Studios I have been to. I've moved around quite a bit, through that and travel have been to over 15 different studios and have lost count of the number of different instructors. The staff and clients are all so friendly and inviting! There are 3 class choices you can take. Classic, Reform and Empower. If you've never taken the class, they offer a Foundations class every so often for beginners. This is by far the best workout I've tried. It works all the areas I want to tighten up, arms, core, legs and seat. I have never been stronger.

She is so engaging. She was asking the students how we were feeling, if there were injuries, if there were any areas we wanted to focus on. Based on our feedback, she designed the class accordingly. This takes a lot of experience to do that on the spot. I loved the class pace and the music. Such a great work out! I would definitely come back whenever my schedule allows me to visit this studio. Unfortunately, we had a very unpleasant interaction with an instructor named Anika after class today. My husband came with me as my guest. The app wouldn't allow me to check him in because it said he hadn't signed a waiver. However, we took a class together last Saturday and this wasn't required then, so the process was confusing. This was only his second time attending as my guest. After class, we were asking the instructor we took our class with and the instructor for the next class, Anika, on how to go about the process of signing the waiver and checking in. Anika's tone was very rude and condescending. Eventually we ended up in the corner area with the instructor from the class we had just taken, who was kindly helping my husband create an account and sign the waiver. While this was happening, Anika approached us and told us that we needed to leave because her class was starting. At the same time, she also insisted that my husband had to sign the waiver before we could leave. This was confusing because her class hadn't even started yet--the clients were still arriving--and we were already in the process of completing what she said needed to be done. The issue wasn't the policy itself, but the way it was communicated. Her tone was rude and condescending toward my husband and our friends who were with us. My husband and two friends, who have also been taking classes here with me for years, were all surprised by how we were spoken to. We've never experienced this type of interaction with any other instructor at the studio. We truly enjoy this studio and the Lagree classes, which is why this interaction stood out so much. I was literally the first person to review Club Pilates UTC on Yelp over 3 years ago, and I gave…read morethem 5 stars. That's what makes writing this now even more disappointing. As of the end of this month, I will no longer be a member, and here's why. First, hygiene is a serious issue. The studio is consistently unclean and only gets properly addressed after repeated complaints. There are ant and roach traps in multiple corners, which speaks for itself. Over the years, I've raised concerns--politely and alongside other members--and only then does anything get cleaned. It shouldn't take persistent complaints to maintain basic standards. Look up at the vents and you'll see heavy dust buildup on the AC filters. This has been brought to management's attention for months, yet nothing changes. Meanwhile, the floors often have visible hair and dust, and mirrors are covered in fingerprints. When they do clean, they use overpowering, chemical-heavy products, which feels counterproductive in a space meant for health and wellness. Instructor quality has also declined significantly. Several excellent instructors have left, and the replacements have been inconsistent at best. In one class, I was introduced to a move that felt unsafe. When I asked about it afterward, the instructor said she found it on TikTok. That alone was alarming. There have also been repeated instances of instructors teaching while visibly sick. I've personally had to leave class multiple times to avoid getting ill. Only after strong complaints did this change--and now it's replaced with last-minute cancellations. On one occasion, I was already in the parking lot when I received a cancellation call. No credit was offered, despite the inconvenience. The turnover rate of instructors over the past year has been extremely high, and it shows in the declining quality of classes. Cancellations are often announced at the last minute, sometimes right at the scheduled start time, with no clear accountability or compensation. The final issue that pushed me to cancel was being charged a $15 no-show fee--despite never having missed a class. When I reached out, I initially received no response. After multiple attempts, I was connected with someone identified as a VP, who claimed I had been refunded 5-6 times in the past six months. When I asked for specifics, only three dates were provided over my 3 years as a member, and the rest were never clarified. That lack of transparency was unacceptable. I ultimately contacted my credit card company to dispute the charge. After I explained the situation, they were surprised at how it had been handled and agreed the charge was erroneous. The fee was refunded, and they indicated they would follow up with Club Pilates directly. If a business is willing to lose a long-term customer over a $15 charge--and handle it this poorly--that says a lot. It's a shame it came to this. At this point, it's clear that member experience is not a priority. Between the cleanliness issues, inconsistent instruction, poor communication, and questionable billing practices, I can no longer justify staying. There are many well-run studios out there. If you're considering this one, I recommend taking a close look at the environment, the instructors, and how concerns are handled before committing.
