I'm a fan of checking out new places to get a workout in and decided to stop by with my sisters. The girls at the front were so friendly when we checked in and I wasn't sure what to expect as this was my first barre class. We had a pretty small class so the instructor was so great at making us feel welcome and correcting our forms as we went along. While it was pretty easy to follow along, you'll definitely be leaving with your muscles burning. I'll be sure to come back to this studio when I'm ready for another barre class. read more

Let me start with Kevin and Ali. And let me qualify with what I'm about to say with the experience of patronizing this studio well before COVID. It's been a minute. Every time I take a class, I am greeted with the most authentic and warmest smile by both Ali and Kevin. You'd would think that Kevin owns the place the way that he goes out of his way to make your experience perfect. His light really shines. He is authentically himself, and one of the added bonuses of taking this class is seeing him in the cutest outfits. The energy of the community that they've created at this Pure Barre is really something special. Ali sometimes brings her little raggedy dog, which is the cutest thing in the whole world. She takes her position as a business owner seriously, and often does events to give back to the community. She's an ally and makes sure that everyone is welcomed and protected in the safe space. The location is great, it's on the second floor of a strip mall and there's tons of parking. And you're a staircase away from Sprouts, Chase, Starbucks, Einstein's Bagels, and CVS. OK, now for what really matters... your ass. Pure Barre is going to make your butt and booty look amazing. Let me be clear, I hate actually doing Pure Barre, and it's so hard I can only do about 80% of the class because I have to take so many breaks. But that's what's so great about the studio, there are women of all ages and all shapes putting themselves first. I swear, if you do 10 days of classes within a month you will notice a real change in your body. I think I'm pretty banging for a mother of three that's addicted to cupcakes, pasta and Mexican food, and I credit a lot of that to Pure Barre. read more

I've been coming here for almost a year and I've never been to any exercise facility that I enjoy as much as this place. Since I started going not only my physical well-being improved, my mental focus, mood, everything has improved drastically. It's a game changer for me. What's special about this place is the instructors are personable, they correct your form, cheer you on, know you by name. Let's just say, Ali runs this place right. I spent quite a few months trying out different workout studios on the Westside before I settled on Pure Barre Culver City. I'm the type of person that can't work out at the gym on my own, since I lose motivation quickly, so many of my factors included cost, variety of classes, location, and convenience. The entire staff is very friendly and helpful. All the instructors are great and would correct everyone's form throughout the class. They also three types of barre classes (Classic, Reform, and Empower) so it helps me to take different ones throughout the week for variety. The classes/packages here (and pretty much at any barre studio) aren't exactly cheap, but luckily I was able to take advantage of a deal before the studio opened over the summer. If you go to consistently, then you will definitely see results! The location is very convenient for me since I live close by and usually go in the early morning when there's no traffic. Parking is free and much easier than any other workout studio I've been to on the Westside. read more

Wouldn't let me in with my personal scooter even though it is foldable and my only way of transportation since I don't have a car. Once folded it takes barely any space and I've never had an issue with it. Barely apologizing about it and took my name of the class. I rarely post a review on Yelp but this one is one that is very much deserved. Pure Barre Culver City is simply the best. The service is not only professional but friendly and inviting. They don't all all intimidate you which is so important when you are new to barre just as I am. Now for the workouts - the BEST I've ever had. I never knew muscles could shake like that. You feel so inspired and ready to do more after each class. The staff is highly trained, takes the time to help you adjust your positions (so you are doing them right), and they are the sweetest most kindest people I've met in the fitness industry. I never thought I would enjoy myself get tortured by the most incredibly nice people @ barre class (lol). Would highly recommend this place for those that are looking for a great low impact but high intensity workout. I would highly recommend the reformer class. A long overdue review! I have been a founding member since the studio opened in August 2019 and cannot express enough how much love I have for the instructors and members. It is such a warm diverse community that makes me feel supported, welcome, and able to achieve my fitness goals. I also feel very safe knowing that everyone who walks through the doors of the studio is vaccinated and for those who wish to wear a mask, it is a judgement free zone. I love that the classes are designed for all levels, and there is so much variety that I've never taken the same class twice. Special shout-out to Ali who always makes me sweat and laugh, Kevin who corrects my form and makes me shake, and Kelli's Reform kicks my seat with her energy and enthusiasm. Parking is insanely easy and plentiful (so rare in LA) and I've made a bunch of friends to boot. Cannot recommend highly enough! read more

I never thought I'd join a Pure Barre studio, but I loved the classes at the Platform pop ups and Prima, Allison, and Kevin were all super welcoming and encouraging. The studio has a great location right off the freeway and lots of parking as it's located in a plaza. I also love that the classes are on the 2nd floor with a great view of sunrise since I usually come in for the early morning class. It's a tough workout, but I've been improving and the teachers are all motivating and willing to explain or answer questions. The app is really easy for booking classes as well. Definitely recommend it if you're looking for a strength training workout! read more

Guess I'll get this studio rating going! When 2 of my favorite PB teachers left their old location I was so bummed. As fate would have it, they ended up joining to open the brand new PB in Culver City which happens to be right up the road my my work! Their studio may not be open just yet (coming mid August) by I took one of their pop up classes at Platform and still love their style of teaching the best - shout out to Kevin and Prima! Leave in pain but with a smile on your face! I absolutely love PB Culver City. I've been coming here for almost a year now and when I first started, I was a bit like some of you in the sense that I saw the word barre and was like: "I've never did ballet before in my life. I don't think this is for me." Oh, how wrong I was. After taking the introduction class, I jumped straight into the more intermediate classes and found myself loving every workout. The instructors are amazingly kind, helpful, and hilarious. They will correct your posture and stay behind class to explain any techniques you may not have got the first time around. I absolutely love the owner Alison for always creating a welcoming atmosphere from the moment you walk through the door and Haley, Laura, Kelly, Kevin, and Becca for not only providing such amazing workouts, but creating a fun atmosphere with upbeat music and jokes sprinkled along the way. The studio offers a diverse community with people of all ages and a range of experiences, some who are super well versed and others who are just starting out. Nobody judges you. It's an extremely comfortable environment. The workouts are as hard as you want them to be. Some days I find myself not being able to push myself as hard as others and that's okay. I've seen amazing results with my physique and strength even with only coming two to three times a week (sometimes skipping weeks because life gets in the way). I literally don't go to any other studio because I love how great everyone is here. I may leave in pain (and what I mean by that, I mean sore), but this place never fails to put a smile on my face. Even on my busiest of days. The studio is spotless, there's a ton of parking, they offer early morning and night classes, and they host little events on holiday's that truly solidify the community experience. There are three types of classes: classic (which is more on the barre side), empower (which is much more cardio/ HIIT with barre), and reform (think pilates reform minus the whole contraption). Even if you're a busy bee, you can come in to smash your workout and leave with no hassle. If you're hesitant on trying pure barre, I'd say give this studio a try. Ali is the best owner and teacher I've met, and the entire team here is so welcoming and makes this feel like a second home. The BEST Pure Barre studio. The owner and all of the instructors are INCREDIBLE, not just at what they do but as people. Coming to classes here is something I look forward to every day, and it's such a welcoming and wonderful community. Not to mention, the studio itself is beautiful. fyi - The studio is requiring proof of covid vaccination. I signed up for the intro class. The signup process was pretty simple and convenient. One thing they were not clear about was bringing proof of vaccination (it was not specified in the signup process or confirmation email). Every gym/studio I have been to in the last couple of months has not required proof of vax (I believe LA lifted the requirement in March '22). I had structured my day so I can attend the class. I've taken several thousand barre classes including almost every variation of barre over the past two decades and even though I live walking distance to exhale barre at the Fairmont Hotel with its luxurious sauna, steam room, showers, towels and sundries all included in membership, not only is Pure Barre the only barre I practice but Allison and her staff are by far the most extraordinary barre teachers I've ever experienced. The crème de la crème of barre, they are each very, very special. I followed them from another PB studio also walking distance from my home and even though I now sit in traffic for nearly an hour to attend their classes in Culver City I am thrilled that I can still do so. The studio is large and gorgeous on the second floor of the Sprouts shopping Center with dedicated parking also on the second level so you don't have to climb the stairs, but the entrance to the parking up there is a little tricky to find the first time, so if you are traveling east on the I-10 and exit at Robertson as soon as you make the first right onto Venice look for a steep ramp up on the right which is actually under the 10. You'll see it. If you are looking for a physical game changer take one of the Classic, Reform or Empower classes everyday for a month and watch your body transform. Everyone is very welcoming, and the teachers are very attentive and provide lots of personal form pointers. Also, there is no in-group or click type of feeling. I became instantly hooked on the touch of torture w/ a dash of femininity & fun - all set to fab tunes, of course. This review is long overdue. PB Culver City is the best studio! I'll start this review by saying that I have tried and done every type of workout there is. I have back issues and sciatica and most things trigger my injuries. Pure Barre has helped with the pain and actually made my injuries better and my body stronger without over doing it. This low impact but extremely effective workout has been my go-to for the past 5-6 years! I have never committed to a studio as long as I have with Pure Barre. PB Culver City is extra special as I followed the instructors here and I don't live near Culver City (shout out to Ali, Kevin and Michelle). With that said, I have taken other instructors and each one is fantastic! There is free and always available parking right outside of the studio. The studio also has large windows with natural light and cool views. Now to the best part: the instructors! They are AMAZING! You are always greeted with a warm smile, the class sizes are perfect and if you're new the instructor will help you get set up, ask about any injuries, and they will help you along the way and make modifications for any injuries. It's also a studio where there is absolutely NO judgement or competition. It's just a really supportive community of men and women. This studio is also perfect for any fitness level and after all of these years I'm still getting a strong workout each and every time! I saw results quickly and continue to see changes! The choreography is fun so you don't get bored and the music is fire! They offer 3 types of classes: classic, reform (think Pilates like) and empower (more cardio). The instructors at PB Culver City are experts at what they do and they are simply unparalleled!! read more

You know when you go to a particular class because the teacher is great so you schedule around that..the best part about this studio is that EVERY teacher is amazing so you don't have to try to work around that which is awesome :) When you walk in you are greeted with a friendly smile and it has such a warm welcoming energy about it! I don't really write reviews on Yelp, but I HAD to for this class. I took Ali's outdoor class on Saturday morning at 9 AM. It was INCREDIBLE. I've done Barre for 6 years and used to teach it in 2013-2014. I've never had such a wonderful barre teacher who was both on her shit and enthusiastic without pandering to her clients. I was nervous going to my first outdoor class at a studio I had never been to, but Ali made me feel really comfortable, gave me a cup of cold-ass water, sprayed SUNSCREEN on me (like what?) and then told me everything I needed to know. Not to mention she sent me an email with all the information I needed the day before class. She sprayed all clients with water sprayers the whole time because it was HOT. But it was the best barre class I've ever taken. It put me in such a good mood the whole day, I was like beaming. So I had to write a review. Thank you Ali, and thank you Pure Barre Culver City. I don't live that close to this studio, but I WILL be coming back. read more
