I have been to several Barre studios over the years, and I love how inclusive Barre3 feels (at both…read moreof the Nashville locations I've visited). Workout classes can be intimidating and having a forever injury that requires modification can make it feel even scarier however, the employees always make sure to welcome new people show them around. I find that before classes (particularly a more full class) there will be socialization between members/attendees and it's not just with people they know, rather with whoever is standing nearby. Of course no one is forcing conversations if people don't wish to be social, but it just feels extra welcoming. The instructors never make you feel left out or like a burden if you need modifications. Having done barre for a while, I'm pretty good at doing my own, however without signaling anyone out they'll offer and demonstrate different modifications for each move and encourage people to take what they need. It's nice to be reminded that this is your workout, and the way you do it doesn't have to fit perfectly into a certain look or move. They also offer hands on modifications, which you can tell them if you'd rather not receive them, but the modifications are never forceful (I think most group fitness people have experienced a modifications from a good intentioned teacher that was a little too zealous - that's never happened to me at Barre3). This is a great place for beginners, for people who are feeling a little alone on starting a fitness/barre journey, for regulars, and for all the in-betweeners. It's a welcoming and inclusive environment, that encourages modifications, all skill levels, and support where ever you need it. However, don't be fooled by all the niceness too much, because the workout will still absolutely kick your butt and is harder than you think - but it's delivered in a way that's always encouraging. Also, the free parking is a major plus of this location! You can park in the attached garage or street parking nearby. For the garage I use the call box and let them know I'm there for barre3 but make sure you get the door code from an employee before your visit, because you'll need that to enter the 2nd door.

Instructors and the front desk people know and learn your name, which makes you feel very welcome. As far as the exercise goes, it's a challenging class that actually gets harder the more that you go. Over the year, I've lost weight, feel stronger and overall better. Going to class has become a bit addicting. Another thing that I love about the Bar Method is that they offer a variety of classes that are easy to schedule online or on an app. It's easy to work into my daily schedule. Additionally, since I travel for work, I'm able to attend classes in other cities (for a fee). I've had a hard time sticking to other exercise because of my weird schedule. The other great thing about the class is that you don't necessarily sweat a whole lot-- I never feel like I absolutely have to shower afterwards. It sounds dumb, but it makes a huge difference in the amount of time taken out of your day. You are able to go to a noon class and then can go to a meeting at 1:30 and not look like a wreck. I encourage anyone looking into trying the program to sign up for a month and to go as often as you can. Going to one class does not do much for you, but attending 3-4 classes a week definitely makes a huge difference.

It isn't, but all barre studios are a little different, and I've come to really enjoy the classes at Neighborhood Barre! I've tried several of their classes - Barre HIIT is my favorite right now because I feel the effects of the workout for days! It's a good workout. The instructors are really great, helpful, nice. The music played is really fun and helps me focus on the workout. Some classes are more full than others, but it's not jam packed of people. They offer a trial two weeks for $29 - and I highly recommend you check that out if you're interested in barre or NB in particular. You can also sign up for drop in classes on the Mindbody app (which I love). There's ample parking in the area even if the area can be kind of a pain to drive around (I always regret not leaving 10 minutes before I think I should if the class I'm aiming to get to is between 4 and 6, because I will inevitably hit every red light on Franklin Road for the whole drive). All in all, it's a really good studio. The classes are all different, so check them out until you find the one you love!

Lauren helped me get settled, showing me the studio space, cubbies to put items in, and introduced me to Margy. Margy was so kind helping me feel supported before, offering modifications and support during, and checked in with me after. It was a packed house, almost too crowded for my comfort, but it did not prevent me from participating fully and makes sense as it was a 5:45p class. I can tell there is such a strong and supportive community here with no judgement, I signed up for a 2 week trial to see if it may be a good fit for me. I felt super empowered after and today while I was sore (it had been a while since I was active) I am happily feeling motivated to keep going, it's a good sore!

I was blown away by the skill & support of the Align 60 instructor, Leah, she was by far one of the best courses I have ever taken. I really loved the gentleness and invitations to modify as needed, as well as, having a in classroom support to the instructor to come around and assist with posture, I feel so bad but I have forgotten her name. It was my first time using straps, but thankfully I was supported. All the other classmates were kind and there was enough space for everyone, even though it was pretty full. I failed to take any pictures as I wanted to be present to the moment, but one beautiful offering is a tea station near the restrooms, cubbies to place items, and a lavender cool face towel at the end of class.
