What turned a routine cancellation into a negative experience was not the existence of policies, but the way the situation was handled. Communication was delayed, dismissive, and unhelpful, and reasonable questions about options or accommodations were repeatedly met with deflection rather than engagement. The studio owner's public response to this review further illustrates the issue. Instead of addressing concerns about communication and professionalism, it speculates about my motives, references my class bookings, and characterizes me as attempting to "take advantage" of a promotion. That framing is inaccurate and unnecessary. I was willing to adhere to the terms of the agreement and downgraded my membership in good faith when my schedule changed. The issue was never avoiding obligations -- it was the lack of respectful, straightforward communication. Publicly calling out individual customers by name and assigning intent, rather than resolving matters privately and professionally, is concerning. This experience felt far removed from the community-focused, supportive environment the brand promotes and instead reflected rigid enforcement paired with poor customer care. Prospective members should read cancellation and downgrade terms very carefully and consider how issues are handled if circumstances change.

Christa was a great, enthusiastic instructor for the Signature 60 class. The class itself was a good workout that combines cardio, strength, and mindfulness. My only complaint is that the class was quite full! Although everyone had enough space to comfortably move during the strength and cardio segments on the floor, it was pretty crowded. I couldn't extend my arms while laying down on the mat during the core segment without touching the people on either side of me, preventing me from deepening my stretches.

I visited this location six years ago while still living in Seattle, but returned this year several times. It really hit the spot, it is located at Pearl District that the walk back to my hotel Benson is cherry on top. I never did online reservations but there was always warm smiles from the front desk while they put me in the class.( This is not always the case fromBar studios) The class is challenging as usual but instructors are patient with kind and encouraging voice (again, not always the case from Bar), I just love this place very much! Give it a try, I believe this studio is great for Bar newbies since they are friendly and inviting ; but also great for Bar addicts since they offer many class options including the usual mixed class, Bar express which is 45 mins, and More intense classes Bar move...etc Enjoy y'all ! I've been doing barre workouts for 10+ years in multiple locations across the country (NYC, Chicago) - I've never stepped out of a studio because my boundaries weren't respected by an instructor that ignored me saying no to a correction. Because I knew the method she suggested wasn't challenging enough for my body. I requested my refund for the remainder of my package and was told no. I would at least appreciate an apology as my "no" for a correction (said multiple times) was ignored. So much for owning and honoring our bodies. If your fitness level is above average- this isn't a place I would recommend. Iso you know and trust your body- this isn't a place I'd recommend. If you're looking for an effective highly challenging workout- this isn't a place I'd recommend. On top of all of that- the classes are overcrowded, so there's not a ton of space. If you're looking to make small movements and feel a bit of muscle soreness and feel like you got your workout done, and don't know much about your body or fitness- this is the place for you!

I've done my fair share of classes throughout the years but I really appreciated the low impact movements that worked my core. There are variety of classes for every one and they take great care to work with your injuries . When I arrive to the studio for my private sessions, I am always greeted by the owner Joanne. She is always friendly, professional and very welcoming. I attend private sessions with Krista McCurdy. My private sessions are geared towards cervical and lumbar rehabilitation. The personal attention is exactly what I needed and my progress is very noticeable compared to the traditional clinical physical therapy I was involved in after my cervical spine surgery 10 months ago. I recommend this studio for private sessions if you are suffering from an injury, recovering from surgery or have certain physical limitations that make it difficult to participate in group classes.
