So, Norah is amazing. I've had locs for almost ten years and did a lot of research prior to…read morechoosing a stylist to cut them off for me. I'd been having some issues with my scalp, and Norah really took the time to explain to me what was wrong and suggested ways to improve the health of my hair and scalp. As much as I love my long-time hairman, he was never able to give me an adequate explanation for the issue. I found her to be extremely knowledgeable, and more than that, she gave me plenty of pushback on my short timetable for introducing chemicals back into my hair (I've got a tendency to be impatient and need a stylist who can shoot me down from time to time). Norah's shop is clean, she returns calls immediately, and there's no waiting for her to finish up with other clients. On the whole, an excellent experience with a very, very professional stylist.

I was grateful when Norah agreed to color and style my hair at the last minute as I had an event…read morethat evening and my other stylist had an emergency and cancelled. I needed a root touch up to match my dark brown hair. Despite my raising concerns that the dye color she was choosing looked too black she insisted that she was a trained professional and could see what my eye couldn't. The end result was me having black roots to which she replied, " it creates a nice contrast". After lots of discussion about her experience with curly African American hair, I felt confident that she would be able to curly style my hair. Unfortunately, she then washed out all of the conditioner and started going at my hair with a paddle brush, combing out all of the curls. To make a long story short, I paid $170 for grossly mismatched roots, hair dye left all over my forehead and my hair looking like a clown wig. All of this could have been forgiven and this review avoided if she didn't make a number of comments. As I showed her pictures of highlights I was considering she made comments such as "well you don't want to look low class do you" and "well that women has much lighter skin than yours". Seriously, as an African American, I graduated from Hopkins, have a doctorate and have a 2 ct diamond on my finger but still have to endure this Caucasian women calling my ideas low class. While talk on the phone she described how her websites have a number of before and after picture and laughed that sometimes the before pictures were so bad that she had to hide their faces, when I actually got around to checking her websites I realized that all of those "so bad, had to hide faces pictures" were of African American women. Good to know that this is what she thinks of our natural hair. I just feel ripped off, disappointed and disrespected.

My granddaughter's needed haircuts and we visited Keo Designs. Paula, the owner and hair…read morespecialist, cut and styled both granddaughters. She did a great job with there hair and their hair types are both so different. One granddaughter has thick wavy hair and my other granddaughter has long, but thinner hair. Paula washed both girls hair. Then, she dried their hair before cutting. After she cut the hair, she textures the hair, and then styles it. My daughter goes to Paula for her hair too. The salon is decorated in purple and sparkles. Purple is my favorite color, so I loved the decor. Paula and her staff couldn't be any sweeter. She has 5 dogs and their pictures are artfully displayed in the salon. I thought the prices were very fair and reasonable. The girls looked beautiful and were very happy with their hairstyles. I was impressed how Paula asked each one what they wanted. And, she checked back to make sure they were happy with their looks. Their is a private parking lot behind the salon, which is very convenient. I can see why both granddaughters love going to get their hair styled.

The solution was supposed to be left on 30 minutes for all hair types and up to 45 minutes for coarse kinky hair. It was left on less than ten minutes. It is supposed to be applied in small sections and then combed through. It was not put on carefully as there were curly spots left after completion. It took one hr. The manufacturer says it should take 1.5 hours. When I asked about the missing steps, I was told she used a different cezanne treatment on me. There is only one cezanne for non blond hair. There is only an express and a regular. She said she did not use the express and I am not a blond. Very disappointed!
