Came in for a regular haircut with Grace and beyond impressed. Grace is newer, but took her time listening and adjusting to nail a perfect cut. Admittedly, I wasn't too sure what I wanted when I came in, but she worked with me to make a plan along the way. Grace took her time making sure everything was even, and regularly checked in to make sure I liked the direction the cut was going. The woman at the front desk was kind at check in. salon was quiet, clean, and had adequate parking. Will be my regular hair cut place from here on out! read more

I scheduled a basic women's hair cut while in town visiting my mom and was assigned Kylie as my hair care professional. I hadn't had my hair cut since before quarantine started. So I was needing a major healthy cut. I went in and signed a waiver to get my hair cut knowing the concerns regarding COVID - totally understandable. I then met Kylie - we discussed my hair needs. Hair wash was my favorite. Nice dimly lit back room - heated neck rest and nice natural smelling products. Kylie explained the Aveda brand to me. She thoroughly described each product and how it works as she used them. Very nice touch. Hair turned out great. So soft and healthy looking! I came in today to have my hair color refreshed, a trim and a moment of zen away from the kiddos. At first I was very thrown off by the receptionist, she was very unfriendly and caddy. Being that I am use to this kind behavior living in California, I wasn't expecting that level of rudeness here. I had researched all salons in the area and even though Aveda products aren't my personal favorite I decided to give them a try. I was fit in pretty quick 3 days proceeding my initial call to schedule. This was super convenient! I also spoke with a male so I didn't catch the receptionist's attitude prior to my appointment or I probably would have chosen to go elsewhere. I had Cheyenne as my stylist. My first thoughts were she was adorable, fully aware of all products and even made me forget the receptionist. During my appointment she really got a feel for what I was going for. She trimmed my hair to the precise requested length and nailed my blonde mane perfectly. If this review was for her alone I would give her 5 stars. Shelby was able to see me on short notice for a cut as I was in dire need of some styling. She did an excellent job of listening to what I wanted, what I disliked about my current hairstyle and also took the time to look at my hair and determine what would work best for it. Not only did Shelby do a fantastic job but the overall experience was so nice. I thoroughly enjoyed the wash, fabulous neck massage and getting to know Shelby. I decided it was time to make a change in salons. I had a lengthy conversation with the manager at Pure Concepts and she booked me with a newer stylist. I am so happy with my color, I love Aveda products from what they stand for (cruelty free and vegan) and the smell is wonderful! The only downfall is parking. I usually go to michelle but since she has been on maternity leave and I desperately needed a haircut, I scheduled with gabby. I was nervous to see someone new as I'm very particular about my hair, but she did an amazing job, easily one of the best haircuts I've ever had. The salon itself is always clean and relaxing, and the stylists are great. If you're looking to try somewhere new, go here. A bit pricey but you absolutely get the quality you pay for. Their ability to get me in quickly was very much appreciated as I have been looking for an appointment for about a month elsewhere. I recently relocated back to the Indy area and I was in need of a new stylist. I tried Pure Concepts and love going to Chloe. She is great! I am extremely picky. EXTREMELY picky. It can take me months to settle into a new city and find the right stylist for me. Ex military life, lots of moving over the years.This time, it took me one try and I found the right fit. This year for Christmas I decided to forgo traditional presents for my grandmother, as she's getting older and doesn't need a lot of 'stuff'. I gave her a 'girls day' - where I could come in from out of town and take her to get treated and create a special memory for us. I called Pure Concepts and booked appointments for Grandma and I, and the employees went above and beyond to ensure she had an amazing experience. She grew up during the Great Depression and had never had an 'extravagance' like having her nails done before. Our technician was super friendly and accommodating, and everyone at the salon made sure to help Grandma get from front door to the stool, and bathroom - she has a little trouble walking. She felt SO special to have her nails done and someone focusing on her and making her feel good for a good 45 minutes or so. The price was fair, and I'll never forget our special day together. This was the best salon experience I have ever had. Customer service, professionalism, and execution were all exceptional. When I walked in, the receptionist immediately welcomed me and offered me something to drink. There were several options, but I chose water. The water was delivered to be me in a cute little mason jar, and it had some kind of citrus flavor to it. It was refreshing and tasty. I waited about two minutes when Hope, a junior stylist, introduced herself to me. She was really polite and kind, but I didn't have very high expectations. See, I have very curly, biracial hair, and NO hair stylist has ever cut it to my satisfaction. I have walked out of hair salons disappointed my entire life. After I told Hope what I wanted, she took me to the shampoo room, which is dimly lit and SO relaxing, and washed my hair in addition to giving me a fantastic head massage. After the wash, she took me back to her chair and proceeded to give me a delightful and aromatic neck and shoulder massage. At this point, I didn't care if Hope cut my hair right. I was already so relaxed. Then the combing and cutting began. Hope attended to my difficult curls with the utmost attention and respect. It took quite a while. When we were halfway through, my hair looked like a blown up mop. I was a little nervous, but Hope seemed confident and diligently continued. By the end of the cut, my hair looked FIERCE. She gave it the shape I have been searching for for years. She may be a junior stylist, but she SLAYED my curls. I've received so many compliments and love my new look. On top of all of that, Pure offers first time guests $20 off their first visit, so I ended up paying only $20 for a shampoo, head, neck, and shoulder massage, and the best hair cut I've ever had. This salon is amazing! The atmosphere is beautiful, clean and very relaxing. I was offered something to drink to begin and I have never had my hair washed in a more calm and relaxing way. After that you're treated to a wonderful neck and shoulder massage with a very calming massage oil. All this before they even start cutting your hair! I have never been there before, but the stylist I had, which was Hope, was very well-trained and educated in the most up-to-date styles and techniques. I have loved Aveda salons for quite some time now and every time I move my goal is to find a new salon and stylist that I love. If you are looking for a great Aveda salon, this is it. From the front desk, where they know who you are when you walk in and offer you a beverage (water, tea, coffee, soda), you are treated well. I have become a "regular" as much as I can be of Colby and she never disappoints. She understands my naturally curly/wavy hair and how to cut it and she never fails when I come in wanting fun color options. She is also the only person (besides myself) that I trust with my eyebrows. I have thicker eyebrows and am always nervous someone will want to take off too much! Along with your cut you get a hand and arm massage while in the shampoo chair and a nice little neck and shoulder massage when you return to the chair prior to your cut. I can't speak highly enough about the customer service they provide and they also carry a full line of products in the store. read more

I know that the other employees are also welcoming and skilled. I can't say enough good things about my experience here. I had my hair done here for my May 7 wedding, as well as my 6 girls in my bridal party. Jackie was amazing! She did such a great job of organizing everything and made us all feel relaxed, including bringing us all drinks in little mason jars. My hair turned out just the way I wanted from all the pictures I had found on Pinterest, and once I had my hair and makeup done, I really felt like a bride! So, my first visit to Pure Concepts was disappointing, I walked out unhappy with the cut and color, gave it a week to see if it grew on me, it didn't, so I went back to talk to them. They remembered my visit and the issues the stylist had with my hair...I do not have easy hair! I'm in my fifties, my hair is shoulder length, thick, frizzy and going gray! The manager, Jess, was super nice and set me up with another appointment, no charge, and my, what a difference! I'm not sure why the first stylist missed the mark, but I could not be happier with my cut and color now! I see that other reviews mention Hope, and she is the one who worked the magic on my hair. Jess was on hand for consulting throughout the cut and color to make sure I was happy. The salon itself is clean and bright, the reception is warm and friendly, the shampoo room is dark and relaxing, they give wonderful arm/hand, scalp, and neck massages included in your visit, and really take their time to do a good job. They also explain all the different Aveda products they use on your hair, how to use them and what they're for, but there is zero pressure to purchase any of them. I'm definitely planning to make them my new hair salon, and I'll definitely recommend them to my friends. I can't even ding them a star for the unfortunate first visit, I love my hair so much now! read more
