Pure Hockey had a great Bauer sale, so we ordered new skates. When the box arrived... it contained exactly one skate. Not a pair. Just a lonely right skate sitting in the box. Basic shoe-sales 101: someone should probably check that two shoes made it into the box and not leave one on display. To their credit, once we let them know, customer service fixed it right away. They shipped a full replacement pair immediately and simply asked us to drop the solo skate back in the mail. A funny mishap, but they handled it quickly and professionally. 4 stars. read more

I went to pure hockey to buy skates for my 10 yr old. they said he should definitely be in a size 4. he skated on them twice and said they were too big. we asked 3 other places. all confirmed he should be in a size 3. I went to pure hockey to return the skates. they will only give store credit. while I understand why with returns, I was returning these due to employee incompetence. how can you be a full size off? they refused to refund my money. I called customer service. same response. avoid this place at all costs. this also means they lost out on 8 years of business. no business sense, incompetence and horrible customer experience. Being a goalie parent is a tough gig. It's even tougher if you're a parent who never played the game or the position when it comes time for you to get your goalie new equipment. It's not cheap and the wrong size can impact performance. Fortunately there are people like Scot Antonson who work at Pure Hockey locations that have dedicated goalie departments. I live 6 hours away from this location. But I was "in the area" with my son playing in a baseball tournament in St. Cloud which is a little over an hour to this location from St Cloud. Our first game Saturday was at 1pm and Pure Hockey opened at 9am so I had less than a 2 hour window to accomplish an epic task of getting my son fitted for damn near everything that a goalie needs before I would need to head back to St Cloud for pre-game warmups. To make matters worse, I was traveling with 2 dogs (1 adult and 1 puppy). I wound up getting a late start and I walked into the store at 9:30. I asked for someone who was able to do goalie fittings and was introduced to Scot. I told him that my son needs to be sized for everything, that I had two dogs that needed to be walked and that I would be back after that. By the time I came back in Scot had already found the best size pads and helmet for him and was having my son try on other pads to give him some options. As he was having my son try on the other pads he was explaining the pros and cons of each set, showing my son different ways to strap up his pads, and basically just nailing the knowledge and expertise I had hoped to find by coming into the store. I mean he was blowing my hopes out of the water and just killing it. I wish we would have had more time to hang out at the store but I left with a complete prescription for the equipment my son needed for this upcoming season in under an hour and all because of Scot's experience and passion for the game and the position! I was planning on ordering online but may have to stop by the store to say hi to Scot again. My 13-year-old daughter decides she's in the hockey, this was our first trip to a hockey store. Not sure where there are two dollar signs on there, these prices seem high but compared to what? That's true I have nothing to compare it to. It was very well organized we got asked if we needed help. I hope not to be back! read more

Echoing the other comments about the customer service. Completely absent. I was in the store for probably 20 minutes and had no human contact the whole time. They do have a great selection of all the major brands. I was looking at gloves and everything was jumbled together so really hard to make a selection. I guess if you know what you want and have no questions this place would not be bad. Or you can just go online too. I am not going back. read more

I stopped by Total Hockey to look for gloves. The selection was fine, but it was inaccessible. The gloves are all stored on a vertical wall, so I (being 5'5") was unable to reach probably about 75% of the gloves without assistance. There were also no employees in the area checking in to see if I (or anyone else looking at gloves) needed any help. I didn't go look at other equipment because I was frustrated by that horrible planning and I did not really need to look for anything else. I've been playing for years - I know what I am looking for my gear - I don't need someone to tell me about different gloves or brands or anything. I also feel very strongly about not needing employee assistance to access a product (especially something like hockey gloves). I left frustrated and quickly. You shouldn't need to be 10 feet tall to reach a pair of gloves. read more

LOVE Total Hockey. They are there to help and they know their product. The store is clean, the equipment choices well organized and the skate sharpenings are done well. We had a problem with defective skates and they really went above and beyond to help with the situation. And, the bonus....Their breakaway club lets you earn rewards for the money you spend in their store! read more

Decent selection of items but ZERO customer service. I have never been intentionally ignored by so many employees. Need to learn some customer service 101. At least acknowledge the customer. read more

Have used Pure Hockey a few times and I can say that I am totally satisfied. Just bought my son skates a few days ago and we had nothing but good service. Plan on going back in a few days to buy my other son a pair as well. Great job keep it up read more

Seriously, there seems to be only one person that can assist customers today. (6/27/14 at 1pm). Been waiting for someone to assist me with picking up skates and no one. There is one guy helping someone. I've seen two other people come out from the back, but nobody has come to help. read more
