Word to potential costumers: be sure your tech confirms with you that they are going to provide the service you asked for at the front desk (what you wanted and were willing to pay for) or they will default to the more expensive service without telling you and upcharge you. I have never spent money on something more uncomfortable and unpleasant than the manicure I just experienced. I walked in to Pure Lux and asked for a gel manicure. What I now realize is that I was given, and was charged for, a luxury gel manicure, which cost $20 dollars more and has left me scraping under my nails with a cuticle trimmer for the last hour. I was confused as to why the tech got out a mechanical device to file my nails, as I only wanted a basic gel manicure. But I'd never gotten my nails done here before so I figured this was the norm. At 45 minutes in, when the tech had not even begun to apply the actual color to my nails, I was incredibly confused. Why was a basic gel manicure taking so long? The entire process was so uncomfortable: it involved endless filing and mechanical buffing. My fingers were dusty and the tech's gloves manipulating my fingers felt abrasive and unsettling. All of the dry nail that the tech filed off made its way under my nails, and each gel coat caused it to set. The layer grew thicker and thicker until it felt the bottom of my nails was fused with my fingertips. I asked the tech to clean beneath the nails but she barely fixed the issue at all. At the end, I asked again for her to clean underneath the nails. She made another mild pass. I had to ask to use the tool myself and she seemed annoyed and exasperated that I was trying to take care of the issue myself to ease my discomfort. After the tech charged me, I looked at the website and saw the service correlated with the price I'd paid. It was not what I asked for at all. I'm incredibly frustrated that I not only had to sit in discomfort for nearly an hour and a half, but that I hadn't asked to this and paid more for it, AND that I remain uncomfortable now that I'm home. I won't be returning (although I may have to to get this removed--at this rate, it's all I can feel and I can't concentrate on anything else). If you decide to get your nails done here, although I don't recommend it, again, ensure you and your tech are on the same page re: the service you've requested or they will upsell you/overcharge you without your consent. read more

I paid $80 for gel (an extra $15 for a cuticle trim I didn't request) and was very disappointed with the quality. The gel is lumpy, the top coat doesn't fully cover my nails, and there are visible smudges. The technician was kind and did try to fix a few issues when I pointed them out, but the final result was still not worth the $91 total I paid. Unfortunately, these are the worst my nails have looked and the most I've ever spent. Sharing this so others can make an informed decision. read more

I made an appt for a fill. Having had my nails done at another salon they weren't the best. The owner/manager took her time to correct my uneven bumpy nails. I love how they look, love the color! Despite them being very busy she was able to squeeze in a toe polish change. I just went to pure Lux nail salon and had the worst experience. I called before and asked if they did nail art and they said yes. When I came into the store, I asked them again. Do you do nail art and they said yes. I asked the girl doing my toes. Do you do nail art? She said yes and I showed her a picture of what I wanted which I purposely picked out because I felt it was super easy and simple and she said yes that's fine. We can do that and I said should I just get one color is this too hard and she said no and the lady came and I said can you do this and she said yes she took 45 minutes to draw two stars on each of my hands and as you can see in the pictures I don't know what I'm looking at. She literally apologize to me after she tried to let me leave with one of the edges of the star smudged and I had to keep on asking like please fix that. She also tried to add dots around it when the picture just had a singular star which OK creative liberty and she got frustrated. When I said I wanted no polkadots. I paid $80 for these nails. If you were going to have so many pictures of nail art on your website and then not be able to do a simple star, then don't tell me four separate times that you do nail art. read more

Honestly very disappointed, I am not someone to normally leave reviews but for the price of these nails this was not ok. There is a hair in my pinky nail as well as my thumb has a dent in it from improper application of gel. I got 2 tips put on my nails and had a fill for a gel set but I got charged for a full set. When I asked about the price at the checkout the lady was very rude and short with me. I still tipped 20% which I regret now looking back on it. Mind you after tip this was a 100$+ set which is absolutely not worth it. There was no cuticle prep at all nor did she trim them. One of the tips that was applied is already lifting on the side which is insane as I just got them done 2 days ago. This was my first and last time at this salon and I would not recommend for others. read more

This was, without a doubt, the worst salon experience I've ever had -- and it happened right before SENIOR PROM. We spent hundreds of dollars here to get our nails done for one of the most important nights of our lives, and the results were an absolute disaster. The nails started lifting and falling off the next day, and when we asked for them to be fixed, the staff physically ripped them off our fingers -- causing actual pain -- while saying, "See? They don't come off." Yes. They hurt us, then gaslit us about it. They were aggressive, rude, and acted like it was our fault for expecting basic quality. On top of all that, they refused to give us a receipt, which is shady and unprofessional. We were left scrambling the day before prom, paying even more money to get them completely redone somewhere else. We were excited, vulnerable, and trusted them with something special -- and they treated us like we were a burden. If I could give zero stars, I would. DO NOT GO HERE. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this place. If you value your money, your time, or your actual physical safety, run far away from this salon. read more
