I recently started working with Aaron Woods at Grind Time Fitness and the training is INTENSE and hard. That said, I had SO many knots in my shoulders and neck. Tuesday night I got maybe 2.5 hours sleep. And I kept waking up because I was in pain. That was not okay. He had told me, since last week...to go get a massage. I caved. And I knew that this was a reputable place and it was nearby, and most importantly, there was availability. I never ever have any expectations of a massage because I don't really care for them. But I honestly have to say this was probably THE best massage of my life. It was uncomfortable at times because I was super knotted up, but never painful. And I know to breathe, just lik during tattoos, so I was fine. But I felt SO much better. But more importantly I SLEPT. Ameen told me to sleep on my back with a pillow under my legs as much as possible for the next week to let everything settle. Which is difficult because I'm a side sleeper. But I followed orders and slept SO hard. I felt SO much better today it was unreal. I cannot recommend highly enough. Denis has training and experience in fascia release and his techniques are exceptional. The massages are intense, and the release is transformative. Denis has a soothing voice and as he is working on the tension and fascia, he guides me through each step, telling me how to breath, where to focus my mind, on which muscle, how to lean into the stretch and release. This ensures we are working in unison, and it truly makes a difference! Over the past 2 years I've dealt with a fractured femur, hip replacement, and tightness in my pelvic floor and piriformis muscle. While I see a physical therapist weekly, and do daily exercises, without the specific work and release of these muscles, I would not be making progress. Denis is so intuitive and can feel where my pain and tightness is without me even telling him. His skills are exceptional and he is helping me regain my mobility.
