I just moved to Maryville and found Pure nail bar. I was so bummed with my experience. First walked in and explained what I wanted, then the nail tech got started. She put on gloves and would wipe her nose with her gloves hands. I requested she changed her gloves as I have a newborn at home. She did but after that she would forget and start using her hands to wipe her leaking nose. I asked for almond shape and after she does the shape she states that it cost an extra $7 for the shape. (Crazy, I'm a cosmetologist and taught a beauty school in California. It does not take more time or energy to do a almond shape) way to up charge. Not to mention the teenagers running in and out. (Not guest, the owners or workers children) Now 2 days later my nails are already chipping and I did nothing to break them... not worth the $120 for a gel manicure and regular polished toes. read more

I used to love this place but I'm pretty sure I got a toenail fungus from here a while back. They are also very rough and my toes/heels were super sore after a pedicure. They are very friendly and always seem to want to please when doing my nails but I just feel they could be cleaner and sometimes communicating exactly what I want is difficult because of the language barrier. Updating to 4 stars because I've not had any more issues and they seem to have upped their hygiene game. read more

This was a lesson learned and I will NEVER EVER go back. I went in for a manicure and was charged the price in the brochure, which I paid for, but didn't receive several of the services listed. I asked about it and even talked to the manager and was told they didn't offer those anymore and scribbled them out on the brochure. When I asked to have the price of the service adjusted I was told no, sorry then was YELLED at by Josh, the owner and told that I was just being one of those people that claims to go to church and then ruins peoples lives by not wanting to pay and complain about my service. It is a rare treat for me to get my nails done. I went here on 11/11/22, to have acrylic nails done in almond shape. The lady that done my nails was all over the place talking, not paying any attention to my nails as she was filing them, they are lopsided, irregular and bubbled up thick. Looking like they have grown out for a week because they don't even go back far enough to cover up the white moon on some of my nails. I have never in my life been so embarrassed to have someone see my hands/nails and I'm a mechanic. They are horrible looking. I hated this place I went there a couple days ago and they had the worst customer service. When I got there I asked them a question the question being if they did normal powder . The receptionist said and I quote " they should " and then sent me to go look at colors . I found a Color I liked and then it wasn't powder it was dip come to find out they only did dip not normal. When the lady was doing my nails I told her I wanted the nail color number 93 she decided to choose a completely different color she chose color number 98 and when I told her that was not the color I wanted she said NO . She really went from pastel to neon and when I had asked to change it because that is not what I wanted she told me no because she wanted to go home they closed at 7:30 and I was there at 5:30. Went this past Tuesday for an acrylic set w gel polish, paid $45 plus a $10 tip just to have to return today (Thursday) to have them fixed because they looked like they already had a weeks worth of growth. I was told that my nails grow fast that's funny seeing as I've never had this problem before. Then while they repainted them I was mocked by the whole salon while they talked about me to other customers. "If you like it, it's $5 more" my sister used this place for years and quit going because of the lack of quality. I have been nicked by a nail tech here for the last time. I have been a customer for a few years, and have gotten inconsistent service. My nail tech can be rough and hateful. She rolled her eyes at me today because I was not "relaxed." She cut me with her file and I bled. She cut me a second time with her snips. My nails look great, but it will take a full week for my cuticles to heal. I do not feel like a valued customer, and I will find another nail spa. read more

I am going to describe the experience as clinically as possible. Upon walking in a surly girl said,"what are you here for". Explained we had appointment and were told to sit elsewhere. We were not called back until 35 minutes past appointment time. Once sitting in the chair, no one came by for 20 more minutes. Requested water to soak while waiting, but my jets were broken. My sister finally had someone come to do her service, such a nice guy. But the employees were so busy and overbooked. 5 people came in after us but were serviced first. Then there is me. Still waiting. Did not get any attention until an hour and fifteen minutes after the appointed time and am pretty sure that was only because I likely looked unhappy. I refused service at this point and just chatted until they finished my sisters. Recommending a good deep clean, your place is visibally dirty. No offer for a cold drink and no one available to ask. Your customer service at the front end should be so cheerful. I will never go back. Very dissapointed. read more

It's hit & miss. I to have never broken any of my SNS nails but I have been there 3 times & each time I had to return in under a week to fix broken ones. Only one lady that does hombre if u want them & she just 'in & outs' you.. prob why they break. I'm forgiving but this is it. I came from Atlanta & the prices here are ridiculous. At least in ATL they provide drinks & snacks & they are personable. Here prices are really high for what u DON'T get, not friendly, no incentive to return, customer service is non-existent, they talk to each other not the customer, barely speak English & someone usually has to translate for a pedicure, the atmosphere is horrible. I want to elaborate on how much Pure Nail Bar cares for their customers. Have you ever called a business of any type, and inquire about their services, products, etc....and they didnt offer or provide you with what you were looking for? So, with your over-anticipation of hoping to find what you wanted, they say, "Sorry, bye," leaving you with a somber dial tone on the other end or the background rain falling at your feet. Yes, I've been under this distress one too many times. Pure Nail Bar is the opposite when we arrive at predicaments like that. More than once, I've called Pure Nail Bar and busy as they are, they always try to fit my needs into their tight schedule, among their unholy amount of pedicures, manicures, and waxing appointments. I dont; know how they do it. They do it and they do it good. Rarely, does anyone's appointment become jeopardized on their time; their time, as in their customer's time. You can tell they are diligent. They are always aware of each customer. If they don't have what you are looking for, I'm sure they will invent it out of thin air. If they don't have the time, they will make the time. If they are short on staff, they won't tell you 'No.' Instead, they will find a solution. That's what I admire. That's how you keep your customers walking through the door and how to bring new ones in. It was my birthday weekend, and I had to schedule a last min. appt with Lyn (who does my eyelashes there); she was able to come in for me and take care of my lashes at 9:30am, given I start work at 11am. I was not pleased at all. The place was very dirty and disorganized. The place needs to be thoroughly cleaned top to bottom! During Covid it's expected that nail salon employees should be wearing masks at all times, it was not the case here. The man that was doing my pedi and mani was coughing and sneezing through his mask. He'd leave the room, take off mask, then come back 5 min later, making me sit there and wait for him as he kept leaving the room leaving me to sit and wait on him, he was not very professional nor was he keeping the place germ free. A few times I saw him take his mask off. I saw a couple other staff members that did not have masks on. My pedi was ok but my mani was a complete rip off for 20.00. All the man tech did was cut my nails, file them and paint them. He did not use any cuticle oil, no lotion either. Didn't do anything to my cuticles. The whole purpose of paying for a manicure is for the cuticle work and he barely did anything! Was totally lazy. I didn't leave a tip. I doubt I'll ever return. Mediocre at best. Very nicely organized and has the room to service a lot of people. All the colors you would want and many different brands. Many estheticians and really no wait.... with that being said, everyone seemed pretty miserable to work there. I am visiting from NC and decided to take my mom to get a mani/pedi. I simply had my nails done with powder dip. The lady that did my nails worked very fast and the final product was sloppy. My nails are a bit lumpy and the shape is uneven. She also buzzed my cuticle and made it bleed, which would not have happened had she just slowed down a little. My mom got a pedicure, which she was pleased with but nothing special for the price. The esthetician did a good job with her nail color. But in the end did not listen when my mom said that she just wanted a manicure and no color. We had to repeat multiple times and in the end she just lotioned my moms hands. In the end, very expensive and I think we were over charged for mom's manicure because they didn't listen and wanted me to pay. Lesson learned. Will not pay until all services are rendered and we confirm that they actually charge us for the correct service. Unlikely to go back and will try a different nail salon the next time I am home. read more

I love going here! I feel like there is always a chair available when I walk in and the nail technician focuses on me the entire time rather than going back and forth between customers. They also always offer me a drink when I sit down. I've started getting my eyebrows waxed here. At first I was nervous, but so far they've done a great job. I was referred here by someone that had a wonderful experience, but that was NOT the case for me. I came in for a pedicure. Everyone was very nice, I was reading and enjoying a chair massage during the pedicure, while my feet were under the dryer I paid $25 for my services and gave the nail tech a $6 tip. Once I got in the car I bent down to take off the toe separators I was given and noticed a very messy polish job. Nail polish was on my skin on all toes. When I got home to spruce up the mess that's when I got a closer look and noticed my toe nails were cut too short, crooked and jagged edges, only one coat of polish was applied! I had to remove all the polish and reshape my toenails then noticed they weren't even cleaned under the nail. The worst part was when I called back to tell them my experience I was told to come back for a redo but my schedule didn't permit so. The lady told me to come back the following day when the owners were there. So the next day I called and spoke to the owner and explained my experience and he started questioning me in a fashion that made me feel like I was being blamed and he didn't believe what I was telling him , but he did tell me I could get a refund but the tone in his I could tell he was very irritated so I went in the owner never greeted me to handle the situation instead the person who screwed up my toenails is the one who handled my refund so I went over to show the owner a picture of my toes and he refused to even look at my photos and he refused to even look me in my face then he had to come up to the register to help the man do a refund and he tossed my credit card at me and proceeded to go sit down and finish his client. I just feel like I was treated very rudely he and dismissed as an unhappy customer. although they may have many happy customers , I I will never go back and I will never refer anyone and I will make sure that I tell people my experience.I am attaching pictures and if you zoom in you can see the very sloppy job performed. read more

This place is terrible. I have recently moved here and found this place. I tried it 3 times before making a judgement. The final trip was the final straw. The first two times my nails didn't make it a week without breaking. I have not broken nails in years. This past time the man doing my pedicure filed my toes more than my nails. I finally had to stop him and ask for someone else. The lady that finished did a mediocre job but my feed already hurt. She proceeded to do my fill. I have fat hands so I like to have pretty long nails to make them look better. She pulled one nail off and pulled off 1/4 of my real nail and had trouble stopping the bleeding. She cut all my nails down to the point where they don't go past my finger tips. I kept telling her to stop cutting them down but she didn't listen at all. They are uneven, bumpy and hurt. I am not sure why I paid them. I will have to get them redone immediately. read more

BEWARE!!! Have been going here for fills and pedicures for several years. I have noticed that it has steadily gotten less clean. Saturday was my last visit. When they removed my dark nail polish, one finger nail had dark black fungus. That was bad enough. Then he proceeded to remove the acrylic and then place clean acrylic over it without treating the fungus. I asked several times about putting something on the fungus and he said he would do it when it he was done! What? He finished the nail and polished it then, when I inquired about something for the fungus again, he put a drop of something under the nail tip and said it would be fine. The fungus was on the nail bed and not near the tip. I knew this was very wrong. But here is the worst part for you reading this review: he did not throw away the file or drill emery board tip that he used on my infected nail nor did he segregate any of the other tools he used on me. When he was finished, he put tools in their usual spot and when to work on a pedicure. The poor person who followed me was worked on with tools with fungus on them. This place is in dire need of a deep cleaning. While they are cleaning off all the cobwebs maybe they can replace all of the burnt out light bulbs. I'm writing this review because I'm new to the area and have noticed there isn't a lot of business info on nail salons around here...so for others out there like me who are confused as to where to go, perhaps this will help. Pure Nail Bar seems to be a very well-organized, clean, high volume salon. They offer a large variety of different pedicures and manicures, so there is a great selection to choose from. The staff is super friendly and sweet. Their spa pedicures have lovely massaging chairs and you can relax and watch tv while they work their magic. However, the mani/pedi combo, just a regular one (no frills), costs $40, which is pricey compared to what I'm used to, but perhaps that's the norm around here. Also, the quality of painting was pretty low...for $40 you should be able to get a cleaner paint job without having bits of paint around on your fingers. Like I said, the staff was super nice though...just think the quality of work can probably be improved. read more

Needed a last-minute pedi, so I tried this place. Mistake. I chose the basic pedi because they were closing soon (though I called first and they said no problem, come on in), but the man doing my pedi said they didn't have that one and basically forced me to get a more expensive one. He cut my toes more than once, digging in my cuticles like a gardener. He sat me under the dryer and kept checking my nails and saying to wait...then suddenly they needed to move a big piece of furniture where I was so he says I can go now...and my big toe was ruined before I got to the car. Never again. The whole place had a bad vibe and I regretted going there as soon as I walked in. Next time, I'll listen to my spidey sense. read more
