Let me start by saying I am VERY picky about my nails. I've been getting gel for about 6 years and will follow a tech around unless they just move too far away. I have a regular guy I go to in Columbia, but I wanted to try SNS here and he doesn't do that. The appeal is that SNS doesn't use the UV light, and they are supposed to be stronger than gel and last longer. I followed the recommendations on yelp to try to find my next Columbia tech. I just had SNS done for the third time ever. The first time was in my old neighborhood in Nyc and it was AWFUL! They popped off in one week. The second time I had them done by my friends guy in Charleston, and they were so perfect they made me "cheat" on my regular nail guy to try to do it again. They were strong, natural looking, and lasted for 3.5 weeks before I had my first chip. I'm also pretty hard on my nails, so this is really great. The third time was here. They really do look very nice at first glance, but I'm afraid they are just too thick and the gel top coat is bleeding into my cuticles which drives me nuts. He did use the light for a gel top coat, which doesn't completely defeat the purpose, but it is a negative for me personally. I'm going to have them removed within the week. I'm disappointed, but I must say that I have very high standards. I would like to say that the pedicure is beautiful and he did spend time massaging my legs, and it felt amazing. He also used the scrub and not the razor, which is far better for your feet. It was really nice. My goal in posting this is just to provide very clear and accurate insight into what to expect and what to look for if you happen to be as particular as I am, or even if you're not. This probably won't be my new go-to place, but I may be willing to give it a try again. 4 stars. ' ---------------- I'd like to update that while I still think the nail was a bit too thick especially around the edges, and the gel top coat is still peeling a bit, I did leave them on and they have lasted now 29 days without chipping or popping off. I'm impressed and pleased. I am updating my review to 5 stars from 4, because I think while there is room for improvement, I do believe he did a great job overall. I've tried to use this salon several times because I noticed they use quality products and it's always clean. BUT, the owner/manager is EXTREMELY RUDE. I've tried to look past her nasty disposition but today was the last time. Their staff is pretty small. Only two techs do pedicures and two sometimes theee do nails. Be prepared to wait. They also aren't big on accepting appointment. Today I left and refuse to spend my hard earned money in spaces I don't feel welcomed. There's a nail salon on every corner like Waffle House. I would not recommend this salon. I was visiting from out of town and took my 6-year-old granddaughter there. The woman who greeted me kept asking me didn't I want gel, when I made it clear i wanted just regular polish. I got a manicure and she got her fingers and toes polished. The tech drew blood on two fingers while he was trimming my cuticles. They charged me $30 for my granddaughter - polish only. That seems exorbitant to me. Had deluxe pedicure and manicure pre Mother's Day. First off no clear understanding of what you're buying with deluxe . First tall guy does feet. Makes excuses a for bad paint job says nails too short- what does that have to do with putting polish up on my nail bed? Next manicure doesn't even get your hands soaked and massage. Just dry nail dip. Tall lady does this sloppy job and nail popped off the next day. Paid 95 plus 10 tip. Go back and the owner- Brian does fix it as he should . I really dislike how they switch from English to Asian language when they want to talk about people. So rude! I would probably only let the owner do it from now on if I go back at all. While every nail tech I've ever had at this place has been nothing but kind and professional, I have to say the quality has gone downhill. I used to be a regular customer at Pure Nails. For context, I got a gel manicure and a regular pedicure every month for at least a year prior to the pandemic. I went in yesterday for my usual after a long time. I felt like by the time we got to the manicure, my tech was just trying to get me out the door. The polish on my fingernails is uneven, the filing looks misshapen (I asked for almond), and the tech missed several spots on the side. I know I should have said something sooner but it's not just the quality of the nails alone that I'm unhappy with. The quality of the service has gone downhill significantly. read more

So it appears that maybe the previous owners sold this business, because I've been there maybe 12 times before and saw no one at all I knew working there when I went last night. The staff seems totally different, that whole OPI shelf by the front is almost empty now (maybe the colors were moved?), and the pedi chairs were new. The prices seem about the same. It still seems like a fine place to go but wanted to warn other regulars that things have changed, in case you had a favorite technician there you liked to see under the former management/owners. read more

Tye does such a great job, I only have to get my nails done every 3-4 weeks. (I get dip) Him and his wife are very friendly. You can tell they love what they do. The salon is always lively and vibrant. It's best to have an appointment. For dip and pedicure it normally takes about 2 hrs as they are normally busy. read more

This place has been going downhill rapidly & steadily since Halloween time '20. Came for a manicure, the lady told me she couldn't do designs. Okay no problem, I asked for someone who could...she told me no one in the entire shop had whatever class/experience to do designs.... Feb '21 I came. They told me Jay no longer worked there. Jay was T H E best at what he did. Very patient, very creative, always made sure you loved your nails before you left. June '21 I waited ~30 minutes for a pedicure. No problem, I'll just come back. Lady after tell me "it's $30 dollars". I said no this is free. I called yesterday and told the guy that i just got them done last week and they started peeling off day 2! I have been to this location twice. I was super stressed out after a long week at work. Walked in and was greeted right away. My spa pedicure was beyond amazing and my gel full set lasted more than a month with not even a scratch. The staff is super duper attentive to you and what you want and how you feel. I really liked this place, but I also should point out, it's the only time I've ever gotten a professional pedicure. All I can say is the people were nice, and the whole process is super relaxing. This was one of those times when I decided to treat myself, and I'm glad I did. I felt like it might have been a bit pricey, but I have no real knowledge of how these places work, but some friends had said it was cheaper at other places. The whole foot soaking, and calf massage were amazing. They took several layers off my feet, and surprisingly they didn't have to bring out a belt sander to do this ;-). I think with tip it was 50 bucks, and with polish I believe it's about 10 more. My only complaint was the smell. I don't know how those people work in that environment without taking several years off their life. They really should get some more exhaust fans. read more

The technique and skill of the technicians is pretty good. I've never not liked their work. My only issue with this particular salon is that the scheduling is very unorganized. I have always called ahead for appointments, often requesting a particular nail tech, but when I would arrive, I would get passed off to someone I've never met before. Regularly I would schedule a polish change and end up being at the salon for over an hour and a half. They would leave me to soak off the old polish sometimes for over an hour. Other times they would only soak for 10 minutes. My time was not a concern for anyone there. Eventually I got fed up with the hassle and quit going. read more

So let me start off by saying this was my FAVORITE place to get my nails done. I was so glad to finally find a nail home. No more. The last few times I've come here they have been rude, disrespectful and unprofessional. Mark my words: I will never come here again. One of the nail techs, new I believe, tried to charge me $20 extra to get my nails done because they're long. I've always been charged an extra $5. That is fine. I completely understand. $20 though is an abuse and completely absurd. Then when I told her they have always done my nails she was rude, shrugged her shoulders, and said I can wait for someone else to do them. So this is HER charging me $20 extra. She then proceeded to talk about me to other nail techs. I'm not an idiot. I understood everything that was said because I use a translator. Never again. read more

The staff at this salon is very friendly! They definitely want you to feel comfortable. I walked in 30 minutes before closing for a pedicure. My technician took his time and addressed all of my concerns. I would've appreciated a "polish clean up" around my cuticles after polishing. Still a good job tho. read more

Terrible customer service! I have always had a good experience here previously and my nails always look very good. Due to the pandemic, I called at 11:30 am to make an appointment for 12:45 for a full set and gel powder. Brian said that was fine, took my name and said to come in and tell him I was there when I arrived. I arrived at 12:47 (traffic), and was told that it would be an hour before they could see me. I reiterated that I had called ahead for an appointment and told the time I requested was fine and I was seated in a booth... where I sat for 25 minutes before getting up to leave. I have somewhere to be at 2, hence why I made an appointment in the first place! This is beyond frustrating. Why bother to take appointments if you're not going to honor them?! read more

Been looking for a good nail salon and today I found one. Very nice people and for once they actually took their time. I was very happy with my service. This is a nice Shop as far as atmosphere and cleanliness. Mostly the people were nice. I went in for a full set to celebrate my birthday. I was adamant I wanted acrylics (which I've had on and off for years with no issues). The tech wanted me to get a gel set (obviously more expensive). She did not seem happy at all that I was not going with the more expensive set. She kept asking how long my nails have lasted (which is the traditional 2 weeks). Unfortunately, for the first time in my life after years of having my nails done, this set didn't even last a week. I can't prove it, but I don't think the nail tech did them appropriately so that they wouldn't last the traditional two weeks. I may go back for a pedicure. I won't go back to have my finger nails done. I was so looking forward to going to this salon as it is convenient and has great reviews. Unfortunately I didn't have the fab experience as everyone else. Also- if you prefer your nails in a round shape as opposed to square- it's $5 extra (which I've never heard of but whatevs).
