I went in on the Friday before the 4th for a quick holiday design. The service is spot on. The design I chose caused a little difficulty with drying and instead of throwing in the towel they continued to start over until it dried. Three times they had to wipe off and start over. Yeah, my nails aren't evenly filed and the design up close isn't the most perfect. But the service and willingness to get it right was enough for me. read more

I absolutely love this salon! They are so nice and polite and try to accommodate you the best they can always! I called on a Saturday and they were able to squeeze me in and I wanted an ombré look for my nails. They said that there was not enough time but I understand bc it was so last minute. I guess there was a cancellation or something but she was able to do the design I wanted! As you can see from the picture Ivy does an AMAZING job! I'm obsessed with my nails! They even send you home with the buffer and nail file they use on you to show they don't reuse them. I love knowing that they are very sanitary. They are always trying to stay up to date on the new styles which is awesome too. Just a great place overall! read more

I inquired about the cost of a pedicure, and the woman quickly said that they were booked up for the evening. The problem with that was all the chairs were empty. No one else was in the shop. Received a coupon in the mail for this establishment and SO glad I made it there for a mani/pedi. I called ahead and made an appointment on a Sunday (hours 12-5 on Sundays) and got right in. The lady who answered the phone had good English-which as many of you know can be hard to find in these types of establishments. It was easy to find, easy to park, they have a private lot. I was greeted as soon as I walked in. the place is clean and open. They have a whole wall of nail polish. including OPI and a few other well known brands. As I was sitting there, getting my beautiful toesi's worked on, I noticed that they had many regulars. That tells you something-they are consistent and priced right. I chose no color, since it was winter and I wanted my nails to breathe. They did a good job cutting the nails even and filing. The guy I had a wonderful job with the "massage" part of the pedi/mani. When I was checking out they gave me a card-for every 6 visits over $20 you get $5 off. Another perk! I plan on going back before the toes come out of hibernation. They do acrylics, gels etc if you are into that sort of thing. Prices are reasonable. My mani was $25 and pedi was $15 without my coupon. read more

The owner was very kind and honest. I asked for a manicure after he took off my acrylics but he assured me that my nails did not need cuticle treatment and instead gave me a strengthening gel and top coat and didn't charge me for an unnecessary thing. My husband asked for a callous treatment but the nail tech said he didn't have any need for it. They are very honest and not out to cheat you of your money. A couple weeks ago I came into KV Nails & Wax about 6:30-6:45 and was in desperate need for them to remove the acrylic that was 1/8 inch think and I was worried I had gotten to KV Nails & Wax too late since they said they close at 7pm, BUT Ivy said if I could wait 10 minutes or so she would gladly help me. Ivy and I had such a great conversation about lots of things and I told her I just moved to Olathe. Also that I hadn't found a permanent nail salon yet because I was really picky. She stayed over an hour late to make sure my nails were perfect and she does such amazing work. I went back today after 2 1/2 weeks to change the dip polish and even took a friend with me. Came here to get my nails done for my wedding with my mom and mother-in- law. We made appointments for pedicures and manicures- which I would recommend doing. They prioritize appointments over walk-ins which is wonderful because they will turn people away when they are busy. Pros and cons to that, but it ensures they don't rush customers who have called ahead and the quality is consistent! Our nails were beautiful done and they even showed us what different polishes would look like as some would need several coats. I'll keep coming back to this place! read more

The man who did my pedicure actually listened when I asked that my nails be shaped square...alot of people like them rounded I guess because most people ignore my request. I visited KV on a trip to Olathe to visit family on Christmas weekend. I missed my usual powder dip manicure before leaving town and had chipped several nails and needed a new set. I messaged Ivy on Yelp and she was able to fit me in next day - come to find out she actually opened the store early in order to fit me in. She was very nice, professional and did a great job on my nails and toes. She is really very reasonable priced as well. Will definitely see her again if i am in need of a manicure next time I am in town. read more

I had a gift card to KV Nails for nearly enough to cover a classic mani/pedi. I arrived a few minutes before my appointment time and signed in. I am VERY glad I made an appointment, as they stay BUSY! I'm surprised at how many people bring their small children with them though, which took up quite a bit of the available seating in the waiting area. The process in which they manage all the clients uses good time management, though I have not seen it at other salons. Ivy started me soaking my nails then moved over to the woman next to me to start her soaking for a gel removal. She then returned to me and cleaned and filed my nails. I washed my hands and returned to the table. At this point, she was removing the gel polish from the other woman. A gentleman came immediately over and started to paint my nails. He then left to prepare the area for my pedicure. Ivy returned to do the second coat of nail polish. Again, the gentleman returned to grab my purse and take me to the pedicure station. He offered me a drink, which was very nice. A different young lady completed my pedicure. She was gentle but thorough. She was soft-spoken so I had to ask her to repeat herself a few times. She painted my toenails to match my fingernails. The staff appears to really work well together and their process allows them to help more customers at one time, rather than one-to-one for all services. Everyone took great care to make the polish look amazing. While I was there, two different people had dinged their nails after the service and the staff happily and quickly repaired the polish. They have good customer service. The salon is clean. Overall, I'm very impressed and think this is a great little gem! read more

Came across this small gem in my neighboohood recetlntly. Small super clean and peaceful place when I entered. The owners greeted me with a handshake and offered water immediately. My mom was getting a Mani and Gel Pedi and I was just getting a simple Mani. I have gotten Manicures before and they have always half-assed because it was just a Mani for a guy. I assumed. But Ivy the owner took GREAT care of me. Very detailed and even massaged my hands and arms. Gave me buffers and a cutical oil to take home and take care of my nails between appointments. My mom was very very pleased with her services. The staff took their time with everything and their work was exceptional. Very pleased! It's super easy to book online and all of the techs are great. Make sure you book a couple days in advance and bring cash tip since you can't tip with card. I was very disappointed with my first and only experience. I had a manicure with gel polish. I tried a new polish and it turned out looking nothing like the color I picked. I picked a color with a solid pink and black pattern. What I got was a clear coat polish that looked like it was sprayed with black pepper and pink splatter marks. It looked awful and when I requested a new color, they were going to charge me $20 more. Poor resolution. Lost my business and any of my referrals. read more

I found KV Nails & Wax from reading reviewers here. I loved that I could book an appointment online. Makes it so quick and easy plus I don't have to worry about going there and not knowing if I have to wait or not. I booked an apt day of with Ivy for an Ombré Dipping. I prefer the dipping powders over other methods and this salon was the closest to my house with good reviews that offered it. Plus they offer Ombré in it. How awesome is that. I showed up a few minutes early and Ivy was able to see me right away. She first did one nail of the Ombré dipping so I could see it before doing it on all nails. I ended up going with just a solid color due to the length of my nails but I will try the Ombré again once my nails are longer. The salon was clean, staff was friendly and my nails look fabulous!!
