Still great as ever! Scheduled my appointment quick and easy on their Facebook page. My appt was accepted instantly! I scheduled my pedicure for in the early afternoon on a Tuesday. It was slow although they did have a few other clients when I arrived. I was happily greeted and I was asked to wash my hands and then sign in before I chose my color. There was no wait and I was seated right away. I chose the deluxe pedicure and it was heavenly!! Nancy was my nail tech and she was so sweet and took her time! She did an awesome job! I felt relaxed and the massage was wonderful!! I always recommend Awesome nails for pedi's (I haven't been here for any other service) and will continue to do so! read more

This was one of the most bizarre nail experiences I've had. I made an appointment based on the recent positive reviews, and now hoping my experience was a one off. Even with an appointment, it took a long time to be serviced. I noticed lots of running around and shuffling of things and people - they seemed overwhelmed with 5 customers in the shop. I was in a bind leaving for a business trip early tomorrow. Otherwise would have left. My service started with cold water to soak my nails and cuticles in. That seemed off. My technician sat down and started cuticle removal and was then interrupted and disappeared for a while. Super weird. All but 1 of the customers that checked out while my nail service was being completed were either 1. charged incorrectly (and chased into the parking lot/brought back in for correction) or 2. Left to wait for 10+ minutes. Another customer next to me questioned her cuticle removal, the technician said he couldn't do any better, got up, left and she was left sitting without much (any?) communication. She was in the salon long before me and my entire service was completed prior to her even being acknowledged again. My gel didn't seem to cure correctly and ended up being a bit bumpy vs the nice, flat consistency it should be. Some discoloration as well. Overall, not the best $38 manicure I've ever gotten. I've been here a few times now, each time with the experience getting worse and worse. I went in last Friday for a pedicure and gel manicure and unfortunately I don't think I'll be returning. My nail technician, Lin, (who also did my pedicure the time before this) rushed me to get into my chair for a pedicure even though 1.) I wasn't finished trying to find a polish for my toes yet and 2.) it was in the early afternoon on a Friday and the shop was not busy at all. This was really off-putting and a weird start to the appointment. Then she starts to work on my feet like she's angry at them. I must have said "ow" three times before she finally backed off a little. And please note I'm not someone who is super sensitive. I rarely say anything, even if it gets to be a tad uncomfortable. After the harsh cuticle scraping and foot scrubbing ended, the rest of the pedicure was fine. Then we moved on to the french tip gel manicure. Same ordeal there. She scraped back my cuticles incredibly hard, causing me to say "ouch" a couple more times. Then she made me bleed - TWICE. The overall look of the nails was good so I kept my mouth shut and paid the $90. But now that it's only been a week and my nails have started to chip and bubble at the sides...I am so angry. I've had gel nails done sooo many times in my life and they've always lasted me at least 3-4 weeks before any signs of wear and tear begin to show. This should not be happening after only a week. I advise the nail salon to adjust their prices according to the result of their services. For a gel nail polish that chips after a week, it should be $20, not $55. That or the application of their services needs to be done to a much higher standard to justify the price. read more

It was a last minute decision to get a pedicure. I decided that being at home all the time that I didn't need to get any this summer. I have a funeral to attend on Friday and wanted to look presentable which is why I decided to come in. This was my first time here, but I've been wanting to come. I lazily go to one near my home that I've not always been 100% thrilled with. They were busy and insisted I needed an appointment and I said I would go elsewhere as I needed it now for a multitude of reasons. I called to see if I could get in and I was welcomed to come. I'm glad I did. The place is bright & clean & not blasting music. Parking is plentiful. I never felt rushed and my tech had great attention to detail. I will come again. read more

This is such a nice salon and I'm so glad I found it! I came in for the first time on a Friday morning just as it opened. It was quite packed with a bridal party of about 10. Although they were pretty packed, I was still in and out with a pedi and dip mani. I didn't catch the ladies name who did my pedi, but she did it well! My mani was done by Ken who was superb!!! He admitting hat he took his time, and I was extremely grateful. He was thorough and precise with each nail, from the cut to the color. He finished the dip mani with the finishing polish. I was relieved to not have the gel light applied to the dip powder. I got color NU-94 on nails and Lisbon Wants More OPI on my toes, similar color but not exact. My daughter got her dip done here. She had asked for several colors and she said they were out of everything she picked. She went with this one. She texted me crying. When she got home I called and said I was bringing her back up. They said they would fix the paint on the fingers but if she wanted the color changed it would be $25. My daughter didn't want to hurt the lady's feelings. I paid it to get out of there. We will never go back. A 7 year old could do a better job. We will never be back. read more

Great nail spot! I am visiting KC for the weekend and I desperately needed a pedi and mani. This place is so cute plenty of space and very clean. Everyone I interacted with was so polite. As I came in I was offered soda or water. They lady did a wonderful job on my toes I stubbed my toe and broke the nail across she hid it beautifully. I got a manicure reg. I wish I couldn't even give this a star. I was a very loyal customer to Awesome Nails and Wax. Last Monday I went in with my boyfriend to get pedicures and a new dip set for me. I spent very close to $200. $185 to be exact. That night after my nail appt my left pinky was extremely painful. Do the point I couldn't touch it without wincing. The next morning I woke up to find my pinky tripled in size. By Wednesday I had puss coming from underneath my pinky nail along with all of my skin surrounding the nail blue/ purple. I then got started on Augmentin to hopefully save my finger/ nail. Today I went back to awesome nails to ask them to remove my remaining nails and asked for a gift card to replace a new dip set for whenever I feel brave enough to go back there. In response they told me it was essentially my fault and the loss of my pinky nail was from me " hitting it on something" . Offered to take of my remaining nails for free and give me a 10% next time I come back.. what a hard smack to my face for being a "loyal customer" I'm appalled, furious, and regretful. Needed a new nail place for my acrylic nails because I am picky! I decided try a gel acrylic fill with Amy because of the reviews I read in here! I was impressed with the shaping and preciseness of my nails. I was a bit disappointed that she did not cut my cuticles, use lotion or cuticle oil or anything. I walked out with some polish on my hands as well. Overall I liked it and I would come back. Also it took an hour and 20 min for the service. read more

Julie did amazing! This was the first time I've been here and at other salons I always find something wrong with my nails but Julie made them perfect; EXACTLY how I wanted them. It was also so nice to be listened to. I told her another salon had hurt my nails very badly and I was worried my nails were thin and she took such good care of me. She was so gentle too and took her time. I'm so tired of other salons rushing it and grabbing my hands so hard or yanking them. Julie was so gentle and did amazing. After I paid the bill and tipped the three technicians, we were all walking out and the manager stopped me (outside the door), and said that they had forgotten to charge me $5 for a matte finish. I told him I didn't have any cash, and his response was, you have card though. I thought it was extremely rude and disrespectful for us, who had just spent $400. These people nickel and dime you. Very rude and incompetent employees and manager! On June 9, 2023, my mother came in to get a manicure. She showed the employee a picture of how she wanted her nails done! That employee did a terrible job and refused to fix her mistake. When my mother refused to pay for the services, they threatened to call the police. Throughout the whole conversation, the employees were very rude and hostile. My mother ended up paying to de-escalate the situation. I never leave bad reviews, but this kind of behavior cannot be tolerated! I recommend the manager/owner to read Kansas Statutes Chapter 50: Unfair Trade and Consumer Protection, Article 6: Consumer Protection! I was looking for a new nail place and this one was close to my house. I called and they were not busy so I was able to get in no problem. I knew I wanted a pedicure and was thinking about maybe a manicure if I had time. I just stuck with a pedicure because I didn't think I had the time for both. When I try a new place I always stick with the basic level of service. The gel polish is a $15 upcharge, which okay that's fine and my tech did make me aware of it, but didn't offer me any other option besides gel colors. I find that a little deceptive. I picked a pale golden color with sparkles which the sample of was pretty. The problem is that the polish on the nail is VERY yellow, if it weren't for the sparkle of the color it would look like I have nail fungus. I don't feel like the sample is an accurate representation of the final product, but ultimately I did select it. The massage portion of the pedicure was adequate . I was pleased with it as this is the reason why I was looking for a new place to go to. However, she did not scrub my feet to my satisfaction. My old place did a far better job with the pumice stone. Ultimately, I paid about $15 more than I normally do for a gel pedicure. In the moment it was more relaxing that my typical service, which I would have gladly paid for if the end result was aesthetically pleasing. read more

This facility provided excellent service, looked super clean/modern in appearance, and seemed to have many COVID-19 cleanliness procedures in place. I like this place but it needs better management on scheduling and booking. Came here twice but both times seemed like they overbooked as well as none stop taking walk-ins. Appointments that usually takes an hour ended up being three hours because they are overworked and understaffed. Linh did an amazing job with my nails. She is super sweet and patient - always apologizing for the wait (which isn't even her fault) she is quick and really listens to what you want. I think this place really has good potential if they stop overbooking and take walk ins. Unfortunately, that will be my last time going here. Waiting around 30+ minutes multiple times in a single appointment just isn't acceptable. TLDR; hard working and great staff. Terrible over booking practices. read more

So this is my first time trying a new place for a pedicure. And it's been about a year and half since I've had one done. So I figured id try a place close. As soon as I came in, I felt a little rushed. I had made an appointment ahead of time online, and confirmed the appointment. As soon as I came in, the guy told me told me to wash my hands to pick out a pedicure color? (Okay? I understand this for a manicure but a pedicure? Okay no biggie) anyways before I even got a chance to pick a color the guy directs me to a seat. I told him I hadn't even picked out a color yet. And he told he would get the colors for me. As soon as I seat down, another client comes in with a wheelchair. Another coworker rudely says, oh that girl can move, meaning me. Not a problem AND I totally understand moving that's not the point. It's the point to address your customers with respect. And asking politely. Seriously DONT make them feel rushed. If you wish to rushed out the door. Then this is your place. But if you wish to be respected with some dignity, I'd recommend some other place. I will gladly go back to my place in leawood, so I guess this is a no in my books until they can learn to be respectful to all their customers. read more

My nail tech today (Lisa maybe?) made me bleed twice, and in the 1.5 hours it took for a FILL, I jerked my hand away probably ten times due to her hitting above my cuticle/fingers. Ouch! Close to the end, I was almost to the point of having her stop! (In my head, I said one more time and I'm done!!) I still have red nail polish still on the sides of my nails from my previous time here and some nails are thick and not at all smooth (look at my pics) and my cuticle areas feel raw! Even the job she did painting my nails looks bad. I've never in my life not tipped - today was a first! Hopefully this place can get its act together-I tried them out for a pedicure on Wednesday. I was a walk-in at 5:00 pm. They said they were running behind and would be 30 minutes . I thanked them and said I'd go some place closer to home and started to walk out the door but they caught me and said they could fit me in... There were only 3 people working and they were all very busy. They seated me in a chair with water within 10 minutes. The lady somehow splashed water all over me and my phone. I guess she didn't notice because she never offered me a towel with the shower. AND the water almost ran over because no one was watching it. One of the customers found the button on the base to stop the water as they didn't seem to understand me yelling 'helloooo the water is going to run over!' I sat there in water for 50 minutes before someone started my pedicure. Yep, the water got a bit cold towards the end. Place is new and clean. The #9 massage chair seemed a little on the tired side like maybe it needed more batteries lol but who knows maybe I didn't find the "by the way, I'm here for an hour' setting. Or maybe, the hour of waiting wore it out *shrug*. A large tv is available for your viewing pleasure in the pedicure area. Everyone seemed professional enough- they did apologize for the wait however still charged me full price for the 20 min pedi with an hour wait time. My advice is if they say that they are behind and it's 30 minute wait, run don't walk or be prepared to wait an hour like I did. read more
