Tried their Brazilian wax here for the first time and I left with still a ton of hairs on me. I thought that any stubble hairs would be plucked? Instead, I'm going to have to pluck them myself because there are literally at least a hundred hairs left over....all of which are long enough to be plucked out. read more

I used to go to a different wax place but European Wax Center was able to fit me in less than 24 hrs after my usual wax place cancelled on me 2 days before my vacation. I didn't know this place was so close to home! They are brand new to the Olathe Pointe Shopping Center and I'm so glad they are here! I've been seeing Amy for last 9+ months and she's so amazing! She is professional and friendly and makes you feel so comfortable. She has also given me great advice on my skin care routine. Not only that but she's quick at what she does and leaves my skin silky smooth with no irritation. All the girls that I've encountered at the front desk have been very friendly and professional! I've had to cancel up to an hour before my appointment and they were quick to get me rescheduled. From my understanding, they do have a strict cancellation policy so be sure to contact them regarding reservations/cancellations. If you're looking for a new wax place - make sure to stop by and check them out! I signed up for a wax package and I'm so glad I did! They never expire so you can use them at any time. I found this place on Yelp for my daughter who wanted to have her eyebrows waxed, and I'm so happy I did. Your first service at European Wax Center is completely FREE which is amazing. They believe in their employees and services so much that they know you'll be back if you give them a try. They offer student discounts and packages to make their services truly affordable. The facilities are clean and relaxing, while their employees are sweet, friendly, and accommodating. I am very impressed with this European Wax Center. We bought a student package for brows, and I plan to buy a package for myself as well. Bonus: You can make an appointment online! It's about to get personal..I booked a Brazilian wax appointment for the very first time in my life. I had started thinking to get a wax because I was not liking how even after a shave my hair follicles were still showing and they seemed to still appear to be dark even after a shave! My appointment went wonderful. My wax tech Ashton was very nice and she talked me through everything before she did it. I will admit it was a little painful but so worth it! I also mentioned to her I was insecure about dark hair follicles and she recommended a body scrub to use. Everyone was very friendly and COVID precautions are being put into place. I have been a long time member at the Olathe EWC and always have a good experience. But this last time was just AMAZING! It was my first time with Hanna and I am getting ready to go to a wedding in Paris so I needed the works if you know what I mean. Hanna hasn't been working there very long but her costumer service is unmatched! Waxing can be awkward or uncomfortable and of course painful but Hanna was great at keeping me laughing and wanted to make sure I was 110% happy before leaving. 10/10 service and I am excited to continue using her for all my wax and skincare needs! read more

I tried to make an online reservation (the website says the location is open and I saw staff there a few days ago). The website kept erroring out so I decided to call. The lady asked to put me on hold and then I was on hold for over 2 minutes before I just hung up. I just went and made a reservation elsewhere. Got my second Brazilian wax done today and let me tell you it hurt way less than my first wax. I was nervous to get my first wax but I'm so glad I did. The hair that grew back a month later was still sparse and not half as think as my hair normally is. The staff is quick took 10 mins in and out! read more

I didn't even get a service from them. I'm a single mom of 3 and needed a eyebrow wax badly. This was my only time to come into town to do this. I scheduled for 10:30a today and received a call last night to confirm my appt. She said 10:45 today. I said okay! Thinking I put it in wrong when I originally scheduled. Showed up at 10:45 and they said I was at 10:30... they can't get me in until later today.. I just wish I hadn't scheduled a sitter and drove 40min for them to not get me in.. read more

Haven't posted a yelp review in years but I am so upset I feel it's necessary. Horrible experience at this location. I told the woman that I wanted a little clean up under my brows because I am leaving for vacation tomorrow and wanted them to look a little cleaner. She seemed to understand what I meant. However she then proceeded to wax the middle, top and bottom of my brows - twice! I was trying to trust the process considering I had already specified what I wanted done. She told me she wasn't able to catch every hair and the wax was safe enough to he applied twice to the same area. I told her I was in antibiotics and didn't think it would be a good idea to be applied twice. She said it was safe and began applying a second layer over the spot she had just waxed. After the second application was removed my skin felt like it was on fire. She told me the front desk should have asked if I was on any antibiotics and I replied that they didn't. She apologized for that. After I left and saw my eyebrows in natural light, I saw that one eyebrow was significantly thinner than the other. There is no symmetry. Both brows have now lost their original shape. I have always had great, full eyebrows and now my right brow barely has a wing at all. It also was waxed so much in the middle that now the start of the brow lines up with after where my eye begins. I have never penciled in my brows but clearly now I will have to in order to attempt to make them match. I called to express how disappointed and upset I was. I also mentioned that no one asked if I was in antibiotics ahead of time and my skin hurt after the second wax application in the same area. She informed me it was my responsibility to tell them about the antibiotics. I told her every other place I've been to has always asked me beforehand because most people forget about it being an unforeseeable issue. I would highly advise going somewhere else where the estheticians know how to maintain the brows original shape (if requested) and ensure that both brows will match in shape and size. Symmetry is everything in the eyebrow industry. They did refund me which was much appreciated. read more

My wax lady is Bard and she is the sweetest and most talented out of all. I scheduled 1:45 with her and the two girls in the front who checkin said the latest to my apt is 9 mins after my scheduled appointment. I showed up at 1:55 and they said to me she cant take me in WHEN I WAS ON MY WAY AND CALLED THEM IF THEY CAN STILL FIT ME IN. And I step my feet in the door at 1:55 they turn me out. Ive been in cosmetology business for over 10 years and I had not once seen or experienced such a welcoming clients like these girls. im pretty sure they dont wax and I am not there to make any problem. I left. Never again will I be back there but I see Barb outside of the salon because she is my favorite person. She been doing wax for over twenty two years and on top of how funny and how nice she is. Im done with this location. I will reach out to the manager because you guys are just open and your customer service is the worse. read more

The front office staff is RUDE! The esthetician's seem skilled. I bought 3 products. One was brow powder. I was told I could return it within 30 days with my receipt. I went back TWICE to exchange my shade because it was too dark. OH NO!!! ONLY WHEN OUR MANAGER IS HERE!! I drove 2 hours! I then asked when the manager would be in. I was given a date and time. Drive back 2 hours and returned 28 days from date of purchase (the date I was told she would be in. I was assured by 2 front desk people. She wasn't. They had no idea when she'd return. Told me again only she could legally do an exchange. The product is sitting on shelves. Mine was unopened. My esthetician put the product on me and told me to try it in the day light and at home. They told me I would be arrested if I leave my product (in the bag with receipt, etc) on the counter and grab the correct shade. They assured me they would have the manager call me. I called EVERY DAY for two weeks. She allegedly wasn't there! I went back to the Leawood branch but they are really busy. The Olathe one usually can get you in on the day you call (maybe because of the rude staff???). The Leawood branch used to put on eyebrow powder with each visit. They now say it is no longer part of the service. They got one star because it's a nation wide chain so I will continue to seek a branch with nice, professional staff that does all the services including putting on brow powder when they wax your brows. They get another star because despite of how rude they are, my waxes (various places on my body) have been good. read more

I went to this location for the first time today and it was a great experience! I went to school for esthetics so I know what I'm looking for and what good sanitation looks like. The store was very clean and organized and Barbara did my Brazilian in TEN minutes! I have never gotten one that fast and she was such a sweetheart. She knows what she's talking about and is very informative (I know because I learned everything she was telling me and she said it all perfectly!)
