No frills kind of place and they do a wonderful job separating the rooms and chairs. Great lighting, kind employees, soothing music. I've gotten both reflexology and massage. Both were absolutely fantastic. I've been coming once a month for the past 3 months and will continue to do so. Please make sure you realize this is not a spa in the traditional, hotel, sense. I came here two times now. Once was for a massage after the NYC Marathon. LIFESAVER! The second was a three days before my wedding for a full body massage and scrub and a foot massage. I took my wife here for her 30th birthday and she ENJOYED it to the fullest because the place was extremely clean, staff were super duper friendly lol (Especially Wang). Amazing! I'm a runner, I'm training for a race currently, and I started getting a metatarsal neuroma in my foot. So painful- I tried lots of things but I could get rid of the inflammation/pain. I made an appointment here- they got me in within 30 minutes of me calling which was super nice. But most importantly, they made my foot feel amazing. I had the Pure qi signature deep tissue "full body" massage for 90 min. It was excruciating and stressful. I wanted them to focus on my lower back. The masseuse Lisa, instead, spent --it seemed like -- half the time, pushing hot stones into my shoulders and neck region. I had terrible pain in my upper back for 4 days afterward. If she had focused that energy on areas I wanted, it may have been worth it. Next time I will bring written instructions. read more

Got a couples massage with my best friend recently. I asked for a relaxing Swedish massage and did not get that. The masseuse was too rough and did not ask once if the pressure was ok. I decided to just grin and bear it until it was over. Then came the hot stones... so SO so hot I was cringing. I spoke out multiple times that they were too hot and to move on and she just kept going. I had what felt like bruising on my lower spine for a few days after. I'm mostly disappointed in myself for not jumping off that table and leaving. I was really hoping to love this place since the price is amazing and the guys at the desk were really sweet. I treated my sister and I to the Pure Qi Rebalancing Spa package where, for just over $100 each, we spent two hours getting full body scrubs (mine with ginger, hers lavender), full body deep tissue massages and reflexology massages. It's clean, no-frills and the amazing ladies working there really know what they're doing. I live in south Florida and would give anything to have this kind of quality and affordable prices down the street from me. Their treatment list is impressive and everything is soooo affordable! I would suggest getting one of the packages for a few dollars more which tack on multiple treatments. read more

I would go here again. The gentleman at reception was very attentive and explained things well. I did the 90 minute Pure Qi Signature massage. It seems that the best time to go is before 3pm since everyone likes to go after work. I just squeezed in my time at 2:30pm on a Wednesday. The masseuse was very kind and knew enough English to get the best massage possible. Her fingers were very strong and I had the medium pressure. Only thing I do not like when getting a massage, is hearing people from other nearby rooms. But it wasn't terribly distracting and I'd still come again. The bed was comfortable. read more

Came her on a vacation day from work to get a facial. I was greeted at the door by a gentlemen-who I assume to be the owner. Although I was getting a facial he told me to take off my shoes ( I was wearing flip flops) and change into their plastic shoes...a little weird but ok. I was then led to the back of the spa and shown the room. My facial lady was very nice. I opted for the 90 min facial and she did a pretty good job. OK i'm in love! What an amazing and relaxing spa within walking distance from my apartment! This could be dangerous... The staff was incredibly nice, attentive, and friendly. The owner Wen is a gem! The prices are incredible and the service left me feeling like a new person walking out :) I had the 90 minute package that included a 30 minute back massage and an hour foot massage. I cannot rave about it enough, I LOVED IT! The only downside is that because the place is so quaint you may be able to hear the other patrons conversations. I went with a girlfriend and I could hear her talking from her massage room to her masseuse. Thats not a problem for me though, next time I'm going by myself :) And honestly thats a small price for me to pay to feel like I'm walking on clouds when I leave. I cannot believe that I have lived in the area for a year and I just found this place. I will definitely be back!! read more

Came in for my bday and I really enjoyed my experience here. I got the anti-stress massage and the signature facial. The massage was great and relaxing! If you want them to focus on one area be sure to let them know. The facial was also really good. My face is still glowing and baby butt soft. She performed some extractions that did bring some acne to the surface, which I was unhappy about but the acne cleared up quicker than usual. The head massage at the end was my fav part. read more

Pros: Friendly and attentive staff, clean and inviting facility, gifted masseuse, and private rooms Cons: You can hear fellow guests in adjacent rooms and folks walking around upstairs, but this is really a non-issue when you're half asleep in bliss anyway. I came here for my birthday with my boyfriend. I had my first massage a few months ago back and I wanted to experience that heavenly feeling again. I gotta say I was pretty MEH about this place. I didnt like that walls weren't full walls so you could hear people walk around, and talk. I found it hard concentrate on the massage itself. But thats just me. My boyfriend enjoyed himself, and found it to be a great massage. I didn't really like for mine, and kept on thinking to myself " i just want this to be over with". The girl did an OK job, but I could've stopped 15 mins into it ( i had an 90 min massage). Other than that the place was clean, everyone was nice, and the price was very reasonable. Maybe my chick had an off day. I might consider going again, maybe with someone else. My BF couldnt stop talking about his massage. So maybe i'll try his masseuse then! read more

The 2-star is for my hubby, who had actually treated me to the experience. I am grateful for that. It wasn't all that great, I didn't feel a lot of actual massage going on. I did come out with a painful lower back, due to the design of the massage table, not supporting my lower back when I lie down on my back. The therapist spent 70% of the time rubbing me with hot stone and a sand bag on top of a blanket, and applying oil on my upper body, and repeat. In terms of actual massage---accupressure or actual massage onto the muscle to loosen the tension---- was only about 20% of time. The head and foot massage was better compare to the body massage which took about 5-10% of the time. I am glad I told them specifically to focus on those two areas. I dont think I will go back again. read more

WOW. Best massage I've ever gotten might be an understatement. It's ok I'll never eat again if I can indulge twice a week at this place. Also like little jerks we showed up early for our scheduled time 9:30? (I think) The last time of the night. So we decided to go on a walk to search for this impossible to find battery I needed... needless to say we got lost and ended up coming back super late. They were so nice, they didn't even say one word or seem to care just ushered us to the back for some love making with my knots. I don't know her name, I wish I did, I honestly didn't even see her face but what she did to me was mind blowing. I've had specific knots for years from a car accident when I was younger and she got them out. She really went to town on a few bad ones and pop they were gone. I've never felt so good in my entire life walking home! I got the deep tissue and my friend got the regular, she said hers was great too and just the right amount of pressure. Well I'm sold and will be back soon you can count on that. Also they have a great check in deal for 10 min free so check in when you there and use use use. Because of my lateness I decided not to hold them that extra 10 min but you best believe next time it's onnnnn. read more

Went there for a facial today and decided to give my feet a boost with a hot foot mask. They did a great job on both. My face is totally glowing! The face/neck/scalp massage during the facial was awesome! AND I was told when I got there that when I check in via Yelp I will get a free ten minutes service. I came here to get a 90min facial and it was amazing. My skin is very temperamental/combo skin and most products make me break out but so far so good. I'd definitely recommend their signature facial. The hot stone neck massage was wonderful as well and I really enjoyed it. They even threw in an eye mask treatment! The extraction did wonders to my nose and chin because I'm prone to getting black/ white heads. Overall the experience was great! The service was friendly, we didn't have to wait too long, and the skill level of the woman who was giving me the facial was superb. The best $60 (plus tip) that I've spent in a long time! I was desperate for some relief from various workout related aches and pains, and came here based on the ratings on Yelp and the fact that they could take me last minute. The place is very clean, service is so friendly, and the massage was over the top awesome! SO much better and SO much cheaper than all of the massages that I've had in higher-end spas in the city. My masseuse really knew what she was doing and paid special attention to the areas that I needed help with. The pressure was hard in a good way, and she had great technique (she got into all of the muscle attachments and had all sorts of massage moves up her sleeve, plus some mobilization and stretching). All in all, I left pain free and totally relaxed. Make sure you call and reserve in advance. The weekends get fully booked fast. read more

AMAZING! It is very dangerous (to my wallet) that this place is a few blocks from me. The facade is TOTALLY misleading. It seems like it's just another Chinese massage place, but it's not. The rooms are very clean and private. They have a lot of similar amenities and services more expensive spas have. The owner is super friendly as is all the staff. My major testimonial is that I have NEVER fallen asleep in a massage until Pure Qi. I usually don't feel comfortable enough. So that speaks volumes! Then there are the prices! The packages are the way to go. To spend just over a $100 and get multiple services and for that length of time is incomparable. read more

This is an update to my previous review. The spa is always clean. The staff always courteous. They are awesome and I highly recommend if you are in need of a good back rub! I woke up with a crick in my neck and went in during lunch for a 30 minute neck rub. WOW, that was awesome. What makes this place so cool is that it is so clean and professional from the american spa perspective. The staff speak english very well. They are very polite and the prices are very affordable. I only wish they had a licensed acupuncturist on staff. That would make this spa complete in my opinion. read more

Have been here several times for a couple's massage. The massages and prices are great. The owner takes it upon himself to make sure your experience is great. The place itself is small and has an odd set up. The rooms were very clean, but you can hear a lot of noise coming from outside and hallway. But you can't beat the prices! read more

I LOVE this spa! During my second visit, I got the sensitive skin facial and aromatherapy massage. Both were AMAZING!!!! The massage that was done on my face pretty much put me to sleep. Whole experience was nice and relaxing. A few things threw me off tough. First that they didn't have any baths or saunas to hang out in before or after treatment. Secondly the single-use plastic packaging for the single-use underwear and the single-use plastic shower cap seemed avoidable. As an environmentalist I carry a water bottle everywhere to avoid waste but he guy went and filled a paper cup without asking me, to my disappointment. The scrub and massage was only for the back side or me, never did she invite me to flip over. Last and most significant is I tipped $20 on a $120 bill which I didn't think was bad... but then guy deadass asked for $5 more.
