Had a great experience for my first time at Greenway Spa along with my sister. We saw their sign outside $30 for 30min massage and thought we'd try it out for a great price since we live nearby. Windy and Ivy were incredibly thorough for the short amount of time and were able to pinpoint exactly where we were tight. We felt like the whole thing was an hour long even though it wasn't. Extremely disappointing massage given the other positive reviews. Went in after an accident with a very sore back and this dude managed to avoid pressing on anything that was tight, which was nearly my entire back. Absolutely zero pressure to the point in felt more like tracing vs massaging. Many times throughout the massage I just thought about getting up and leaving. I wish I had as it only got more disappointing. Also, while I'm used to the dingy massage spot, this one was particularly so. Despite the very, very poor massage I wasn't going to review but the guy insisting on a $10 tip instead of a $5 tip after clearly not even trying during the service really rubbed me the wrong way. This place looks extremely sketchy on the outside. Bars on the dusty windows, going down steps, a door that wouldn't open until I pushed harder. Inside it's not much better. They have a fish tank and some relaxing decorations, but I wondered if I was accidentally in the wrong kind of massage parlor. I didn't leave because I really needed some knots out of my back and I was up for an adventure. I could always stop them if the ending started to become happy. This is one of the best massages I've ever had, and I've been to many, many different places. I left feeling like I was floating. There was no funny business. It pains me to write this review because I've been here a bunch and used to love the place. I just came back from a session with a masseuse I've never had before that was so uncomfortable, that I had to end it early. I should have known something would be off when I walked into the room and only found a small towel to cover with (usually a large blanket is provided). I ignored this red flag, undressed, and covered myself as best as possible. Almost immediately after starting, the masseuse gratuitously pressed himself against me (and yes, ALL of himself, if you get what I'm saying). When it came time to pull the towel down, he pulled it way past my backside, exposing all of my naked rear. After about 10-20 minutes of silently grappling with whether or not I was overreacting, I told him that I wanted to end the massage early. I'm way too upset about this experience to ever want to go back, which is a total bummer because it's really close my apartment. read more

The place is simple, but it's clean and comfortable. The massage was amazing! The woman I had immediately spotted my problem areas and worked on stiff muscles, and it really worked. South Williamsburg peeps, please start frequenting this place immediately so it stays in business and I can finally live my life knot-free!!!! The setup might seem slightly sketchy as it's in the basement of an old building adjacent to a parking lot (I made my husband walk me in just in case it was shady), but once you enter you'll see immediately that the place is tidy and clean and the service is amazing. The space has no frills but the small stalls are separated by real walls (not just curtains) and everything is new and spotless. I paid $30 for a 30 minute back massage which was actually more than 30 minutes of back, neck, shoulder, arm, and head work. The masseuse was very receptive to my every request and even used hot stones on me (which she did not charge me for). I needed this massage soooo bad and was so grateful. I wanted to pay for the extra time she gave me but unfortunately they are cash only and I only had $40 on me so that's all I could pay... But it was easily worth $60 or more! I am so excited to be able to get a great affordable massage without having to go into Chinatown. Please help me keep these folks in business, I promise you won't regret it! read more

I was a bit hesitant to come here because of the lack of reviews but it was pretty great. I work and live very close by so this place is going to be my new favorite. No fuss massages but its still a relaxing environment and you can't beat it for the price in this area. To test it out I got a 30 minute deep tissue massage and its a mix between thai and american massage and it was great. I like really strong massages so this definitely did the trick. I have been going to Greenway Spa several times now because my ex massage therapist who took care of me for 4 years retired recently. I was very skeptical at first to try Greenway Spa or any of other massage places but I am glad that I gave a try with Greenway Spa. I had 2 different therapist worked on me but my favorite is Rosie. She specializes in Swedish style massage and very relaxing. One time I went in there when I had very bad lower back pain, with a hope that Rosie would make it feel better .... she spent chunk of time just to work on my back that day and next morning ... the pain was significantly reduced ! I could not thank her enough because I couldn't sleep for 2 nights from the pain. I don't think this story would apply to everyone, but i am hoping this review/my recent experience would help anyone who are considering to try here as well as Greenway Spa's future success.
