I initially got 1 ml lip filler in June 2023. As my lips healed, I noticed there were noticeable bumps on the inner lining of my lips. I waited until October 2023 and went it to get the upper lip (the nurse agreed that the bumps looked bad and offered to redo my upper lip for free). I got it dissolved and had to go back after a couple weeks to get it redone. My upper lip looked and still looks like my natural size. It never got the plump or the shape of what I previously had with the 1 ml. looks like the nurse just wanted me to get off her chair and did something very cheap. my lips still have bumps to this day. spent over $700 just to have bumps on my lips and get played with some fake "i will redo it for free with the same quality". very disappointed!! do not recommend. read more

There is NO WAY this place deserves 5 stars. Look at the 'not recommended' review dated 1/21/16, as that's also representative of my experience! The laser hair removal is the service I have experience with here. They boast about how their machines are the newest technology, but newer machines does not a hairless woman make. I'll take the slightly older ones in an awesome W. Haven treatment center/spa (that's a tip for any of you groupon shopping and reading reviews prior to buying)! Are they nice? Sure! Is it a new building? Yes! Is the office nicely decorated and comfortable? Definitely! Should I have this much hair after EIGHT sessions? Absolutely not! I paid for three more in West Haven (Anti-Aging Centers) to hopefully finish what Pure Skin started once I complete my ninth session that's already paid for here. I'll continue to add onto this, but for anyone looking at reviews, they shouldn't think this is the best place ever for laser hair removal! 9 sessions at Anti-Aging Centers and I'm done (on a different area that I got treated), 8 at Pure Skin and I'm patchy and not even close to being done with the treatment. Take your money and business elsewhere! They often offer "deals" to sell you massages or facials at a discounted rate, which is still way over what I'd be willing to pay. Their offers don't seem like deals at all to me, and the only business I see booming there is for laser hair removal. They must have trapped us all with groupons to get us in the door, because while they offer me deals and discounts to start treating a different body part, I'm on a wait list for my last and final appointment I've already paid for! Most of the staff have been great, but I'm not paying all this money to talk to a nice woman for 15 minutes every couple of months. Full disclosure which I never thought I'd admit, but I'm getting my lower legs done here, and not all of the women have gone low enough, so you've heard of ring around the collar? Well I have a hair ring around the ankle! Seeing it again today, after having the 8th treatment last week finally upset me enough to get this review done so you'll know what you're getting! Got lip filler for the first time here and it was the most painful experience of my life. I left with bad bruising and swelling (which is normal) but the swelling caused the inside of my lips to have lumps. The nurse never warned me of this, so I went a month with painful lumps in my upper lip where it was injected. I went in a month later and a different nurse told me I should have came back instantly after the lumps had formed so they could massage them out. Since I was not informed about this, it was too late and the lumps were too hard. She dissolved my $800 filler "for free". Worst experience and total waste of money. Not to mention they are very overpriced compared to other med spas in CT. Will not return for this service but spa is nice. read more

Reposting this review here as it got deleted when I posted on Google Reviews. Along with the other 1star reviews... I have been going to PS for a while now for Dysport injections. In the time I have gone to PS, I have had 3 pretty horrible experiences. I have ended up with one "droopy", saggy, smaller eye twice now. The first time it happened, they fixed it with a touch up. It just happened again two weeks ago and I went in to have it fixed yesterday and they did not fix it. I was told "this might just be a thing for you, since it's happened before." and I was sent on my way. I felt dismissed. Another experience, was when I went in for a fundraiser, a tech was removing the needle from my forehead and squirted the Dysport IN MY EYEBALL. She was very aloof about it all. She did not even rinse my eye, I had to go home and rinse it out, I ended up having a dilated pupil and blurry vision for the day because of the incident, which was frightening. I must say, I have never had an issue when either of the owners have injected me. They've always done a beautiful job. And when the eye incident happened, the owner called me and was super helpful and kind, but no offer of compensation for the droopy eyes or squirt to the eyeball. But the experience I've had with the others is just not worth it at this point. So I am cancelling my membership and moving to another medspa in town as soon as I finish paying off my very expensive, slightly droopy right eye. read more

Parking is limited, always had to park on the (quiet) street. The place is very clean and the waiting area is relaxing with nice comfy chairs and music. I went here for 6 sessions or laser hair removal. It didn't work one bit. Not even at all. I spent $800 and didn't get any results. When I told them this, they wanted me to spend another $800 for more sessions. The mistake they made was having the laser on TOO LOW for the first 3-4 sessions. I've been to Pure Skin a few times and I love Cheryl, one of their aesthetians. She is a sweetheart. However, every time I call or go in I just can't help but feel like the receptionist is fake and rehearsed. It's annoying. Also, some time this past February, I went in to buy products and make an appointment and there was no receptionist at the desk. I though, no problem...I'll look and see what products I need and I'm sure someone will be right out. Three people, within 15 minutes came out, went behind the desk and left. Here I am standing, waiting politely to catch their attention, actually waved my hand at one person, but not a single one of them said anything...not even a "hi," or "someone will he right with you." I put my products back on the shelf and walked out. Ill never spend my money there again or waste my time driving an hour from Danbury to their spa when there are so many other ones in between. Since then, I continue to get emails from them saying "come back and get 25% off your next service." Are you kidding me? The customer service is so poor I would rather not deal with the hassle. They're so concerned about making a good social media presence, they should concentrate more on what really matters: genuine customer service, services that work and show results and less fakeness. read more

I found Pure Skin thru Groupon. I went in this week for an IPL Facial to help with my age spots and uneven skin tone. I've had this done before, at a medical spa. The spa itself is very warm and welcoming and the staff was so friendly. I went into the relaxation room to fill out paperwork and got so comfy, I could have napped. Jen explained everything and answered all of my questions. The whole treatment takes about 10-15 minutes. The last time I had this treatment at a different spa, they priced different parts of your face separately and to get your whole face done, it was quite expensive. I also found the treatment at Pure Skin to be much more thorough, where Jen treated my entire face - not just trouble areas. While there, I had the opportunity to speak with the esthician, who recommended the best type of follow up facial for my skin type. I left making an appointment for a chemical peel and a 2nd IPL facial over the course of the next 3 months. I'm very happy I found Pure Skin and absolutely recommend it! read more

I went to this spa about two weeks ago. It was my first and last time there. I have had Botox and fillers several times at another spa with excellent results however I relocated. I told them to inject Botox along my hairline and brow, that's all I also wanted filler in a fold on my right cheek and the corners of my mouth to correct a frown. First the numbing wasn't left on long enough to work. She proceeded to inject Botox over my ENTIRE forehead. She placed filler in areas that only made things worse. She also left one corner of my mouth pointing down and the other up. At no time did she step back to look at what she had done hence the lopsided face. She did this at warp speed on a Friday afternoon. When she was done she gave me a mirror and a can of pineapple juice and said "when you are finished see the girls at reception". Before I left I had a black eye and things got worse. I had to see a plastic surgeon who said she could fix the uneven appearance for another$2000. Pure skin has a no refund policy. They were willing to see me to discuss the situation but more filler may be required and that would cost. What ever made them think I would go back. read more

I came here for Botox. I had my forehead done yesterday. Only time will tell in regards to results. However, I thought the staff was excellent. The receptionist who checked me out was very kind and easy to talk to. Their relaxation room is an excellent touch. The facility is clean and very cute. I signed up for the monthly Botox program. There was no huge down payment, as I saw in one review. It was easy to set up and will save me money so I'm excited about it. Plus there's a lot of added bonuses for doing so, such as 100$ off fillers, 10% off products, a 25$ gc for signing up etc. The woman who did my actual injections was so sweet and personable. I was impressed she still works in a ER as well. So far my experience has been nothing less than excellent. read more

Saw Cambria a few times, and she's AWESOME. Very knowledgeable and friendly. They have great products and services, however, it is incredibly overpriced. It's more than I have ever paid for services in Seattle or the Bay Area. The original facial alone is $150, and then for 'add-ons' like microcurrent, microderm, etc is an additional $50 per service. Would've loved to continue going there, but not going to support an overpriced business. read more

I got a Groupon deal for this place and did six laser treatments for my legs and I got absolutely no results I decided to call them and their excuse was that their old machine was not as good and then were asking me to purchase more so that I can use the new machine. I told them that was not fair to me that their old machine was not as good as the new one... and yes the place is beautiful but that doesn't matter if they have no results there are ripoffs they did not handle my problem well save your money you will not have results read more

This place is like musicle chairs. Whoever walks in first get the service done. Forget about it if you have an appt. I made an appt. for 5:30 today for a pedicure. The owner said come between 5:15 and 5:30 because I said I am a busy women today and I really did not want to wait. I arrived their at 5:15 and was told to "pick color". Another client walked in and the owner said it would be best if I would reschedule and he would be able to give me a whole 5% discount next time. Which would be $1.00.. There was no " im sorry for misunderstanding or Anything! I drove their so fast and was counting on this pedi for many reasons. I decided to give this salon another chance, since last year I received a pedi and all my manicurist did was look around and buffed and filed my ankle which was painful. If anyone receives this kind of treatment or if you feel anything is not entirely sterilized, it is your responsibility to contact state board of Cosmetology and Barbering or the health dept in Hartford County to report this and any other problems you have.Thank God their are laws that a lot of business do not obey unless they get citations. I would never recommend this place to anyone unless they never had manicure or pedicure, then they would not be disappointed by the service they received. I read more
