Cosy little place, I called a couple places. I missed my appointment with my tech in California & badly need my pedicure done. I walked in this afternoon @ 3pm and got an appointment right away. I don't feel rushed and my nail tech, Nancy is good, she listened to what my needs are, the way I like it cleaned and as a result, I feel relaxed and like my pedicure very much! The sparkly gold color is perfect. They have many color selection. I didn't do the gel pedicure this visit. The owners, Tammy & her husband are welcoming. I like that there is a menu and I was able to be clear of what I would like and the price I will be paying, so no more upselling once I sit in the chair like other places. They include the removal in the service price which is a big plus! When I come in to do my nails, I don't like it when the tech try to persuade me to do this or that for $3, $5 more etc. This place doesn't do that! I give them 6 stars... I chose the DELUXE pedicure and it was fabulous! I plan to come back with my boyfriend and/or friends here. I receive amazing scrub and massages all the way to my calves. My feet look so bright & moisturized when it was done. I even suggested that they offer massages here, neck and shoulder would be great! Pure Zen Nail Spa is the correct name for this wonderful place. I now have been here twice and both times I had the best service of any nail salon I have been to. I go here for the Spa Pedicures and they are the best. Very clean they even put a bag in the foot bowl. You get a timed spa treatment about 45 to 50min for 25 dollars. They do have other packages and prices. You get a tray of goodies that they will use on your feet and lower legs. You also get a free beverage of your choice. The place is in a little strip mall not real big they have 8 message chairs. And only about 4 nail chairs. They have not been busy on the days that we have gone. This was Sunday. The place does not have the strong finger nail polish smell that a lot of them have. Instead the place has a nice perfume smell of vanilla, lavender, and rose very nice. They play soothing music for the ears and on the TV they have pretty waves on the beach, mountains again soothing to the eyes and very relaxing. The staff is very professional and they focus on taking care of you. Not like some place that will sit there talking to each other. Or answering the phones or getting up to help other people. Pure Zen Nail Spa gives you complete wonderful care. The staff are very friendly. As you can see every body gives them 5 stars for a reason. I like this place being a secret but they need customers to stay in business. So the word needs to go out Pure Zen Nail Spa is a top notch spa service. Well, where do I start. Today is officially our first day in Arlignton. We are from AZ and with all the packing and moving we didn't get to do our nails. I don't know how this flys here in Texas but I'm pretty sure that you're suppose to get what you ask for, or at least that's why we are used to. First my daughter wanted a new full set or acrylics and they wouldn't do it. The lady told her "she didn't do long nails like that" and then try to convince her to just fill in her old set which of course she refused. I on the other hand only wanted a Gel Mani/Pedi and they agreed. I've always done Gel on both my hands and toes because I use open toe shoes and heels all the time. Well they tried to convince me not to get gel on my toes because "it would take to long" I insisted so they charged me $25 extra to remove my old gel and do new. Let's talk about the removal, they took my old gel by filing them and he was scratching and peeling the skin around my toes, then he soaked them in Acetone, now imagine how much that hurt!! Then then didn't even shape my nails. I ended up with a round toe nail and a square toe nail. How is that OKAY??? and to top it off I paid $80 for a gel mani pedi. Over all, this place is unprofessional, they don't know what they are doing. I don't understand the reviews. The only positive thing I could say, the young girl that painted my nails is a sweetheart and she was so careful and detailed orientated I left her a $10 tip but I will never be back and if this is what Texans are okay with. I may open my own salon like in AZ and set better standards. Don't go here!! Oh and there was a lady that walked in during my ordeal wanting her acrylics removed because she was going to have surgery and she must of been in pain because she kept asking the technician if she had removed acrylics before and the lady just kept giggling. I've been through a lot of nail salon and knew of the usual routine or step by step how they do acrylic nails so I can tell that the nail tech that did my nails is using shortcuts. She's also satisfied with only one coat of color for my nails when it's obvious that there's missed patches and pale in color. And like what I expected not even a week the gel color peeled off! For the money I paid, I think the quality doesn't match up. However, I love the service of the one who did the design of my nails. I told her I didn't like how she was treating us and that she was being very rude. She refused to speak English to us yet it was obvious the things she was saying were inappropriate. I am giving 3 stars only because the customer service was initially very good. I went in for a mani/pedi a few weeks back. They got me in very quickly and began service. They suggested I try a dip manicure- and was told it would last the longest, longer than gel. I have been doing my own gels for years but this was a special treat for me as I rarely have time for myself. My gels usually last 1-1.5 weeks. I chose the cucumber pedi and it was ok. Nothing to rave or complain about just standard. The dips are where the review goes down. Initially I loved them. But 2 days after having them one chipped badly. I was able to come in and they fit me in to fix it. But 3 days later they were all lifting. Within 5 days of having them they literally all popped off. After reading many reviews about dips, add this was the first time to try them- this was not supposed to happen. read more

My sister and I came in yesterday evening for manicures (our usual place was closed due to a change in ownership) and we both agree they were the worst manis of our life. My sister wanted a simple manicure with her nails shaped and buffed, but her nail shape ended up very uneven and the buffer they used did not leave her nails shiny at all. She asked several times to have it corrected, but to no avail. All it did was seem to make them angry. As to my experience, it was awful. I prefer the acrylic dip manicures which they do offer at this salon. The lady was so rough with the dremel tool that she damaged the surface of my nails (my usual place was always very gentle and left my nails quite healthy despite the acrylic dip) and at times caused me physical pain by digging in to my nail beds and burning me as well. She also could not get my nails evenly shaped. They were trimmed and filed at an angle and she couldn't seem to get it right no matter how many times I pointed it out. I also don't love the color, but since I picked it out I can't really blame the salon. I actually had to get an emery board and fix the shape of my nails myself when I got home. When I was finally done, the charge for my manicure was $40, which seemed expensive to me even for acrylic, and I'm actually embarrassed to say I was dumb enough to pay that much for an awful manicure that I had to correct at home. I'd love to go elsewhere and have my manicure redone, but a) I'm afraid of the damage they did to my nails, and b) it's not really in the budget now. I will NEVER step foot inside Pure Zen again, which is a shame since I used to come here with my little girl when they first opened up. The services they provide are nowhere near the quality they used to be. read more
