Contrary to what other people say, I enjoy my time here with my boyfriend I got my massage package through groupon (the chocolate couple package) about $100. It was supposedly for our 1 year anniversary and I thought, hey why not a surprise for him? Our one year anniversary was one week after valentine's day and I thought if I book it that week for that weekend (21st Feb) they should have slots for us.. But NO... they dont.. First it was very hard for me to get through to them.. They NEVER EVER answer any call.. NEVER. So those interested, DO NOT ever call, cause I asked them directly and they told me they DON'T even have an answering machine inside... lol or..Leave them a voicemail in hopes they will call you back (which they did after 2 weeks... Booking online is the easiest way. They will email you etc /find a way to contact you. They are nice. I called that week, but I was only able to schedule 2 months in advance because most of couple massage day are booked on the weekend. So my earliest was APRIL 4th but I couldn't make it I changed it with ease through online communication on April 11th They made sure that you know they changed the address.. They called you a day before to confirm the appointment and double make sure you know the right place. DO NOT google search for this place because they moved.. Go to groupon, it is on N Main ST (5009 1/2 N Main st). *note that 1/2 because it is the apartment garage right next to a house (5009) I kinda feel bad for the lady because I'm sure it happened a lot to her that she knows we're here for massage when she opens the door.. lol Anyway I got complimentary mimosa.. (erm.. orange juice....) and chocolate and strawberries (4 of them lol) I thought it would be chocolate dipped strawberry like the previous reviewer mentioned, I wasn't impressed but I wasn't really lookin forward to the refreshment lol it was my first massage so it felt great. at first they asked what kinda pressure you want, since it's my first time, she put medium pressure for me. I get to choose between a back scrub or a foot scrub as well. I got a foot scrub and my boyfriend got a back scrub. Overall, we enjoyed the experience, and my boyfriend loves it. As mentioned before, the location has changed -- they're located on N. Main Street a mile from 45S. I found the place very easily .. I've had an appt for 5pm today booked for a couple of months now, but when I checked in, I was informed that my appt slot was canceled because the therapist didn't show up today. I never received a call or anything, which apparently was a miscommunication between the therapists & their manager. I was sad at first, but Rubye (who checked me in) came to my rescue & offered to take me in after her client. It took me 30 min to get here, plus I didn't have anything to do, so I opted to wait for Rubye. While I was waiting, everyone was so sweet & kind. Kept checking to make sure I was okay, & one of them (a lady) offered me a mimosa & an array of goodies because of the inconvenience caused, even though I was perfectly fine! Btw, the 1.5 hour long wait was TOTALLY worth it! Rubye works wonders. I didn't realize how tense my shoulders were, but she worked them out & they're much better. I got a Groupon for the Pure Bliss package, so I got a facial & a 60 min massage. It was so relaxing that I fell asleep during the massage, & I dreamt that I was falling ... which meant I jerked awake, startling Rubye ): so sorry! But hey, I was so relaxed to the point that I was dreaming, so it's a good thing in my book! Hopefully I didn't snore ... Soooo overall: very clean, relaxing ambiance, friendly staff, AMAZING massage. They were hard to get a hold of via telephone, but I have Rubye's business card, so calling for an appt shouldn't be so hard now ^__^ I hope they resolve the miscommunication soon -- I got lucky, but others may not be as lucky. Worst experience ever! I made my appointment for March 27th, 2015 back on February 4th, 2015. Today, March 24th, 2015, I received a call from the manager, Karen, that they had to cancel due to a construction issue. Although I understand that was out of there control, what they had total control over is they way they handle the cancellations. Karen, was not only rude to me and would not let me speak, but she was very unapologetic. I had also made reservations to complete my "relaxing stay-cation" at a very expensive hotel, which now I can't cancel. Karen would not even let me speak, it got to the point where I had to ask her to stop talking please, because I was at this point not comfortable using them anymore and requested a refund. The very opposite of a clam, relaxing, hospitable experience....and I never even got to visit the place. However, they way they handle their first impression to their clients probably reflects the experience I would have had this Friday. read more

One positive thing to say: the massage was decent. Everything else about this experience was distressing. 1) We couldn't find the place. We arrived 30 minutes early but spent 45 minutes driving around, even drove back and forth to BOTH locations. 2) No one answers the phone. Ever. We called when we were lost, but just got voicemail every time. 3) Based on their website they seem legit. Oh contraire. It's an apartment. A garage apartment in a sketchy area of Houston. No wonder we couldn't find it. We weren't looking at garage apartments, we were looking for businesses. 4) Availability was terrible. No weekends for two months. 5) The couples chocolate lovers package is a joke. They gave us 2-3 pieces of chocolate and that sums it up. Nothing else. 6) We never signed any papers. No sign in. I was underwhelmed when I drove up. I was hoping it would be nicer on the inside of this run down old strip shopping center. No, that wasn't the case. A bunch of mismatched pieces of cheap furniture and accessories in the lobby. Then I was taken to the massage room which was worse. Red silk sheets draped the red painted room. Again not the experience I was hoping for. There was nothing Zen about it. I find it hard to believe that they have any repeat customers and probably why they do the Travelzoo and Groupon deals. I purchased a Travelzoo coupon for a Couples 1 hour hot stone massage for $99. Regret it. My massage was OK. The thing you place you place into had movable padding and I kept trying to reposition my face on it, finally I had to reach up and move the padding over. The back scrub I didn't care for at all, then I was cleaned up with some towels brought out of an electric roaster. Plus a bit of the back scrub was still on her hands and when I turned over for her to do the front she continued to rub me with that rough salt so, no, not a Zen experience. I will be leery of all Travelzoo coupons from now on. Lesson learned. I would give it no stars if that was allowed. I do read more

I hate giving bad reviews or anything of the like, BUT if a company is going to take the time and effort to offer a Groupon deal, then they should also put the time and effort into: 1) revamping their answering service so that it transfers to a REAL PERSON, or 2) hire a REAL PERSON to answer the phone. If the first two, for whatever reason, are impossible, then allow walk-ins. If I lived nearby, I'd stop by to book the appointment in person rather than deal with the online booking. My boyfriend purchased a chocolate lovers' package for us in June which we were both excited about, but then couldn't get an appointment until September. Yikes. Both of us work and can't leave in the middle of the day to go to a massage appointment, so we needed an evening or weekend. Nope. Nothing available. We were going to settle for the September appointment until he received word that he was being transferred out of Houston in August. Not wanting the deal to go to waste, I decided to call today to see if maybe there were any cancellations and we could be squeezed in. I called no less than four times in a row and got a strange answering service every time. I didn't leave a voice mail after seeing the other reviews -- if I wanted to talk to myself, I don't need a phone. My father purchased a Groupon for a Chocolate Lover's couples massage as a gift to me and my fiancé for Christmas. The Groupon stated the instructions clear as day as to how to book the appointment so that was not a problem. The only issue I had with booking an appointment is that their appointment slots fill up very quickly so when I booked in January, the soonest appointments available were in March. The day before my appointment, I received a call and it was from a blocked number so of course, I did not answer. They left a message and it was from Pure Zen Therapy. They were calling to confirm my appointment and to make sure I was aware of their change of address. Initially I didn't find it strange that they had a change of address, until I looked up the address. I read another review where the client posted pictures of their new address and I was NOT impressed. I was actually very eerie and afraid to even attend the appointment after seeing pictures of the new location. The new location is actually a 2-story duplex house that looks extremely old and creepy from the outside. It's enough to scare anyone away. After a while of going back and forth about whether or not we would go anymore, my fiancé and I decided we should give it a try anyways. The location was easy do find, but they no longer have the signage outside. Though the outside looks very shady, I will admit the inside is very clean and well kept. The look of a duplex is still very evident in its design, but they've done a great job in trying to change that aspect. The area is fairly small, but that makes it a little more personal. Our package came with mimosas, chocolates, and strawberries. The presentation was okay but I was not impressed. I guess I imagined we would have chocolate covered strawberries or some kind of chocolate dip, it was just two strawberries, with chocolate candies and pretzels. The mimosa was excellent though! They gave us the refreshments in a corner that was blocked off. It was pretty private but still a little awkward. After our refreshments, we were taken to the massage rooms. Our massages were the BEST PART! It was so relaxing and they definitely know where to relieve tension. They used a variety of oils, hot stones, and gave a choice of getting a back or foot scrub. All of the 60-minutes were used catering to my fiancé and I in our massages. There was very little down time, only for them to get supplies. They also frequently check to make sure we were okay. After our massages, our bodies felt light and very relieved. I was very impressed. Overall, If you can get over the look of the outside of the building and the ambiance, you're in for a treat. I would offer better refreshments as well, but other than that, we had a very simple & pleasant experience. My fiancé liked the personal, small-business atmosphere as well. I feel sorry for anyone who books an appointment with this establishment. The multiple addresses for this "business" confirms "buyer beware." My first clue should have been that when I called to make an appointment to redeem my Groupon the phone was never answered. You can leave a message but they will not return your call. After several attempts to make an appointment by phone, I finally emailed them. All appointment scheduling was completed via email and it took a few email exchanges for them to finally schedule the correct date for the massage. I went today to my appointment. What a disaster. I live literally one block from their new heights location and I could not find the business. I called over thirty times on my phone from 2:45 to 3:10 and no one ever picked up. A simple act of picking up the phone could have resulted in me making the appointment at 2:50. Nope, could not be bothered to pick up the phone. When I finally discovered the location (it does not have the business name, only "Office Center") I walked in and was treated poorly by the receptionist. This sparked my not so nice side because she was sitting right at the desk with the phone next to her. She asked why I didn't call. Um, I did call and I had the proof. I was told I would have to reschedule my appointment because I was late. I was only late because of their incompetence. The customer service alone would not encourage me to ever step foot in the establishment again. I can't even say if their massage services are adequate. Worst massage experience I've had. 1) Almost impossible to book an appointment. Nobody ever answers or calls back and when I finally managed to speak to someone they had almost no appointments available, which I find hard to believe now that I've been there. 2) Located in a horrible, run down, dodgy looking strip mall. I hoped I would walk in and the salon would at least be nice on the inside but was sadly disappointed, this place is in need of a major makeover. 3) While I'm generally happy with any massage this one wasn't great. It felt lazy and like she didn't really know what she was doing. This business is incompetent and the worst customer service experience I've ever had. I called FOUR times to confirm my appointment. Their location is not visible on Google and I ended up driving to the wrong location. 20 minutes before my appointment, the manager (Karen) said my information was not on file anywhere in their system and that my appointment does not exist. That my name nor my phone number does not appear on their system. How is that possible when they called me twice to pay in advance for my massage? Now they are saying the next available appointment is in November. I want a refund and I'm not coming back! Do not make the same mistake that I did. read more

It has been a while since my friend and I both went. The new location does give you a not so good vibe when you get there, but it changes once you walk in. (Just be prepared to park in a small drive way) We have been wanting to return, the only thing that kept us away was our work schedules and the distance. Stay away from this place! I received a Groupon as a gift. First challenge was to make an appointment. They changed their phone number, then no one picked up the phone. Finally I was able to schedule my appointment, and received e-mail confirmation. When I went for massage at the address stated in my confirmation e-mail, there was no Spa salon anywhere. Instead there was homeless man sitting... I waited inside of my car next to the door that says "office center" and was trying to reach them. The area is creepy. I'd been calling the number listed on-line and finally lady picked up the phone and was very surprised to learn I had appointment. She put me on 10 minutes hold and while I was on hold, she drove to the "spa". She let me in to that "office center" building and told me there was no appointment in their system and they cannot do massage that day. I showed her my confirmation e-mail and she said there is nothing she can do. No apologies, no willingness to reschedule or somehow keep me there, nothing!!!! I want to begin this review with I won this item at a silent auction for charity. What was posted for the item was a picture of the company website, which I do have to give them kudos for. The website looks professional. I would have never thought to expect what was to come after. I called in early January to get an appointment. She acted as if they are so busy the only opening she had was January 30. I booked it. I had won a couples massage and was really looking forward to spending time with my husband and this would be his first massage. I should have known it was fishy because she knew I had a groupon before I even told her. I also had to give her my groupon number at the booking. I am assuming this is how she gets paid. Groupon gets listed as being used, they send her a check. I received an email 2 days beforehand confirming appointment, then the day before Karen calls and says that she just wants to verify the address change. She emailed me the address because I was travelling in my car. First, I saw many compalints regarding this establishment, people in this same dilemma. My first thought was they are getting me in here for an hour so they can steal my car, or they are going to drug me and do something to me. My brain starts going in overdrive. I called, had to leave a message. She did return my call though. When I voiced my concerns she informed that I could cancel my appointment, but she could not give me a refund. I would have to contact groupon for that. I will be at 9 AM when they open. When I asked her why the address was different than the groupon, she said that they recently moved. However, according to other reviews this has been months ago. All she wanted to do was cancel the appointment and not listen to any concerns. *Location is now 5009 1/2 N. Main St. It is a small house that admittedly looks shady on the outside but is comfortable and clean inside. Parking in their driveway is not always possible, but there is street parking in the neighborhood.* I purchased 2 Groupons for the Pure Bliss package for my future mother-in-law and myself. Luckily I had read the reviews and was calling 6 weeks in advance for a Friday morning appointment. I called and left several voicemails before figuring out the secret. They open at 11AM during the week, so call at 11:05. That's when I've had the best luck getting ahold of them. For future appointments, book on-location. You will need to book a month out, but they're also great about booking recurring appointments. I honestly think they leave a large number of appointments for customers without Groupons, and they don't really have a receptionist, which keeps the costs low, since the people answering the phones are the massage therapists between appointments. The confirmation calls do come through on my cell phone as a Blocked number, but I've also started receiving confirmation emails since I've become a repeat customer, which works better for me anyway. Why do I deal with all of this hassle, do you ask? Their non-Groupon rates are the best for the quality of massage I have found anywhere in Houston, and they have evening and weekend hours. For example, on certain days they honor the $89 Groupon price for the 1-hour couples massage which comes with mimosas and a little snack plate without you having to buy the Groupon, and even if you are a repeat customer. I've since been back twice, and the massage has been great every time. I've also gotten both the foot scrub and face treatment, and they were both fun little bonuses to the whole experience. They massage the whole hour, which I appreciate (not the 45 minutes you get with chains). One of my favorite things is that they wipe the lotion/oil they use off with hot towels, so you're not greasy as you're getting dressed. They are also always super grateful to get a tip, which is also unusual in my Houston massage experience. read more

Once I was able to get an appointment set up, it was smooth sailing from there. I received the massage as a birthday gift and my service came with chocolates, strawberries & mimosas!! After enjoying my mid day snacks, I was taken back to the massage room and had a fantastic 1st time experience. I will definitely go back and anticipate great levels of service everytime. As others have stated in reviews, they have relocated to 5009 N. Main, 77009. Not the most appealing building from the outside but once inside ..... it's a very intimate setting. I have been calling all day since 10 am to make an appointment as the Groupon states (I purchased the couples massage including the chocolate dipped strawberries, etc.) I left my call back information and still hadn't heard back (it is now 3:30pm). Finally I tried calling one more time and someone answered the phone. I asked if I could schedule a Saturday appointment and was advised that they did not have one available till mid Oct and apparently that can quickly change. This is understandable - that is why I am trying to schedule an appointment. She then proceeded to tell me that they prefer Groupon users to be more flexible (wanting me to go during the week). I work 7am-4pm Mon-Fri at an oil/gas establishment - that's not possible. I then said I wish that would have been specified in the Groupon and she said well then go get a refund. Honestly I was really looking forward to getting this massage/experience. She was clear that she did not care for my business.
