I went to Lux Bodyworks Studio for the first time today. It is not a spa - it is a chiropractic office! Don't get confused! I searched for the place for a while, found the building. I ended up being late since I couldn't figure out if I was in the right place. When I tried to use the directory in the Herman Medical Building, they did not list Lux Bodyworks!! I sat there for 5 minutes (and I was already late since I couldn't find the place) trying to figure out if I was in the right building. I called and they told me it was in CST office, which would have been nice to know ahead of time. They should probably let people know that on the phone when they make the appointment (especially first time customers). I got there, had to fill out paper work and then finally could go in for my massage. Unfortunately since I was late I didn't get the full 60 minutes that I was supposed to get. My masseuse did a good job, but I was still annoyed I couldn't find the place and wasn't told it was in a chiropractic office or CST office. The room was clean, but like a doctor's office and not really like a spa. It could have been nicer with at least a nice aroma or candle burning. When I was done with my appointment I felt like they were just trying to force me to sign up for a chiropractic appointment. They claimed it was free but I'm sure they would just find something to make me pay for if I went. I didn't like that and will not be going for any kind of consultation. I decided to show myself some love and got the groupon for this location. Turns out it's housed in a chiropractic office known as CST Wellness. This translates into DO NOT LOOK FOR LUX BODYWORKS STUDIO anywhere in the building. It will not be labeled as such. I finally asked the guard who said "oh that, yeah, it's really CST Wellnes." Guess I should've looked at the suite number on the site before walking in. I checked in and the lady was very nice about it. She also did not pressure me for tip before or after the massage which was nice. The office itself is small but cozy, with free hot tea of your choice while waiting. I originally booked for a girl, but last minute turns out she won't be there, and is it okay if it's someone else, who turns out is in his first month and still training. I did pay a groupon price, so I guess... Don't get me wrong, he was nice, he talked when needed, he wasn't awkward, but it was not an excellent massage. I would not come back to this location, even if the groupon price was the normal price. Groupon's are supposed to get you customers in the door and get the word out, not for you to train your employees. :-( read more

I wouldn't know what the massages are like. I couldn't even get an appointment. My husband bought me a Groupon package of 5 massages to use, and I have 6 months to use them. I called on a Wednesday to schedule an appointment. No answer. I tried logging onto their online booking system. The system was "unavailable". I emailed them directly. Finally, someone responded. But they did not have one single appointment for two weeks. So I emailed them back with my availability for the next two months. Once again, no response. I will be contacting Groupon to get a refund, it's just not worth the hassle. We are all very busy people, and don't need the added stress of scheduling conflicts. read more

Lux Bodyworks is the massage portion of a chiropractic business housed within an office building. It can be a little difficult to find the first time, and you will likely have to pay for metered parking on the street or in the building parking lot, or hunt for a free street parking a couple blocks away. There are no amenities other than complementary tea in the waiting room--the restroom is not located in the business but in the hallway--but given the excellent price for a massage you get with a groupon, this can be overlooked. I was always on time for my appointments, but for my last couple appointments, the masseuse did not bring me into the room until five after, despite always ending my massage on the hour. The biggest problem for me: be aware that this business is NOT open on the weekends! When I first began going for my massages, there were two excellent female masseuses. Michelle left at the end of last year, and a young male masseuse was hired to take her place. He is very nice but seems a little inexperienced, and both of my massages were disappointing. I was a fan when I walked in and I was instantly greeted and offered hot tea! They had great music and the staff was very friendly. Earlier in the day I was reminded via text message about my appointment and I was lucky to find parking in front of the building but I believe there is parking for this building off Caroline St. JR was very nice and sweet and did a great job! He was very thorough and made sure I felt comfortable. He spend extra time on spots that I wasn't even aware of and gave me some recommendations for my concerns. I will definitely be back! read more

I bought a Groupon due to the good reviews here. However, what a letdown. A stressful day!! Firstly, they rescheduled my appointment today from 1130am to 11am due to their scheduling conflict which I was fine with it. I was looking forward to my one hour massage since I scheduled them. I can't find their location and trying to call them but I got a voice mail. Great!! Finally I managed to find it and was running 10minutes late. I walked in and still don't know whether I was in the right place as the sign said Wellness Center and not Lux. I apologized to the customer service that I was running late and it was 11.10am. She had me to fill in a form which was fine as I know all new customer need to do it. I filled up the form in a speed and handed to her and was expected to go in right away for my massage since I was already running late. However, she said please have a seat and will call you shortly. I waited for another 5 minutes and still not my turn. Then I told her that my parking meter expired at 12.17pm to be exact and she said I will be fine. My turn is next. Alright, "that next" was 40minutes later and yet she has not call me. WTH! I was pissed and walked to her that I can't wait any longer and I have another appointment to go and most importantly I don't want to get a parking violation ticket as it will expired at 12.17pm and there I was standing there talking to her at 1145am. I rescheduled my appointment to 01/31 and she apologized they were running very late for their service today. What was I thinking, rescheduled for the stress they caused me today. My brain must not be functioning well after waiting for so long for a massage. When I got home and still feel angry about myself for wasting the entire one hour plus. From the moment I walked out the door this morning to anticipate a relaxing massage, finding the place, parking and waiting. I should have just walked out after 30minutes. I demanded Groupon for a refund as I don't want to redeem it due to the first BAD EXPERIENCE I had with Lux. I would have give no star if there is an option. read more

This was one of the best massages I ever had! Everything was perfect - great music, nice lighting, and my massage therapist Aisha even asked how my mood was so she could select the right aromatherapy. I got the deep tissue, which was just the right combination of relaxing and uncomfortable. Prices are very reasonable, as well. Parking is somewhat difficult - I ended having to park about a block and a half or so away. Not really too bad. If you get there early enough I'm sure you can drive around and find a closer spot. I'll definitely be getting my next massage here! read more

I bought a Groupon for 3 60-min Swedish massages and had Michele on my first visit. The massage was one of the best I've ever had and Michele really picked up on where I was sore. I usually get 90-minute massages because I feel that I don't always get a lot out of a 60 minute massage, but I was completely relaxed by the time I left. Michele used a firm and vigorous approach to really get the most out of my hour. I will definitely be returning! read more

I had a bloomspot deal for this place so I'm glad I didn't pay the full price...still it was so bad, I wish I didn't waste my money. The guy was young and super nervous which made me uncomfortable. I'm going to have to disagree with all of the negative comments about this place. I've been here a few times and my massage appointments are always superb. I've only had massages with Heather so I can't speak for Tommy although I have met him and he's a cool dude. I too was extended the chiropractic package that they offer everyone because its an office policy that they have and I didn't pay for anything. It actually was just for my own information and it turns out I've got a couple mild issues. I will be returning! read more

I've been to Lux a few times now, and the massages from Heather continue to be good. I'm looking forward to my next one next week. It is not a spa, so if you want to pay for a spa experience, this is not your place. However, the massage is very good. There is street parking and public parking across the street in Hermann Parking lot. You get a nice walk through the garden as a bonus :-) read more

The location is not ideal because you have to walk into an office building. The office building means there is too much lighting in the massage room. My appointment was at 5 and the gentleman didn't get me until after 5:15. I saw him let another client out just before and he must have rushed in to change the sheets (hopefully) and came back looking frazzled but without an apology for his lateness. He then left me in the room for 10 minutes to change, which meant my massage didn't start until 30 mins after my appointment time. The massage only ended 8 mins late, so I missed 22 mins of my massage....a great percentage of a 60 min massage. He never massaged my legs. Honestly I think he was confused because I was pregnant but I was assured when I called ahead of time that it was fine. The only thing more disappointing than the missing time was the mediocre massage. read more

I've had two massages from Lux Bodyworks and both have been fantastic! Both therapists applied the requested pressure and went for the full hour. The entire office is professional and will try their best to find you an appointment if you really need to get in to see someone. The prices are very reasonable, especially if you are patient of CST Wellness (chiropractic)....I get very frequent massages and I can't wait to visit them again. read more
