This is the second time I've come to see Talya! She did my first hair cut here in Texas after moving from Florida (where you can sneeze and find a curly hair stylist). I had a harder time finding one in DFW that I could trust. After doing a lot of research I took my chance with Talya and it's been history ever since. She brought my hair from dark back to light and I was so so so so happy. My hair looks so healthy and bright, i was so shocked because I didn't believe it could get the light so quickly! I thought it was a process! I had previously had blonde, then I did a ginger red, and then dark brown/black. I feel like my old happy self with this light hair and will not go back dark! My confidence boost is 100000 and Talya is who I recommend to any of my curl friends. You can see a lot of work on tik tok and Instagram as well. Talya herself is such a sweetheart. She's genuine, hilarious, and so relatable. I told my best friend that I wanted to be her friend outside of the chair. lol With curly hair, I expect to pay some $$$ so paying 300$ ish for a year of hair is worth it. I won't pull out my girl math calculator, but I won't ever have to pay this much for a touch up. Maybe I'll do a partial balayage and a trim next time im in! I was denied a paid consultation, the day before the appointment with no explanation or attempt to contact me to reschedule or discuss. Update: gave it a second chance and still disappointed. I went in for color with pictures to demonstrate what I wanted, and only got the haircut and style that I verbally described correct. I waited a few weeks to write this because of how disappointed I was. I really trusted the process and it felt like I wasted a whole day, since the earliest they had was in the middle of my day as they open so late. I wanted a combination of my two examples, showing color and pattern placement, and you can see my hair is still red-toned brown with highlights. Red fades the fastest, but this isn't even the thing I asked for. I came in after I was guaranteed the person I was rebooked with could do what I was asking for, and I was willing to put in however much time needed, but I didn't want my time wasted, and it still feels like it was. Not sure if it's a case of bait and switch but price seems to increase with each visit. It's like it's a mystery and you are profiled by how much you might be willing to pay. There is always back and forth whispering at check out over what you will be charged not to mention the back and forth looks between the receptionist and salon specialist. Rachel is fantastic. Very knowledgeable and she works with people who have a lot more hair. My hair is very fine, but there is A LOT of it and she thinned it out with layers beautifully. She also worked some great magic with the color, toning and blending so I can make less visits and have less maintenance (I recently got laid off). The salon is very fancy, and they have free drinks like water, coffee, soda, and wine that the friendly staff offers you when you come in. Lee is a magician with hair! I had a bad cut that he completely resurrected. I haven't felt this good about my hair in ages. I work full time and have three little ones but they were great with scheduling (even around an ice storm!) and made me feel welcome and cared about. I went from feeling awful about my hair to grinning ear to ear in just a cut. This salon itself is gorgeous and everyone there is so nice and helpful. Update: Lee invited me back. He listened to me and really cared about my experience. He had Mike work on my color and cut. Mike corrected the balayage, which turned out to be stunning. The haircut had an overall beautiful shape, with very natural-looking layers and light ends, and a nice end shape that preserved the length as much as possible. I was so happy I almost cried when I saw it. I have waited so long to be able to do my hair after my first trimester and this cut and color definitely exceeded my expectations. So I recently moved from Miami over to the Dallas area and came across this salon. I get very nervous with trying a new hair stylist because of the fact that I number 1. I have a ton of hair and number 2. I have thick curly hair and normally my hair isn't blow dried properly and I end up with frizzy roots. They completely turned my outlook + hair around. My stylist Kyleigh was amazing and faced a lot of fixing and made it better than I could ever have imagined after walking into the salon with a mess.
