Well.. believe the negative reviews about being over charged. I scheduled an appointment with Kara who did a phenomenal job on my hair so this review isn't about her. I called to make the appointment and was quoted $75 for hair cut and $65 for root touch up. Everything went well til I paid the bill. I ended up getting a root touch up and a partial but was charged $24 for toner and $12 extra for additional color? Not sure how you could charge me for additional color when the only color applied was to my roots. If you are going to make these additional charges you should inform your clients or you'll end up with negative reviews and word of mouth. I live in this town and will make sure everyone knows of this shoddy business. Listen, I can afford the charges so I didn't complain but you betcha I will complain to everyone. Fried hair under the hairdryer while stylist was busy cutting another customer's hair. All of this for the eye popping total of almost $500. Quite a sticker shock since prices aren't listed on the subpar website. Will not be coming back. Do not recommend. read more

Not a very pleasant experience, saw Jenny request we died my hair, she elected to tone it instead and after two weeks the color is already fading. Asked her to cut curtain bangs and I received the tiniest amount of bangs I've ever had cut. The shampooing experience was literally painful and I barely received a small towel to cover my clothes from getting wet. Long story short I paid $200 for my hair and now have to go to another salon 2 weeks later for it to be corrected. Apparently the managers name is Casey don't even bother with her she's beyond unprofessional and laughed at me and told me "good luck" when stating I had to get scalp injections for my alopecia. OMG! I will NEVER EVER EVER go here again! Treated poorly is an understatement! The person who was supposed to cut my hair called out sick! Ok so they stated I'd be in good hands for was just to be their Spring special $99 cut and color! No biggie! I e been here a few times in the past and figured I'd get it done since it's an incredible price! Wrong! Got a Perón who literally screwed everything about my cut and color up! My hair color was all over my face, she ADDED a conditioning treatment without my permission and it made my already super fine hair greasy, to the point it looked like my hair was 10 days over due for a wash! It was awful! Water running into my ears, down my blouse and sides! It was a blood bath! Prior to this she left me at the processing window for about 40-45 minutes completely forgot about me! Next after the rinsing and oily residue situation she begins to blow dry my hair! I'm thinking she must have forgotten to cut my hair being she's already done such an awful job! I ask her why she's drying my Jaír without cutting it and I also tell her my hair is oily and looks gross! She literally was going to begin trying to style my awful, greasy hair probably in hopes I would pay my bill and leave! Wrong again! By this time I'm so upset I literally asked her stop and she says you're so right I'm so happy you said something! WTF? Because I don't want the other stylists to think I did something wrong uhm WTF are you serious? I'm about 2 minutes from freaking out! She says ok let's go rewash your hair! Omg so all dumb treatment she put on was literally for nothing! Anyway I'm livid, late to pick up my daughter and so disappointed! She begins cutting my hair! Which felt all wrong and it was! She left one side longer than the other as you can clearly see! Then I get to the counter to pay and they over charge me! It was supposed to be $99 plus that dumb hair treatment that I NEVER agreed too! Overcharged and upset I left because I was so mad and late for an engagement but I figured I'd let the lady at coiner know I'd be calling to get all this fixed! So I proceeded to do so! The owner Lori finally gets back to me after I left her an email! I had to call her but either way she tells me she's going to make this right! Sets me up an appointment with another stylists that's apparently better I had her once before and she's NOT great but at least Can cut hair! I agree for the upcoming Saturday at 11am! Saturday comes and I'm on my way around 10:30 am to the salon again I get a call from the snotty receptionist they have there that the stylist WILL NOT be available until 1pm! WTF! They waited until I was on my way to let me know this! So I told her to forget it! I'm done! Texted the owner just to give me my overcharged refund and ILL NEVER set foot in this pathetic place again! I had Karli and she was super sweet and very welcoming. She did exactly what I wanted and we had a really good conversation, hence the name of the salon, had a little "thairapie" session. Beautiful salon with friendly staff. I found this salon because my previous stylist, Melanie, had recently moved there from another salon and I'm so glad she did! It's even nicer than the pics on their website - lots of natural light, stylish decor, and a cool balcony. They offered me a nice selection of beverages so I went with champagne because why not?!? I hadn't had my highlights done since mid-February so was able to see my natural color for the first time in decades lol. I actually liked it so Melanie blended it in perfectly, keeping my natural color with fewer highlights. I loved the result! The prices are comparable with salons in the area but the atmosphere and service is a cut above. So happy I found this place and highly recommend it. read more

I was scheduled with the owner to color my hair. She was sick so she put me with Morgan. I just wanted my grey covered and a few highlights. I told her I didn't want a toner since it was extra. 4 hours later and after trying to fix the mess with 3 different colors I left with greenish grey hair. First time I came here for cut and highlights, my highlights were great but but haircut was awful. I asked her to trim my curtain bangs and add long layers. I ended up with a mullet. I needed my hair highlighted again and decided I would book again just for gray coverage at roots and highlights. The color again was beautiful but the sticker shock got me this time. As you have to book your "services" with separate people, the person who colored my hair did not rinse it out or blow dry it. Apparently, if you want the color actually rinsed from your hair, it is NOT included in the price to color/highlight it. That is an additional ~$50. If you want it dried, not styled, just dried, another ~$50. (There might also be a requirement to book a service to have the dye removed from around your hairline/face because they allowed me to leave the salon like this.) The price was not disclosed to me until I reached the counter to pay. So what I normally pay for cut, color and highlights including having the color washed out of my hair at some point, toner when needed and dried with styling is around $250 with tip. For color and highlights today, without tip, was almost $400!!!! Was hoping to find a new regular salon after my previous amazing stylist moved, but it won't be here. read more

Was looking forward to get my haircut ( had very good service provide in the past ) but couldn't believe my eyes when I got in . 2 receptionists, 3 hairstylist and 2 customers were not wearing masks . Not even halfway , not even down the nose , nothing . Hairstylists floating around the store maskless and smiling, like the world hasn't been in this for almost a year Given nature of service provided not being 6 feet apart is understandable and even greater care should be expected .. When asked for explanation, got laughs at my face by the receptionist, looking at me like I was the idiot , as they ' don't force people to wear masks' . Again you can believe or not in masks , that's a personal choice, but what's not a choice is respecting the law , and clearly they can't care less Hopefully Health Department will shut them down soon read more

I made an appointment here several weeks in advance over the phone, excited to have found a place that offered a special for color, haircut, and style for $99! During my phone call to book the appointment, I spoke to the receptionist to confirm that I wanted a trim and highlights. I also verified *three* times that the price was $99, as I am currently in law school and would not be able to afford a more expensive salon experience. The receptionist reassured me I was all set and my appointment was booked. When I arrived for my appointment, everything went super well. I met Tori, the stylist who was listed on my email confirmation for the $99 special. We went over what I wanted and she did an incredible job, I was super impressed. She honestly did a 5 star job and this review is not a reflection of her skill, it's a reflection on the salon scamming customers by evading transparency in pricing. When I was finished I went to check out, expecting to see a bill of $99, as discussed ad nauseam. The receptionist gave me a bill of $220 pre-tip. I was astounded and asked about the $99 special. She looked annoyed and went to speak to my stylist. She then informed me that the stylist who did my hair was not one of the stylists who was listed for the $99 special, and furthermore the $99 special was for all over color. I showed her the email I had received which actually specified that there was a special for a cut, highlights and styling for $139, and I told her that I may have been mistaken but had told the receptionist I spoke to when I booked my appointment that I wanted highlights and was told the price would be $99. I asked if it was possible to adjust the price to that $139 highlight special, as it was advertised. The receptionist told me no because the stylist had used a toner on my hair that couldn't be refunded. Excuse me?? I called to make this appointment specifically for this low cost special, and they listed the low price on my appointment confirmation alongside this stylist. It seemed like an internal mistake to have booked a stylist who wasn't participating in the special and I was punished for their mistake by paying the bill. It was upsetting and seemed nonsensical; wouldn't they have used a toner regardless? So even if they had charged me the special would they have tacked on an additional fee for toner which is necessary when highlighting or coloring hair? They did not inform me at all of the breakdown of costs and they were not apologetic when I informed them of their deceptive pricing. Their misleading prices forced me into a difficult spot financially which was incredibly frustrating, especially as this took place around the holidays. The hairstylist's work was fantastic, but the pricing and customer service was so poor I would rather cut my own hair than return here again. Would not recommend unless you have cash to burn and you don't care about business transparency. read more

I'm so bummed. I give 5 stars for the actual work done by Monica, but 1 star for how much I feel scammed by the salon. I went into this appointment thinking it would cost about $160 without tip and I ended up being charged $220 without tip. I went in for all over highlights which I thought would be about $115 and a trim which I thought would be $45... these numbers based on the information I saw on their website. I was charged $125 for all over highlight, which was fine. I was then charged $40 for toner, which they refer to as a gloss on their website. If it would have been referred to as toner online I would've known what they were talking about- instead I thought the toner came with the hair color or else I would've asked to skip that step (wasn't given the option of not being toned- but again thought the toner would be included when she was toning). I was then charged $57 for a TRIM... Nooooo. On Instagram they also state that first time clients receive $25 off their first appointment...BUT BEWARE because this doesn't apply to every stylist. I now wish I would've asked more questions before deciding to book here. Unfortunately I will not be coming back because I just can't afford to spend that much on my hair every time. Haircut was great! Felt mislead and pressured. I made an appt over the phone for my 14 year old to get a haircut and we talked about wearing masks and precautions. When we showed up, no one was wearing a mask and we noticed no precautions like any other salons seemed to be taking. Now, that's fine if they make that choice but I would have liked to have known this before I am sitting in the lobby with my kid. I was asked if I wanted the stylist to wear a mask and I said yes. The stylist complained a bit that it was uncomfortable (which I get! So was mine). It just felt weird to me. Again, the haircut was great. And yes, I made the choice to stay. I would have been a new client with Thairapie, and called to make an appointment 2 weeks ago for this past Wednesday 4/27 at 4pm. During my initial call I was very detailed with what I was looking for - cut, layering, color, etc. as well as noted that I have extremely long hair. All my previous appointments elsewhere typically take anywhere from 2-4 hours, so I expected to be in the chair for a good chunk of time. I was told it was not an issue and that Zoey was extremely highly recommended, so I booked with her. Unfortunately, I was texted the day before my appointment that Zoey was taking a leave of absence. I totally get this, however, I was unsure about booking with someone else. The salon rep who texted me was confident that another stylist could take care of me and also offered me 20% off my services, so I rebooked with another stylist (they actually scheduled me with 1 person for color and another for cut, but did NOT tell me this). The following day (day of my appt), I was contacted 3 hours before my appointment and told that based on the start time, there would not be enough time to complete my services. They asked me to either come in earlier or reschedule - I was very honest in saying that this was all very off-putting and disrespectful of my time, especially for a working mom like me who only treats herself to a hair appt 1-2 times a year. The rep was extremely defensive when I said this but still tried to convince me to come in earlier which I was unable to do (even if I wanted to). When I said no and that it would be best for me to find another salon, I was immediately hung up on. Overall, very poor customer service and business practices. read more
