The girl who did my pedicure didn't talk much and it was honestly not a good vibe. When she asked if I wanted my toenails trimmed, I said, "mmmm yeah sure. Just trim my big toes, the other toes are fine." (I had already trimmed and shaped them to my liking prior to coming, but I thought the big toes could still go a little shorter). She proceeded to cut all my toenails and cut my big toes down to nubs. I like a little bit of length in my toenails, nothing crazy, but nubs? Bruh. It was too late when I acknowledged it. I honestly was holding back and trying to let her cook, but it wasn't giving what I asked for... I told her she completely ignored me and what I just said lol and they offered to have me pay for the basic pedicure instead of the gel pedicure, which is something I guess. Honestly, the whole pedicure was NOT a relaxing experience. The water was super hot and when she rubbed the scrub soap on my legs, it was scratchy and painful. Then they do that thing where they beat the crap out of your legs. I'm anemic. 100% chance I'm bruising. As for the acrylic set, I am disappointed in how many of these places DON'T PRIORITIZE NAIL HEALTH! In the big 2026?? My nails are already thin. The man who did my nails used the nail drill to "buff the surface" which thinned them even more. The acrylic burned like hellll (which happens when your nails are too thin, the acrylic is too thick, or both.) Also, just look at the pictures of how the back of my nails looked when I left... you guys... be so forreal (P.S. I'm not including a pic of my pedicure ya freaks)

That being said, I had to drive the distance so Natalie could do my wedding nails today. Absolutely love them and they turned out better than expected. Another thing I like about Nikki's is the atmosphere. They only take appointments post Covid and it is just them two now; so no waits and no loud, over stimulating crowds to yell over to communicate with your stylist. This was a pretty big change but the staff here made sure that I was comfortable and excited for it each step of the way from my consult to the days after my appointment! My consult was the most comfortable one I've ever experienced; all of my questions were answered completely honestly (telling me how the color might affect my skin tone, how important the upkeep would be, how much that upkeep might cost-things other salons don't always want to tell you) and made me feel no pressured or discomfort in any way. The super sweet guy who spoke to me through my appointment explained that the salon doesn't run on commission and assured me that I would be very well taken care of in the hands of a newer employee named Shayna, and that this option would be more in my price range as opposed to seeing him, a master stylist. However, all of the newer stylists are supported by more senior stylists to make sure everything goes smoothly. A few days later I went back in to ask if I would be able to take a picture of the color swatch I was planning to go with as I was getting nervous about my upcoming appointment. The owner of the salon who happened to be up front sat with me and talked me through everything and gave me even more suggestions to make me more comfortable. It was so so sweet and all of the help leading up to the appointment made me nothing but excited to make the change! During my appointment with Shayna I was the most comfortable I have ever been during a hair appointment. She talked me thorough everything again, listened very carefully to everything I wanted and all of my questions and, most importantly, she freaking nailed it. I am obsessed with my new hair. The color is perfect despite it being a more challenging color, the cut is THE BEST CUT I HAVE EVER RECEIVED. PERIOD. As if all of this wasn't enough, I woke up a few days later to a voicemail from Shayna checking in, asking how I was feeling and if I had any questions about everything we changed. I was so impressed and grateful. The service at this salon is unmatched. Final note that's very important: the salon and employees had by far the best Covid-19 procedures I've seen in any business yet. When you enter employees touch the door handles and everything else so multiple people aren't touching, a mask is required during every point in your appointment. There is hand sanitizer at the door, you have to use it, they take your temperature, the whole thing. My color is bright and even, and she really listened to what I wanted. She also has a fantastic personality and is easy to chat with while she works. Jade cut my hair and before she began we talked about what I wanted and I showed her a couple of pictures of what I had in mind. She also did exactly what I wanted, and it looks great! I have had many experiences with stylists ignoring what I've asked for and just doing whatever they felt like and then I end up having to go and get it corrected. Not here! They took their time and did everything just right! This will be my go-to salon from now on. I couldn't be happier!
