After treating my excessively pale complexion for many years for actinic keratoses and rosacea, last year he looked at a suspicious facial growth, biopsied it, & removed a cancerous growth. (To make sure, he took out a lot of skin.) I was worried there would be a deep crater scar but am happy to say that a year later it's healed over and you'd never know it was there. He has a old-fashioned positive manner, acts "human" not aloof, and listens closely and carefully. That's very important to me. Several months ago Dr Milstein closed out his affiliation with Family Dermatology and moved to a building very nearby, a few steps away. Evidently the office space was too small. Now he and a partner, Dr Batta, are back in the same former offices, 525 Jamestown, 2nd floor--but they aren't back with Family Derm, which has moved elsewhere. The first move must have been abrupt, since I had an appointment just after they moved and someone from his office phoned me with the new address. In fact, one of the office staff has always phoned to remind me of an appointment. I don't know what happened to the person who wasn't notified, unless she doesn't have an answer phone. When I made my last appointment (for yesterday) I was carefully advised that they had leased the former office spaces after Family Derm moved out. The entire building has been re-furbished, spaces enlarged, and is very nice. Yes, the waits are long, occasionally 45 minutes to 1 hour, but Dr Milstein takes emergency patients (Roxborough Hosp is across the street) and an obviously very ill man was brought in on a gurney while I was waiting to go in yesterday and spent about half an hour in the treatment area. Maybe that helps explain some of the delays. Sometimes my primary care physician is delayed, too, by emergency patients.
