The other night I'm at home winding down after dinner and playing with my son. Most our curtains were closed but one was just a privacy screen. We noticed a light shining in to our window. Then it shifted to shine through other windows and front door glass. I look outside to see a person with a flash light. Walking back toward a purolator truck cutting across our lawn. No package was delivered to our place. I understand a delivery person needs to see an address. Or possibly to see their footing as they walk across our yard. But shining a lights through our windows was highly suspicious and completely violating. read more

Shameful work ethic for many of their drivers. I've read reviews where the driver wouldn't even wait 3 minutes for the recipient to come to the front door of the apartment building; he just left a parcel card and drove away. Other reviews report that drivers won't take the time to buzz the recipient unless the buzz code is spoon-fed to them. The latter was my recent experience: he came to deliver my parcel but refused to search my surname on my apartment building's enterfone system. I am not listed as OCCUPIED, my name is in full view - if you bother to push the button and scroll down one page. I WAS HOME to receive the parcel but instead, this driver left me a card on which he'd written, "Please use your buzzer number in your address next time." When I tried to pick up the parcel the following business day, it had been returned to sender for "incorrect address". What the...? Are you kidding me? I contacted the company to complain but it was too late. While looking for their phone number, I came across 200+ Google reviews and the vast majority are negative. I wrote a formal complaint to their head office, saying that Purolator was an A-1 company for deliveries in years past. Lately, though, they've been in a free fall to the bottom of the pack and their reputation is ruined, thanks to the abysmal service of their drivers. I also wrote to Amazon to tell them never to ship anything to me via Purolator again. If another delivery is returned to sender, I will simply cancel the order and Amazon will have to eat the wasted shipping expense. I don't know how well Purolator does as a shipping company for out-bound parcels, but I will never use them again for inbound shipments. read more

After calling clearly contacts and explaining, waiting on hold for 30 minutes they negotiated with purolator to redeliver the following Tuesday between 8-8. Took the day off work and waited and waited. Nothing of course! No attempted delivery, no notice. Log in online to see a notice that apparently they have flagged our package as having the wrong address!!! At this point I am so angry. The address is absolutely correct. And if they were having trouble why don't they just call? They have our cell number and every other delivery company does that when there is an issue. Do whatever you can to avoid this shipping company. They will not leave you delivery notices. At all. I had two parcels that were being shipped at about the same time, and I did not receive notice for either one. The only way I knew that they even arrived was by getting a phone call that they were waiting for me to be picked up because they had "failed to deliver" the packages. They really didn't try too hard to begin with! This location is out in the middle of nowhere for both me and my husband, and without a car, it isn't just a simple walk down the block like it is with Canada Post. At the time we went, it took us an hour ONE WAY to get there because of bus schedules. I was trying so hard to avoid using this service ever again, but a company shipping a replacement part for me used it without letting me know they were going to use it... ugh. Terrible service. Did not leave a card and blames the customers. Makes no apology. I was at home the whole time they "Attempted" delivery and failed. I've received parcels from them twice now, their depot is not close to public transport so it is very annoying if they do not deliver or if you are not at home. Problem is, they don't leave pick up cards, so I didn't know the driver had left already so I was waiting in the lobby for an hour until the end of the delivery hours as this was advised by the tracking website. I only found out they had already gone after checking the tracking website at the very end of the day after having already waited. Then I called to reschedule but unlike most postals services, Purolator does redeliveries not one, but two days after a missed delivery. The call was worse, the customer service representative was rude and made no apology for the frustration, not even empathetic and gave off a sense of "It's your own fault, customer". That was the first package. The second time, the seller I bought from forgot to put the Unit number on and I found out via the tracking website on the day the delivery was on the truck. So I spent the morning calling the seller, to call Purolator to update the address, which took all morning - causing me to skip breakfast and spend hours trying to correct this. But the main issue is, once again, the call support staff was rude - when you want to express how you feel about the delay and complications, good customer service - even if the courier has done everything right and the customer is wrong, they would still apologise out of empathy. At purolator, they condescend and their priority is not caring for the customer but showing their hands clean by going into defensive mode and telling the customer how its the customer's fault. Pros: -If you live in an apartment, they will actually push the buzzer and will deliver right at your door. Upon calling the customer service / AR Dept. we were informed that Purolator does not ship to the US it is in fact UPS that does the shipment. I wouldn't have given them even a single star if there was such an option. I ordered a dress from Hudson Bay that was expected to be delivered within 10 days at maximum. Now, it's been 18 days already from today, the event I bought the dress for is this Sunday. At first the message said "Delayed due to missed delivery", now it says "Address correction required - no entry code - Contact us". I checked the address I provided - it is correct. I tried to contact them - no agents available on the phone or live chat. The worst service ever. Update: When I finally was able to reach them by phone, they said the address was incomplete - no buzzer code. Honestly??? The buzzer code is the apartment number. This is ridiculous. We agreed that I would come to their location to pick up myself because I couldn't lose time. It's been three days after that, the message on the website still says incomplete/incorrect address, when I called the third time (as usually I had to spend about 25 min waiting on the phone before somebody answered) they said they couldn't find where my order was and would give me a call later. Apparently they don't leave anything to notify you that delivery attempt was made. Since I live in an apartment I suppose it would be too much to ask for a delivery driver to ring my buzzer. I have no complaints about this specific location. It is just where I picked my package up from. On the 19th of August 2013, the driver delivering to the Metrotown area was supposed to come after 4pm, but never showed up. I waited and waited. Then I checked the tracking info online and it posted that he attempted to deliver it at 5pm, which is a complete lie because I was home all afternoon. Now I have to go and pick it up in person. Drivers have to be held accountable, otherwise all that tracking technology isn't worth a damn. I really don't know what Purolator is running here. read more

I was pretty bummed when I found out my package was available for pick up at Market Crossing since a) it's not transit friendly, and b) they're only open Mon - Fri. But here's a useful tip: You can go to Purolator's site and speak with an agent through Live Chat to arrange a different pick-up location, like downtown, Surrey, Vancouver, etc. It was pretty quick and painless. Most other locations are open on the weekends too. Make sure you check their operation hours. And maybe I was just lucky, but I did get a paper notice that my package was available for pick-up, and Purolator called me the day after to let me know I could get my package. My experience with Purolator (I've had four, five packages delivered by them thus far?) has been decent, but I live in a house, not an apartment. read more

We ordered from a supplier last week. It was a big order for a great client. July 6th, 2016 was the order date. It is now 3:00 PM on Monday, July 11, 2016. We still have not received our order. I have now been on hold to Purolator for 58:22 min. They still have not answered. When I tracked the package on Friday, July 8, 2016 it stated it was on the vehicle for delivery as of 8:24 am. Today it stated that delivery had been "delayed due to missed delivery". Again it states that it is on a vehicle slated for delivery as of 7:22 am this morning. Apparently Purolator is in a panic because of the potential Canada Post strike that so far has not happened. I just hung up after 1 hour and 6 minutes of being on hold. Still no delivery. I would give this company a 0 star out of 5 if I could. Out of the 5 or so times I have had shipment handled by Purolator, I have never had them ever actually deliver me a package. Each and every time I was forced to pick up my packages at their warehouses in the middle of no where. Case in point for my latest delivery. a delivery notice was crammed in my mail box outside my house despite my grandparents being outside working in the garden, and my mom watching TV in the living room which is visible from outside of the house. No attempt what so ever was made to knock on the door, ring the door bell, or give the contact number a call. Despite all that, the status ironically says no receiver was available. I'm sorry, what better conditions should I be providing the courier? Should I have been outside my house eagerly waiting for the delivery man? The point of a courier service is to deliver packages to the recipient. Based on my interactions with Purolator, they have failed this service in spades. Drive for 30 minutes to a very inconvenience location and then drive back, and they say- sorry, even thought your paper said "pick it up tomorrow" we dont have your package, for some reason it was not sent to us from the warehouse and we dont know why, or when will it be here, and the managers dont know anything, and customer service has 30 min wait on the phone, and they wont be able to help you either. We received a phone call advising that our delivery could be expected on September 8th between 8 am and 6 pm, and that someone HAD to be home to sign for and accept delivery. We were up at 7 am and both stayed home until 7 pm - no delivery and no call to advise otherwise. What a waste of our entire day! I too live in a condo. My name is clearly listed on the enterphone and I had even included the code on the address label. The driver left a note saying he had tried to contact me at 3. I was at home by the phone all afternoon. I found out that he had left a notice because Canada post called me to say I had a parcel and when I went down to get it ... at 5 to 3 the Purolator notice was hanging on the box. My order was shipped in 2 parts and I have only 1 so today I try to fine the first box shipped. The people at the storefront are helpful but the delivery people need a wake up call. read more

This company has more liars working for it than any other company I've ever done business with. I stayed home all day yesterday waiting for a parcel which the tracking information said was supposed to be delivered. No one attempted to deliver it, but this morning I received an automated call from Purolator telling me to go and pick up the parcel at one of their locations which is not near my home. When I reported this to the sender of the parcel they said that it was supposed to be delivered directly to my home, and the only explanation they had was that Purolator attempted delivery and I wasn't home (not true). This is not the first time that Purolator has done this; I've had many occasions in the past when I had no control over which courier service to use (because the sender controlled that) and got the same lies and runaround. I think their couriers must spend most of their day at the local bar just goofing off, and then claim that they tried to deliver the parcels and couldn't. To be avoided at all costs and should be reported to the sender if this happens to you. Otherwise the sender will never know that they aren't getting the service they're paying for. read more
