I have been here multiple times and every time it has been amazing. The instructors took their time teaching and you never felt rushed. THIS REVIEW IS SOLELY FOR THE INSTRUCTOR, DANA. Dana was our instructor for today's painting and she was absolutely terrible. She may be a good painter, but a terrible teacher. During the entire class she rushed through every step. Almost everyone was several steps behind but she did not take any time to see where every was at. I felt as though I was freelancing, not taking a class. The class was suppose to be 90 minutes but she finished it in a little over an hour. She then quickly left the classroom without helping the students finish. I love going to Purple Easel but I was very disappointed in today's instructor. read more

We had a great time here! Last minute purchase on Valentine's Day and I was only able to purchase one ticket (the last ticket) for the painting we wanted to do. I ended up purchasing a ticket for my fiancé for the other paintinf so I had to scramble last minute to contact them after hours to see if we can both paint in the same room. I wasn't able to reach them over the phone or yelp because it was after hours (and 2 hours before the event!). We drove there about an hour before the event to explain the situation. They were all very friendly, understanding, and accommodating. They were gladly able to set up an extra chair at the end of the table for us. I had no problems when dealing with the staff and was very grateful for their help. Thank you for saving my Valentines Day!!! read more

I've been to 2 Paint Your Pet nights there and love it! Everyone there are so nice and helpful. The instructors are great! The last time I was there I brought my daughter daughter because she wanted to paint her dad's dog as s surprise Father's Day gift. Sadly, before she had a chance to give it to him, she fell while holding the painting and damaged it. My friend called them and they offered to either fix and reframe it or let me daughter repaint it (how nice is that!). We opted to have them fix it and they did and were so nice about it! I visited for the first time last night and let me tell you we had a blast. The instructor Andy was so fun, and silly. I've been to other paint and sip locations but this spot has a WAY better studio, the building is huge (has 2 rooms), and the rest of the staff is so friendly and helpful. The only thing is that the room was a little crowded, so I'm glad we got seats in the corner. read more

We had such a great time , I Really feel so bad that I don't remember our instructors name she so nice and funny and just good vibes all around ! It was on a Wednesday night. The class was about 3hrs long I brought some wine for me and my sister really had a good time painting and enjoying some wine . What's really Kool is they took their time with us we didn't feel rush and if we got stuck on something we had another woman instructor walking around to assist for those who needed more time .you can bring your own snacks and beverages from the outside. Wear something comfy and a shirt you really don't mind if you get a little dirty I didn't really pay to much attention on the shirt I was wearing until I put on the apron and was super scared to get it dirty lol . I just went there to pick up supplies for myself and friend. The guy with tattoo and a kid were at front desk. He told me that my friend did not purchase brushes even though I told him that I have a copy of receipt. He initially told me that he can not give it to me. I told him that I am not going to pay for something that my friend already paid for and I have proof. Then he said "never mind I just give it to you." Since I did not purchase brush set for myself, I told him I am going to purchase. He initially said its $10 but then he said its $15. I confronted him that he initially said $10. He said that he got in trouble because he sold brush for $10. Then he was getting frustrated. He said " I should not be here." I showed a copy of my friend receipt which indicates brush is $13. Then he said " ok I can give it to you for $13 then. " what's wrong with this place? I am sure he did not want to work because of COViD19 but this place cannot hire a better employee? I never recommend this place to anyone. read more

I had a blast! This was our book clubs first outing of 2018. Seven in our group, few had done this before, but the newbee's like me never felt lost. It a lively place, the music was pumping and lots of laughter. You got the feeling people came to have a good time. The instructor was easy to follow, and the helpers were amazing . Paid $200 for my family to attend a 2 hour class to celebrate my niece's birthday. The brushes were dirty and stiff, the teacher was nice and informative but it was very difficult for us first timers to keep up. We brought some wine and had no time to drink it, the people who do bring wine and snacks must be professionals who can keep up. The stools were harsh on the backs of my older family members, and it was uncomfortably hot in the studio. For it being $30 a seat, you'd think they would at least turn the air conditioning on for you. read more

I planned my daughter's 7th birthday party here and it was a great experience. I had 10 girls in all and chose the Enchanted Rose painting. The girls did need help from parents as they were nervous about painting and making mistakes. The instructor was kind and patient with the kiddos and let them take a small break in between painting the background and then the foreground so the girls could enjoy pizza and snacks. I had time at the end to clean up, sing Happy Birthday, eat cupcakes and open presents. My daughter also received a frame for her painting since she was the birthday girl. All the girls had a great time and my daughter said she would like to go back next year for her birthday. Pros: friendly staff, clean environment, accommodating to party theme and food/drink, well organized. Con: very difficult to get a hold of someone on the phone. Just keep calling! =) read more

I have been to other Paint events at restaurant venues & thoroughly enjoyed them, so I decided to book this one for a group of six ladies. I was SO DISAPPOINTED with the whole experience! To begin with, the seating was very uncomfortable (metal stools with no padding, no backs & too high for the table). Secondly, the class was too long (3 hours) & moved too slowly. Next, the music was TOO LOUD for an art event. The brushes provided were old & very worn. Paint splatters ended up on purses, bags & phones...(maybe warn people to put personal belongings completely under the table). Just not the experience I was hoping for. Perfect for a date night! Well at least that's what I tried and did date night wasn't as successful as I wanted. My husband apparently isn't his best when he kept getting himself covered in paint. I got us tickets for the 3 hr painting. He lasted 1.30hr. But everyone was very friendly they had painters walking around if we needed help. The instructor was funny. Made a couple jokes. I felt so relaxed and painting in the environment made me miss this hobby I hadn't done in years!! Definitely coming back! read more

Was a little apprehensive since I have not attempted painting in decades, but from the moment we arrived I was put at ease by the friendly staff and casual atmosphere. We painted "Morning Pine" - our artist instructor took us step by step from how to mix the colors to what brushes to use. Once we started painting, I really got into it and the 2-hours went by so quickly (always an indicator that I am having a great time!). Can't recommend the Purple Easel more highly as a fun event for any occasion. read more

My daughter attended a party there today. The kids seemed to enjoy the overall experience. But as we were waiting for the kids to have cake, one of the employees came over and started removing the easels from the table and got paint on me. When I asked her for something to clean my foot and shoe, she looked absolutely annoyed. She denied getting the paint on me and when I tried explaining what happened, she walked away as I was still talking. Then a second employee got involved and was just as rude. This was Tiffany and Hailey. No customer service skills what so ever. I hope the owner Matthew appreciates that the two of them lost a booking for him. Love this place! What a fantastic way to spend an evening with your friends/husband...whoever! I can't even draw a stick figure, but somehow managed to pull off a Banksy picture...I mean, it's not perfect, but better than I ever imagined! We brought our own wine (make sure you bring your own glasses, corkscrew, etc.), had some laughs, painted a picture and were still home by 9:00. Perfect Saturday evening! What made it even better was we went for a fundraiser for Cystic Fibrosis, so a portion of the cost was donated to CFF. Couldn't ask for a better night! read more

We've been to Purple Easel twice now and both times were so much fun that my kids didn't want to leave! The artists go step by step and take the time to make sure everyone is caught up and ready to move on. They encourage the kids to be creative with their paintings and put their own special touch into their work. The staff goes out of the way to make sure your experience is the best. I had to cancel a reservation and they were great about it and told me that when I was ready to reschedule they would gladly handle everything. Today (Sunday) About my 4th time going and I love going to purple easel They are so on it with helpful staff but at times not the friendliness but I get it. MY issue is when a group has a party and takes over the whole experience for everyone there . The group was hollering and yelling like they were in a club instead of a calm paint studio. So no relaxing while painting at all today. Took a family member who had never been and I was embarrassed that I brought him we could barely hear the instructor and she had a microphone. During the shout outs it really disrupted the painting you were working on. Yelling up at the instructor ect shouting like they was at a street party. . Just not good. I had this same experience before when I brought someone a few months ago, thought it was just a one time thing until yep happen again today. Paying 60 bucks for someone else's party is not fun. I have been a couple times when it's not been like this and it's been a wonderful time. I notice that it's usually on Saturday's and or Sundays when it's happened. read more

It was a great experience all of the instructors were very informative and helpful..especially with someone who is not very artistic. The atmosphere was very upbeat and positive. This was my first painting class and let me say, it was so much fun! I came here with my mother in law and her co workers for ladies night. The fun part was that we are able to take our own snacks and wine. Ian was our instructor and he was great! He took the time to go step by step, had a lot of patience and even suggested to add our own creativity to our painting! We ended up painting Daisy's in a mason jar. My experience was amazing! Everyone is an artist at these paint night events! Basically you buy your tickets online and you are able to see what painting will be done on that specific day that you choose. Purple Easel is awesome because it's BYOB and snacks! I may or may not have had a whole bottle of wine during my 2 hour paint session LOL! This place is awesome. We went here with a group of about 12 people. We painted a diptych painting (1 person paints half and the other person paints the other half), which was a wine bottle and a wine glass. It can be frustrating at times during painting, there are instructors telling you what to do at every step and they are also walking around to help. Bring your own drinks and snacks! We brought wine and small snacks. Remember to wear clothes don't really care about, I did end up with paint on my jeans and it doesn't come out!!
