Went here 3 days ago so I'm surprised/confused to see the status of this location is "closed." The folks I talked to on the phone were kind, the front desk gal was also nice. But the wait times were very inaccurate. Said it would be 35-45 minutes to look at my piercing, not even getting a new one just a checkup. I waited over an hour and a half before I had to leave because I had an appointment to get to, which I had told them about upon my arrival. They only do walk-in's, which I understand, but that is the kind of wait I could expect anytime after 5pm, I was told. Additionally, two folks who came in after me were taken back before I was without explanation. The folks who came out while I was there looked to be pleased with their piercings. I didn't get to experience the service so I can't leave a review of what it would be like. The prices were great so I assume you pay in waiting time. If you can't handle strong smells, don't go. They have a whole section of incense right next to the waiting room and if you wait as long as I did, you will walk out smelling like it. They have a good selection of jewelry, glass accessories, and other trinkets. read more

I honestly had a super good experience piercing wise, I got a helix and the piercer was so nice and gentle. She got me everything I needed, talked me through it all and was great. People are saying the front staff is kind of standoff ish and I can see where they are coming from, one girl was super snarky while the other girl that I talked to was amazing. She was read headed and helped me pick everything and even helped me with a new earring for a piercing i didn't even get there. They were busy, so for her to take the time to talk with me and have a great one on one convo was great. I don't think they do appointments so we went in and there weren't that many people before us, but there was only one piercer. They said probably 1.5 hrs, we checked in again then they said 45 mins. 3 hours later we finally went back only because another piercer came in. I have a lot of patience but I just disliked the untruthful quotes on how long it would be. We stayed and hanged around thinking it wouldn't be too long but it ended up being 3 hours. It really is a shame because my piercing is all healed and looks great so quality wise it's a 5/5 but waiting and lack of communication took the stars down for me. I appreciate all of you workers and piercers for giving me a clean, beautiful piercing, but I hope a system can possibly be put in place to fix this problem. THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MY PIERCER!! Destiny was hands down so nice and professional. I came in for help reinserting a rook piercing, which I cannot do on my own. Upon walking in, the only thing I took it was all the passive-aggressive signage. I looked past it and talked to them about a piercing change. My inquiry was met with a flat tone and dismissive attitude. To follow up, I waited for over 45 minutes for a PIERCING change. And it wasn't like they're packed. It's a bit of a conundrum as I had a wonderful experience with the person who pierced me. She was genuinely friendly, down to earth, mature, knowledgeable, and very professional. She was just plain nice! It's the front counter staff who are awful! Especially the redheaded girl! One of them put on a seemingly friendly, smiling face, but even that was a facade. The redhead didn't even try to fake it. She was blatantly snarky. They're arrogant and condescending. Very unfriendly. You want to excuse them by assuming they're only doing what the owners require, and perhaps that does make that kind of behavior inevitable. I wonder if the redhead has ever worked anywhere before. Or if she's familiar with philosophy that the customer is always right. It's like they dare you to patronize the store. When you drive up, there are many rules posted on the outside of the store rendering the store front practically invisible. You can't possibly memorize them all! It's insulting and offensive. Almost like the owners hope to discourage you from coming inside. One sign instructs the customer to avoid something or other to do with their piercing, and the statement ends with, "It's nasty!", as if they're instructing a three year old. Another sign boasts, "We reserve the right to refuse business to anyone, anytime, for anything." Oh, that's reassuring. Then there's the wait time. It is absolutely ridiculous and inexcusable that they can't figure out how to cut down on the wait time. And there's no apology at all! But that's not even the worst of it; they LIE to you, telling you the wait time will be 30 or 45 minutes when they know very well that you'll be waiting 2 to 3 HOURS! And then they act like YOU'RE being rude and impatient when they are rude. Extremely rude! Besides all that, the location is terrible to start with. It sits right at a major three-way intersection with heavy traffic, making it harrowing to get into and out of. Once your heart slows down from making it into the parking lot alive and in tact, you've got just four or five parking spaces from which to choose. Which makes it good that they don't seem to do a lot of business. You'd think it would make them a little more grateful for your patronage. There are several other body piercing establishments in Greenville and very nearby, so thankfully, it won't be necessary for me to go back to Purple Haze. I've gone to Purple Haze twice now for piercings and I've had wonderful experiences both times. I got the Medusa and septum. The people that work here are sooo nice and always make me feel super comfortable. The shop is really dope and has a lot of cool stickers, books, and other goodies as well as ofc the beautiful jewelry. (The graphic tees are also awesome). It's a very unclean, dark, crowded, and chaotic environment. I got a piercing here and there was a room to go in but it was pointless. The piercer was completely distracted by another worker continually coming in and talking to her. I also had to wait 1 hour and it wasn't even that busy. It kind of smells like throw up, with all of the incense burning, and it gave me a head ache. Note that they are super busy on the weekend! Expect a several hour wait or go during the week. The store has everything - tie dye clothes, vapes, incense, candles , magic and piercing. My piercer, Blake, was exceptional. She throughly explained the piercing to me, took the time to answer all of my questions and was so gentle; she was done before I was even aware! The price was fair and honest. It was great to go to a female owned, run, and staffed businsss. You have to be a little patient but they are worth it! My daughter and I went to get piercings. We got in line about 10 minutes before they opened,which they opened late. Once inside the process is very unprofessional. They say you're not in line until you pay but they allowed 3 people to walk in and handed them papers to fill out the info before us. The wait was already going to be about 2 hours so those extra 3 ppl added another 2 hours. The lady with the red hair is extremely rude,unprofessional and racist. It took awhile for me to get assistance as there was only 1 girl up front helping customers and it was slightly busy. Once I did get help, it was a very easy process to get my nose pierced. Carrie did a great job at easing my anxiety beforehand and explaining how to care for my new piercing. Plus, the piercing itself was very easy: it barely hurt; it just made my eyes water a little. There wasn't much pain afterwards and 24 hours later, there's no pain at all and the redness went away. I definitely recommend getting the salt spray that they sell at the shop. As an older person, getting a piercing was a bit awkward. But the staff at Purple Haze only made me feel welcome and accepted. I have to be honest, the walk-in, first come first serve, felt a bit inconvenient. But I filled out the paperwork and paid for the service. About an hour later the manager (Kai ?) pulled me aside and told me the primary piercer wasn't able to make it in, she did everything in her power to make it right. We tried to see about coming in the next day, but I couldn't break away at all. It was settled that I would come in two days later. I got there at the agreed 3PM, the piercer was actively attending another customer. As soon as she finished, they got me right in to her. Carrie was EXCELLENT. Funny, informative, and wonderfully blunt. My kind of person. She was thorough in explanations and in going over after-care. Bottom line - it was right before Christmas, everything was hectic, and they still managed to be professional and VERY friendly. It was a far better experience than I expected. Carrie pierced my septum a year ago and I had no issues whatsoever with it. Didn't even hurt when I got it done. Brandi pierced my second lobes and I had no issues either, they healed very quickly. Today they had a $10 piercing sale because Carrie is training Nikki, the new apprentice. She pierced my forward helix under Carrie's guidance and so far no issues, she was very sweet and answered all of my questions. I had to wait almost an hour to get the piercings those 3 times. This place is sketchy as hell, I highly recommend going to Jim's Up In Smoke right across the street instead for piercings. I've been here several times and have never had a good experience. The long wait, unclean atmosphere, and questionable staff are the causes of these poor experiences. I've had one experience where I was getting an orbital pierced on my lobe and two conches switched from studs to a rings. While in the piercing room I was sat there for 45 minutes throughout the whole ordeal, the piercing lady must have been on drugs (meth or coke are my guesses) or something because she dropped the ball for my orbital at least 6 times trying to put it in, was acting extremely strange, and was running around the room frantically throwing things. After she finally got everything situated (45 min later) I left the piercing room to the glaring eyes of a long line of people that were waiting for piercings and I wish I could have warned them to run while they could. My friend came with me and as soon as we walked out of the building she said "you should never come here again" as she watched the whole ordeal - and I have never been here since. If you value your body and piercings avoid this place at all costs and go somewhere else. read more

Purple Haze has cemented itself as the only place I'll go to get a piercing done. Beyond that? eh, they're your standard head shop. There's nothing special or unique in their offerings, though the place on the whole is orderly and clean. The people I've had do my piercings there have been personable, very clean and orderly (making sure to go through the proper steps, to show you the new needles, tools, etc. they're using). They're very informative as well- even if you're a seasoned pro, as it were, they make sure to go over every bit of information you might need. The only complaint I may have is I feel like they should give people an estimate of time it might take until their turn- there's little seating in the shop and it gets old wandering around for 40+ minutes. read more

I love this place for all my piercing and jewelry wants! I've gotten my eyebrow, nose, tongue, cartridge, and double navel pierced here. Although I was very frustrated with my first navel piercing because the lady put in an eyebrow ring instead of belly button ring so with the screw on ball on top being smaller, it sunk into my skin. Luckily they replaced it. Their variety on jewelry is huge & they have good sales on top of that. I love this place! The inside is trippy. They're very professional and friendly. I did not get my piercing at the Greenville location, I got mine done at the Clemson location. But my experience was great. I got a lip piercing with my roommate and we were in and out of the Clemson location within 30 minutes. They were very helpful and super nice and informative. The piercer (I apologize to her personally for forgetting her name) was wonderful! She knew what she was doing and was very thorough in her job and willing to ask questions about your piercing and was super chill. She was very helpful with aftercare and was super nice about giving me a titanium lip ring due to my nickel allergy. Thank you so much Purple Haze in Clemson! Carrie is the best. She takes her time to acknowledge you. I had my breasts pierced February 2nd. I was a bag of nerves. I had to wait two hours. That kinda made the anxiety worse. Once I got in room Carrie knew what to do to calm me down. She is very professional. She did an excellent job. Did not hardly hurt at all. I had both breasts done. The woman who pierced my cartilage was really sweet and the material she used was brand new. I came in, however, on a day when there was a two hour wait. I had no problem with the wait itself, but when I finally got called in (after close) it felt as if I was being rushed out of there. I received no verbal instruction on how to treat my new piercing (just handed a confusing, non-specific paper). It's been a week and it still hurts. I do not know if that is normal or if I have even been cleaning it properly. Also, they do not ask you, or even show you, what earring you are getting. It looks like I have a tongue ring in my ear... and I can't change it out for 2 months.
