My critiques of the salon are, first, that there are many uncomfortable areas to sit in for pedicures. This should be fixed with the input of your customers. Also, I'm surprised that during the pandemic's forced shutdowns/slow-downs the bathroom on the main floor was not updated with better plumbing, but especially, faucets, so that one can wash up without touching them (or with hospital style lever faucets that permit operation with one's arm or elbow). Right now, though the soap and towel dispensers are touchless, the faucets (and light switch, for that matter) is not. I know the pandemic will be under control sooner than later, but this investment in hygiene will go a long way to a healthy staff and customers (fewer colds, flu etc.) and also update the bathroom space. Also some needle-work, just one session to help with some facial redness, mild rosacea at times, age spots and some spider veins around nose and chin. There has been a great improvement in all areas. The salon is small, not too small. With a relaxing lounge. Music in rooms is adjustable which matters to me. Decor is attractive, relaxing and tasteful. Treatments such as: IPL Lumecca for redness and sun damage/Fractora RF Needling (anti ageing)/Forma Skin-tightening and Bodyfx Treatments (for spot fat reduction) also offered. They sell the products they use, and much more: all reputable and worthy: creams, serums, etc. Zo by Zein Obagi for example. I also had a very interesting test done before hand. $75 and it gave a detailed description in pictures of my skin today. A good thing and, with expert help, I now know better how to improve and stop the rot! I'd had one done about 8 years' ago. The equipment has improved immeasurably since then and I was actually happy to see where things stood years' on. I'd certainly take Charmaine's advice on improvements that can be made relatively easily within a budget. I would trust her evaluation and any recommendations even though we've been together for a short of time. I know 10 out of 10 when I see it! I look forward every time to entering their door. So glad to have found them, tucked away, but downtown central in a lovely area in the inner harbour next to the Grand Pacific hotel. Making the appointment through Vagaro was easy, walked me through a thorough intake form, and allowed me to choose my esthetician. I went with Allegra who was a darling from the minute I stepped into Dermaspace. Any worries or fears quickly drifted off given the dim lighting, chill music and zen ambiance. Allegra had a sweet personality, explained the entire process from start to finish, was knowledgeable about anything related to skincare and health, and most importantly, gentle. The facial was around an hour and fifteen minutes, including a discussion of my skin concerns, allergies, goals, etc. It consisted of roughly four total steps: 1) Gentle facial cleansing and exfoliation 2) Moisturization and detoxification using yucca soaked cloth within a volcanic heated cone 3) Deep cleaning of my entire face, clearing out any and all clogged pores 4) Ionization facial wrap of nourishing cotton with a leather mask connected to low voltage electrical current in order to ionize the solution. Afterwards, my face felt completely refreshed and as if years were taken off.
