It's unfortunate that we did not have a good experience here. We used to frequent this place more often, but not as much now as it seems to be getting more and more rundown and the smoke from the outdoor patio drifts in. I emailed the manager immediately upon leaving but never got a reply. They did greet us fairly properly but it went down hill from there. The order was incorrect, the food was meh at best and the bill was wrong. After dropping off the food we never saw the server again. He said he had gotten busy but we could see from our table that he was chatting with friends and watching TV. After we questioned the bill he insisted it was correct and there was nothing he could do. I wish I had asked for a manager at the time, but it was already 7:30 on a Sunday night so we paid the bill and left. We did ask for a detailed receipt but the receipt was not very detailed. $46.00 for a beer and 2 burgers seem out of line, especially when one of the burgers was not edible. I guess it's bad us for not making more of a fuss at the time. read more

CRAZY there's a semi-dive bar considering the westerly-adjoining neighborhood. That said, their chile cheese fries are as good as anything you'd find in New Mexico. They make their own chile. Located in the Country Club Corners shopping center, they're one of several nice establishments, and with a pleasant staff. The Hatch Cover also has pool tables if you need extracurricular activity. Always a good dinner. Lots of TVs for the sports minded, and the place was filled with football fans tonight, so lots of screaming. very jovial. Had the grinder, wings, and the stuffed mushrooms are the highlight. Service is fast and friendly. There's a pool table. Haven't been upstairs since the late 80s but I'm sure it's more of the same. Really fun bar/restaurant with a great atmosphere and speedy, very friendly service. The food was mostly delicious with one miss. This was our first visit so we ordered a variety of items. We started with an appetizer sampler including onion rings, fried mushrooms, and fried zucchini. All three were very tasty and served piping hot with cool Ranch for dipping. My wife ordered a soup/salad combo with French Onion soup. The soup was the only thing that wasn't great. Seemed way too salty. But her salad was great. The moment we mentioned the salty soup, our server cheerfully said he'd comp the soup. I ordered a 10-piece medium hot wings. The bone-in wings were delicious and adequately spicy. Just right. Just a lot to eat for me. I'd have been happier with 5 wings, but I get that it's a shareable size. I also ordered a bowl of green chili. It was really good. Great heat. But, just wasn't exactly what I expected. I think I'm still learning about what I want in a bowl of green chili. All in all, it was a great first visit. I came over Memorial Day weekend after a wedding on Sunday. Obviously, Sunday night doesn't have a lot of options for bars, but Hatch Cover worked out great. The drinks were pretty reasonable and the vibes were great. They had karaoke upstairs, and I can't say no to the microphone. We had a lot of fun and ended up closing out the bar. It had been quite awhile since I'd been to The Hatch Cover. The place hasn't changed which has its pros and cons. This is a working class type joint, complete with pool tables, electronic gaming and a juke box. Spacious enough to keep it from feeling divvy. The food prices are super fair! $5.49 for a basket of cross-cut fries and onion rings and the highlight of our meal. I'll take it. The club sandwich/green chile combo was $8.99, a steal but not great. The club was ok, the green chile just seemed like warmed up salsa not something thoughtfully made. The Hubcap Sandwich was as big as the plate it came out on. It was truly monstrous and had to be eaten with a knife and fork. It tasted good but could come with a sauce or two for dipping. We were there at lunch time and the restaurant was not adequately staffed. It seemed that one server was taking care of the entire place. This led for a simple lunch taking over an hour. Beer and happy hour pricing looked great. Overall our meal and experience was just pretty "eh". read more

Wow... so disappointing after we ventured out to the Broadmoor Arts Festival today. Decided to hit the Hatch Cover again after a trip last year and the atmosphere was a bit off. We did enjoy the cold crisp beer but we decided to keep it simple with the pub fries. They were large waffle fries scattered on a half sheet and doused with Cojack cheese and crispy bacon with a side of sour cream. We were hopeful but the dish lacked flavor so we asked a server for some jalapeños to add to the dish. Crazy as the jalapeños were a $1.00 add to the dish for a small condiment sized cup! Anyways, we loved the Hatch Cover when we lived at Autumn Heights apartments years ago and did enjoy the wings last year... After today's trip and the overall state of the restrooms, we won't be back! read more

Been known to front load the tab an extra 5 to 10 bucks. Lately they don't give you a receipt and verbally tell you that will be the amount. Always ask for a printed receipt . They may bring you something extra that did not order and add that to the bill. They may bring you a mixed drink in a pint glass instead of a normal cocktail glass and say " Oh i thought you wanted a Double" ... add it to the bill. Be clear on what you are ordering and what you get and double check the receipt. read more

This is your typical bar. I would recommend going to the 2nd floor for less of a crowd. Wings are cheap and good, Calamari is definitely not worth it because the portion is crazy small for $8.50, Chicken Alfredo is a bit too pricey for my taste, Fish Sandwich was nice and crunchy, and the Hubcap was the star of the show. The sheer size of the pork tenderloin is insane and an experience in itself. But about halfway through, the unhealthiness of the meal makes you feel kinda gross. The first few bites tasted good though lol. The waffle fries were super yummy! Given the choice, I wouldn't come back here, but it was a nice one-time experience. Staff members are helpful and responsive to requests; overall environment is laid back. Pool tables and darts are nice, although the availability of the latter can be limited due to private parties in the room housing the dart boards. The food is subpar at best. For instance, the first time I ordered wings, they cooked them so long that they broke into pieces after being bitten. The next time I ordered wings they were properly cooked, but the wings lacked any flavor whatsoever. The beer and wine selections are adequate though. In the end, not a bad place for socializing and playing a few games while having a beer. Just avoid the food and grab something to eat on the way home...you'll be better off. read more

This could honestly be a decent review bc the good is pretty good, but it has some of the worst service I've experienced. We've been 7 times and had to leave three due to sitting and waiting over 15 minutes and not getting served. Two of those times the waiter and waitress walked by several times and served tables around us but never acknowledged us. Of the other three times we did get served, only once was the service good. It's sad bc they have some of the best cheddar pub fries and wings I've had in the area. The burgers are decent. And the chicken tinders are great. I really don't understand why the service is completely horrible. read more

My first and last time coming to this restaurant. I can't believe they would serve someone chicken like this. I don't know, maybe, they just don't know how to cook? My chicken wings were literally dropped in the frying oil and just thrown a sprinkle of lemon pepper spice on it. The chicken was so unseasoned The bleu cheese could not help mask the blandness. I'm extremely dissatisfied by the quality of the food. I can say at least the fries were fresh, crisp and delicious. My sweet tea was nowhere near sweet at all. The service was OK, saw our waiter about 3 times, and 2 of the times were to place an order and then give us our checks. She seemed a bit overwhelmed or just not interested at the time. I had to go somewhere else and pick up take out. Please make sure they season the chicken before frying it. We both really enjoyed our meals. The Hubcap is a huge fried breaded pork tenderloin on a toasted bun. It was pretty thin, yet huge and tasty. I took half home. The Waffle Fries were okay. I'd prefer them a bit crisper. My wife's Mushroom Swiss Burger was also large and tasty. The Onion Rings were VERY good! We took half her meal home too :) The beers were great too. They had Lefthand Milk Stout on tap. Yum! Tommy our server was great. Fun and very helpful with food critiques and that helped guide our choices. The vibe here is bar-like. Great music albeit loud.
