Only went to grab a beer and a basket of fries but you know how the story ends! We started with a Blue Moon and I tried a taster of Big Sky Huckleberry Blonde! The Blonde was super delish! Thanks to Shawna our server for the recommendation. Couldn't order just a basket of fries so we ordered some wings extra crispy mango habanero. As always they were perfectly cooked and everything was piping hot! Had to finish with an ice cold Coors Light and headed home for the afternoon! Solid sports bar in Monument! Lots of TVs for all of your sports-viewing needs. I got the Kickin Cubano sandwich, which has a house smoked pork loin, capicola, melted smoked Gouda, banana peppers, pickles, and house made beer mustard on a hoagie. The bread is on the flatter side, but it was the perfect ratio of bread to filling ingredients for me. The highlight of my meal was their tater tots, which were so well seasoned and crispy in comparison to your usual cookie cutter tater tots (not sure if they are house made). It did take a while for our food to come out, but it seemed to be a pretty busy night for them, and the food was well worth the wait. read more

We went for dinner and looked at the menu ahead of time. Their online menu showed they had several gluten-free options, which was great as I have celiac. When we got there, we were informed that the gluten-free options are not truly gluten-free due to crossing contamination with flour in their kitchen and their fryers not being separate from foods that are deep-fried with gluten. My wife has eaten there before and really enjoyed the sandwich she got so this is no knock on their food. Just a note that if you're going there in the future, looking for gluten-free items, they don't truly have a gluten-free menu. It's more like gluten friendly. read more

Wonderful every time. I think they only hire runner-up from the Miss Colorado contest. Although it is called a "bar" that isn't the vibe. They have plenty of big screen TVs but no volume so you can carry on a normal conversation. The food is incredible as they put their own twist on dishes. The green chili is top drawer. Great Sports Bar, great food, great drinks, but the BEST part are the Back East Staff. Cheryl & Sammy run the bar like clockwork, and really make an excellent first impression! As do all the staff. Always smiling, accommodating and they really take time to get to know their regulars. It feels like home; warm & welcoming! Back East has a ton of seating, high tops, tables, outdoor patio & large horseshoe bar with rotating craft beers. Plenty of TVs, great for watching your fave game with a group of friends. They also have e-darts, and offer karaoke & trivia nights (get there early it fills up fast)! And CLEAN bathrooms!! (Important)! LOL! Their house made pizza is literally the best in town, their salads are fresh and very generously portioned, their fish & chips is the best I've tasted since I was in the UK, and they offer a crazy selection of hot or cold sandwiches and burgers, something for everyone for sure! Our go to, super casual, sit down in Monument. A little of everything on the menu to please everyone. Favorite is green chili over waffle fries. Their Rueben is awesome!! Fish n chips is always good and a big serving. Wings are top notch! Tried the new Asian Noodle bowl tonight and it was good... very spicy and heavy on the sauce but good. Steak salad is yummy. Hubby liked the Sriracha Mac n cheese. Mixed drinks are worth getting! Staff is ALWAYS friendly!! read more

We have ordered many things form this establishment and have gone here for years. The last couple years it has steadily gone down hill with us waiting over an hour for pizza to various other things. Tonight took the cake, the back east bread came out with sausage on it and I told the server very nicely I didn't order sausage so he took it and when it came back out I had no words. They literally took the sausage off the top and did not replace any of the cheese that they scraped along with it so we essentially got bread with little cheese. Then when my bill came out I had a discount on it and my first thought was thank god they saw what they did... nope, just didn't have me pay for the sausage. I'm happy to show a picture as well. I think this place was just OK. We went here after 7pm and had a party of 6. The atmosphere is loud, can't really have a conversation without yelling. Lots of tvs but they are all pretty small for a sports bar. The fish sandwich wasn't anything special and the tater tots are a hard pass. One bit of advice on that front, buy a bag of frozen tots and call it good. Whatever you're severing, those are not tater tots. Over cooked crumbs of something that got deep fried is what that would be called. The waitress wasn't very attentive but then again they looked short staffed as there were tables that needed bussing and they didn't look like they had coverage. The best Fried fish & Chips we have found in The Springs. Their sandwiches are stacked high, it's a friendly environment, their specials are delicious, and there are actually three locations that you can get those fish and chips at. This owner has Backeast in Monument, one on Briargate at Union, and also owns Abbys Irish Pub on Powers at Briargate. Hubby and I discovered this through a neighbor, when we first moved here. Looking for a neighborhood sports bar and I'll my girlfriends and I go to one of the locations at least a couple times a month for our GNO. The food was reasonably good and the service was outstanding for a Friday night. We ordered fish and chips and the shrimp. Spicy Fries were excellent, fried fish good and shrimp horrible. We also ordered some calamari as an appetizer and it was undercooked. The beer was cold and the ambiance was very very noisy... and this was before the band started playing. The local sports bar with generous bar food doesn't disappoint. I tried the Colorado Burger with grilled onions, queso blanco, and bacon on a pretzel roll (on the side to share at home). This was creamy and delicious, though the onions weren't carmelized but warmed to limpness. The bacon was crispy and 2 slices generous. Not the best experience. First night in Colorado Springs we decided to try out Back East. Place was not too busy and sat down very quickly. Ordered a appetizer (Chicken Quesadilla) and drinks. Drinks came quickly. The quesadilla had chicken bones in it. My girlfriend kept pulling them out of her mouth. We stopped eating it. Food took a little longer and in the mean time my drink was empty for a good 20 mins. I had the Colorado Burger and she had the Turkey Bacon Avocado sandwich. My burger was solid. I gave it a 7.8. She rated her sandwich a 8.5. The burger and sandwich were good. Quesadilla was not edible. Service was bellow average Back east was okay but could be great Overall 2.5/5 read more

I don't usually have high expectations for bar food, just have good wings and I'm happy. BUT, this place has amazing food. Amazing. I could not believe the flavor explosions in their dishes. I was ultra happy with the mango habanero wings - super crunchy on the outside while juicy on the inside with a sweet but spicy sauce. I love how it was a perfect balance between sweet and spicy, not too much of one or the other. My boyfriend got The Colorado sandwich with grilled chicken and a side of waffle fries and I was honestly jealous of him when I took a bite. Absolutely amazing flavor between the smokiness of the chicken, the very melty queso blanco, and the bacon. It gave off such a southwestern flavor profile that I love. We eventually got the bartender to give us our check and we headed out. No food or additional drinks to speak of. I was disappointed. They have a lot of seating inside and plenty of TVs.
