Sadly, this cool spot only had one local brew available. Cool spot, but showcase your Aspen beer!

This place was great. Very cool spot next to the airport, full bar and really neat venue. Rustic mixed with modern industrial. I dig it. Alright, good. Our party tried the Burger (fantastic), protein bowl (good), and the New Mexico Green *Chile. I say "Chile" because I'm from New Mexico and that is how you spell Chile. "Chili" is like Texas chili beans. So it bugs me when restaurants say "New Mexico" but then misspell Chile. lol We also had the wings, which were my personal favorite. Crispy and seasoned perfectly. Anyway, everything was good. The green "chili" was ok, really strong cilantro and smoky flavor, but not the normal cup of Chile. The protein bowl was tasty, nothing out of this world. The burger was the real winner though. Burger was cooked perfectly, fries were very good. This is Aspen, so expect Aspen prices. $7 for my beer which I thought was a little steep for being off the main strip of Aspen. Definitely check this place out!

I am normally a red sauce eater but the green (probably the weak Sendy) was really good. Not spicy but full of flavor. Service was excellent again. 1st visit: I've been in Colorado for nearly two weeks and this has probably been the best meal I've had so far, even after dining in Aspen (Clark's, Aspen Public House) and Boulder (Flagstaff, the Kitchen American Bistro). I love chorizo tacos and the ones here served with potatoes and fried egg with a side of chips and salsa was one of the best I've ever had and I think that's says a lot after living a lifetime in Texas. The hot dog was flavorful and probably a foot long. It was served with lightly salted french fries that reminded me if the ones my mom used to make me. The Bloody Mary was also very good and slightly spicy although it was only garnished with a lime and no olives. The place is very small, seats maybe a couple of dozen indoors but there is also outdoor seating. Service was very friendly.

The biggest drawbacks were the lack of convenient parking, the small dining area, and the absence of air conditioning, which would have made sitting indoors on a warm day less comfortable. Much of the available seating is located in the nearby public park, which serves as an extension of the restaurant's dining space. While that setup may not appeal to everyone, it does provide a pleasant outdoor atmosphere and a great place to enjoy your meal when the weather cooperates. Service was adequate but not particularly memorable. One small annoyance was having to retrieve napkins from the self-service station, as none were provided when the food was delivered. Overall, the quality and creativity of the food outweighed the logistical inconveniences, making Slope & Hatch a worthwhile stop in Glenwood Springs.

If Tacos El Rey in Meeker isn't on your bucket list, fix that immediately…read more This isn't "just tacos." This is a full-body spiritual experience disguised as a walk-up log cabin with a drive-thru vibe. The second we pulled up, the wind was disrespectful, the weather was rude, but nothing -- NOTHING -- could prepare us for the emotional support meal that was about to unfold. We ended up eating in the truck like it was an old-school family drive-in movie night, and honestly it added to the magic. Let's talk food, because my soul is still recovering: Quesabirria Tacos The cheese pulls?? VISCERAL. Cinematic. So dramatic they deserve their own soundtrack. The consomé is the kind of broth that makes you rethink your life choices and consider dedicating your firstborn to birria. Rich, tangy, savory, perfect heat -- this is peak comfort food. Birria Ramen This bowl hugged me harder than my therapist. The flavor hits layers you didn't even know your tongue had. Tang, spice, umami, cozy, comforting -- it's basically legal emotional support. Chorizo Tacos My husband went SILENT. Like... spiritually-transported-to-memaw's-kitchen silent. Authentic, perfectly seasoned, slightly crispy edges. This is the chorizo other chorizos hope to be when they grow up. Cali Burrito This burrito is not a meal. It is a COMMITMENT. A relationship. A weighted blanket in food form. Fresh homemade guacamole, huge portions, cooked-to-perfection fillings -- every bite slapped. Stuffed Churros I saw God. Crunchy exterior, warm dulce-de-leche-meets-caramel filling inside... these are illegal in 13 dimensions. If you don't order these, you played yourself. SERVICE: The two men working deserve a trophy. Patient, kind, friendly -- they calmly watched us spiral while deciding what to order, then supported our decision to basically order the entire menu. Professional, warm, and clearly proud of their food. Service like this is rare. AMBIANCE: Log cabin realness. Walk-up window. Drive-thru energy. Outdoor seating under an awning for nice days. Plenty of parking. On bad weather days? Eat in your truck like we did -- it just amplifies the nostalgia. If you need reasons to go: The food is life-changing The service is immaculate The vibes are peak small-town comfort The portions are not skimpy The flavors could bring a grown man to tears If you are within 500 miles: drive. If you're not: book the flight. This place is worth crossing state lines, climates, AND emotional boundaries. Tacos El Rey is a masterpiece. Period.

I came with my flight crew (just a couple of pilots in addition) and we just sat at the bar. I had the kale rotisserie chicken salad. The peanut dressing does have soy sauce so it is not gluten free, so they brought me a champagne vinaigrette instead. It was delicious. I got this during the cyclospora outbreak, because I'm a wild person now lol but they assured me they only get quality ingredients and super clean all veggies and fruit coming in. My pilots got the meatballs, creamed corn, and deviled eggs and they LOVED them.

They are pet friendly and have outdoor seating! Servers were very friendly although the serving can take a bit longer, depending on how busy they are. The French Dip came with lots of prime rib and a cup of Au jus, with horseradish to cut down on the heaviness. Crispy chicken sandwich was my favorite! It came sliced in three so the portion was massive. The chicken had more of a Japanese katsu style breading on it so it was super crispy. The burger was also a solid choice. Great bun to filling ratio and the spicy slaw was a complemented the burger well. The fries were pricey and I didn't realize that they weren't a side but an appetizer, but these fries were super crispy and delicious. You could tell that they were fried freshly on the spot. The creamy sauce it came with paired well with them! Deviled eggs were savory and had a kick from the pickle relish. This was my first time eating creamed corn and I liked it! It was warm and creamy, with a slight kick from the jalapeño slices.
