Great local hole in the wall tavern. There is quick local service with the waiter walking around. Plenty of seating and quick turnover. Large menu but varied and you could find something for everyone. Small beer menu and not much on tap. Prices are very reasonable for Aspen. 1. Wings - Large in size and flavorful. Not as crunchy as I'd like. 2. Flautas - Cut in half. Very good and filled with delicious chicken. Overall, a great spot to watch sports, get a beer or get some pub food. read more

Great dive bar in Aspen, CO of all places. Even though a little loud with the music and crowd, this is where the locals go in Aspen. Great menu, everything cooked on site. Fantastic little bar in Aspen with delicious food and good beer at an amazing price especially for Aspen. They have burgers, good selection of sandwiches (Philly cheesesteak), salads, fish n chips and wings with a nice assortment of flavors. I ordered wings and fries. Large basket of fries (a bit too salty but good) were good and the wings were 8.5/10. $17 for 12 wings in Aspen was great I thought. They also Guinness and it was poured properly and very tasty. The inside is cozy and very clean. I was there around 3pm on a Monday and easily got a seat. The 2 girls working were so so nice and very good servers - 10/10 service. They don't do too many mixed drinks and not a ton of beer selection but for a good beer and great food at a phenomenal price with A+ service definitely check it out! read more

Used to be good. Got really bad food poisoning twice but we returned and only ordered food that gets bombed like the wings. The problem is that there are new staff and one waitress in particular had an attitude, a really bad attitude. The girls from back in the day are awesome. I wish they were still working more shifts. This waitress really brings the place down. I do not recommend Zane's anymore. For a dive bar the charm is as the people and the staff. Recent changes have made this place crap. Owner. Get rid of the brunette. I am sure you are hearing this a lot. Lots of people in town are complaining about this. We don't go to Zane's anymore and I suggest you don't go. It's a shame but the place is crap now. Bring back the cool waitresses, one was from NJ. Do not go to Zane's. It's crap now. Stopped by for lunch while visiting Aspen and stumbled across this place. Wanted something casual and chill and this met that standard. Here are my takeaways Environment This is a casual, divey type sports bar located underground right in the heart of downtown Aspen. Seems like a ordinary local bar with a lot of regular customers. It's straight to the point and not much to it. Service My service was okay. The bartender helped me most of the time and was pretty attentive and friendly. However a server did come in and seemed to replace his role but decided not to serve me while serving every single other person in the small bar. She would literally walk right by me without checking on me. I didn't want to jump to conclusions but I was the only person of color in the bar and it was a bit odd that she checked on every single person in the bar except for me. Eventually the bartender came back around and i was able to get my bill and leave but I'm not sure what would have happened if he didn't come back around. Food and Drinks I had a simple burger and tater tots. No thrills but they got the job done and this food is a lot cheaper than most things you can get in Aspen. So if you're looking for something a little bit cheaper but pretty good this is your place. Overall This place has potential to be a great casual low key and down to earth place but I do have concerned that they can be some racial bias when it comes to service. This is the reason I give it two stars. It made me pretty uncomfortable and took away from the experience. Sad, just sad. Trent B., the waiter (who apparently was also the manager), was incredibly rude from the moment we walked in. My colleagues and I were visiting Aspen for a conference with the Aspen Institute and decided to stop by this restaurant. Unfortunately, our experience was ruined by Trent's unprofessional and nasty behavior. He became visibly upset about our tipping rate and, in a loud tone, said that we "sucked." When I calmly told him that gratitude goes a long way and that his comment was uncalled for, he began yelling at us, calling us "nerds" and demanding that we leave the property. Beyond those comments, he continued making rude and discriminatory remarks, saying that we acted like we "owned the place" and that we "weren't from here" and should "go back to where we came from." Considering the heavy history of Aspen, Colorado, for a white man to say those comments is deeply xenophobic. This was incredibly disappointing, especially since the Aspen Institute brings people from across the country, providing local businesses with customers and visibility during the off-season. We did not expect this level of disrespect from an Aspen establishment, especially when every other business we visited was warm, welcoming, and professional. Lastly, the food was good, but unfortunately, the service was the complete opposite. read more

This review is based solely on the food and not the service as we ordered pickup and did not dine in. The nacho chips are overcooked and dry with absolutely no seasoning. The cheese was good, but the rest of toppings tasted like they came out of a can and were not fresh at all. My boyfriend ordered the burger and fries. I was staying in Aspen a night and didn't want anything gourmet with a hefty price tag so I popped into Zane's to watch the MLB playoffs over a bite. It's a little bit hard to spot off the street as it's down some steps. I was able to get a spot on the street right in front on a Tuesday night and snagged an open seat at the bar right away. It was pretty full during the dinner rush. There's a small bar with 8 or so seats, and some other 2-4 top tables. It's an odd space and feels a bit cramped inside. Kind of hard to see the TV's from the bar and certain tables. Definitely an Eagles bar from the decor, and the cheesesteaks were a hot seller. Bartender confirmed the fish and chips were good so I went with those. The batter was nice, not too heavy, but neither the batter nor the fish really had any flavor, so it tasted like fried air coated in tartar sauce. Decent portion of fries which were so-so. I got a couple overpriced Bud Light bottles as well. The bartenders were busy so service was spotty and not overly friendly. You could probably do worse, but not a place I'd be eager to come back to unless I was from Philly. read more

Yay! So happy to have found affordable dinner in a fun atmosphere in Aspen. Reasonably priced beer, good seating, and food came fast. Between two nights and a big group, we tried a lot of the menu and everyone was satisfied with everything! Highly recommend the appetizers- wings, mozz sticks, and Philly egg rolls were SO good. I think I've gotten poisoned at least twice since I've gone and ate there the food is never any good to eat. The tacos weren't too bad but the salsa sucks. Burger absolutely sucks. I am not sure whether to be happy or sad on the mixed reviews. I am not local to Aspen but was generally not in the mood for all the posh restaurants and snotty attitudes one must endue. This was my first visit to Aspen, I have stayed away for the 20+ years I have been skiing because I was concerned it may have too much attitude. It was far better, more beautiful and worth the trip. Sure there are fancy stores, fancy people and a good amount of attitude but the good news is most of these people are not skiing and I have no interest of going where they do. Cut to Zane's Tavern. The good is great, the atmosphere is perfect, unless you are looking for a fancy meal, which I am not, the service was the best. Our waitress rocked that place. She served the entire room, by herself and did a cranking job. I am happy for the mixed reviews because I do not want word to get out. Sad because this place is perfect and they deserve better reviews. Stick to what a place like this would do well, pub food and do yourself a favor, if you are thinking why am I trying a Philly cheesesteak in Aspen, think again, they do a great job, someone there is from Philly, and other than Philly, this is one of the best cheesesteaks I have had. This is basically just a standard dive/sports bar, but what makes it cool is that it's in the middle of Aspen where it's hard to find any store or restaurant that wouldn't be $$$$ on Yelp. They have some pretty good bar food too, the wings and burgers definitely hit the spot. The kitchen is also open until midnight which is crazy for Aspen, most of the other places in town stop serving by 9 or 10 at the latest. Overall, it probably won't blow anyone away but it's still nice to have a "normal" option in town when you just want to watch a football game and have a few beers without breaking the bank. read more

Owner or manager, this one is for you: The place is full, people ordering drinks and food, why on Earth does an establishment have one person serving and making drinks and one person cooking food in a full establishment? My friends wanted to stop somewhere to watch a football game, so we stopped here. The place is pretty sparse before the game. I ordered french fries & nachos and my friends got a cheese steak and mac & cheese egg rolls. They didn't appear to have a lot of beers on tap, so I just got a Stella Artois. The bar started filling up with people watching the baseball game, and we asked to have one of the televisions turned to the football game which the staff didn't appear to really like. Nonetheless the TV was changed and my friends were able to watch the football game. There are about 6 to 10 TVs overall scattered around the bar. The nachos were typical bar food and were kind of wet. The fries were good though and so was the beer. There is only one unisex bathroom, and it's really clean.
