2nd visit: came again because I knew the food would be good. Got the chorizo tacos, just as delicious as the first time. I am normally a red sauce eater but the green (probably the weak Sendy) was really good. Not spicy but full of flavor. Service was excellent again. 1st visit: I've been in Colorado for nearly two weeks and this has probably been the best meal I've had so far, even after dining in Aspen (Clark's, Aspen Public House) and Boulder (Flagstaff, the Kitchen American Bistro). I love chorizo tacos and the ones here served with potatoes and fried egg with a side of chips and salsa was one of the best I've ever had and I think that's says a lot after living a lifetime in Texas. The hot dog was flavorful and probably a foot long. It was served with lightly salted french fries that reminded me if the ones my mom used to make me. The Bloody Mary was also very good and slightly spicy although it was only garnished with a lime and no olives. We ordered a plain hotdog it tastes like it was fried. It was ok. 5-8min wait $12. Space is chill. I mean it hits the hot dog craving.. but not the best and maybe not worth $12 tbh . Slope & Hatch is definitely worth the stop if you're in the area. The fish tacos were easily the best I've had in the mountains -- light and cooked perfectly. We also tried the asada tacos, which were really good too. The mini coronas complimented the meal perfectly. The restaurant itself is pretty small with limited seating, so finding a table can be tough during busy hours. There's a lot of seating under the bridge outside! Service was just okay, but the food comes out quickly and the place moves fast. There's usually a crowd, and after eating here, it's easy to see why. Top best things I ever ate! I had to hurry up and write this because this place absolutely cannot be forgotten. We were blown away. It's a tiny little spot with very limited indoor seating (there is outdoor seating, but in freezing weather it's not ideal). Even so, if there's no room inside, get it to go - it is 100% worth it. Whenever I'm visiting,, I like to dig into top-rated and hidden foodie gems. We hit about four this time, and this one stood out by far. We ordered the chimichurri beef and BBQ brisket tacos, and they were huge and absolutely incredible. I can't say enough about the flavor in every bite. The portions are massive - one entree could easily be split between two people with a small app. The salsa selection was great, the chips that come with the entree were delicious, and the fries... honestly, the fries were so good- I can't get over them. Actually, I can't get over the tacos either. I'm already sad knowing I'll be craving them until the next time I make it back to Glenwood. We tried the beef with chimichurri and the fried fish tacos. Both were excellent and I'd order either again. I'd probably give the edge to the steak, but it's close! I don't think it needed the egg. My daughter had the kids hotdog with fries. The fries were pretty good but cold. I had the Paloma and hubs had the margarita. They were good. Love stopping here when we're in Glenwood Springs! Always worth the wait. Hubby and I split two orders of the BBQ Brisket and Curried Lamb. We were pretty disappointed and surprised after seeing the reviews. We weren't greeted upon arrival and the person who took our order was unhelpful at best. There was no offer of service and we felt treated like dummies for not realizing water was self-serve. It isn't everywhere so maybe some gentle direction is appropriate. The one positive was my kid asked for light cheese on their quesadilla and it was brought out just so. The food was lackluster with the only bright spot being the sauces! The pineapple salsa, the avocado-ish dip, and the sauce that came with the shrimp tacos were all outstanding! We also got queso (which was buttery somehow? not great though) and fries (which were surprisingly solid and felt like burger fries). Seating is tight and we were just 4 of us but it's a cozy spot. Really glad we stopped in here! Had time for lunch before a hike and decided to try Slope and Hatch. It's pretty small, with tables lining the sides but it was packed when we arrived so we found some public tables a hundred or so yards away. I didn't love the way the tacos looked when i looked around at peoples plates so i decided to try the curry lamb fries and I'm soo glad i did. They were incredible. The lamb is so tender and the curry had such authentic flavors, i loved the textures against the crispiness of the fries. My friends tried the hot dogs and were raving about them. Alright, I saw this was one of highest rated places in Glenwood Springs but their menu looked... different so I wasn't sure. However, I was wrong and this was delicious. I don't say this lightly or without significant consideration... but these may have been the best tacos I've ever had in my life!!!! The flavors were absolutely exquisite and unique. The toppings were carefully picked and specifically chosen for each taco. I can't even begin to explain how great everything was. And the lamb... so tender and fresh! The local hot sauces were also a nice touch. The space was inviting (but small), although not a problem what so ever because the food comes out so quickly everyone is in and out. My friend and I came here after some hiking. The place was recommended by a local. We opted for some tacos and some nachos. The chimichurri beef tacos, shrimp lo boy tacos and the brisket nachos. My least favorite was the sweet bbq ok the brisket. The chimichurri beef tacos were well seasoned, beef was juicy and tender our favorite for sure. The shrimp po boys tacos got too soggy since we took them to go. It just came with too much coleslaw and thats why even the tortilla got super soggy. I would definitely eat those there instead if I could. My recommendation is the chimichurri tacos for sure! Price is a little steep in my opinion but it's worth giving it a try at least once if you're in the area. read more

Service is excellent. Food is ok- without trying to be rude, it lacks flavor. The crispy calamari was my favorite, however disappointed with the margarita shrimp tacos. Not stroller friendly or wheelchair accessible. You need to go up a few stairs to enter in order to place your order- besides this it is a tight fit inside. Unless you are lucky to find a table outside, I would recommend taking your food to go- especially if you are with kids. Calamari tacos just absolutely swimming in a lake of sweet chili sauce. Soaked into the calamari & cabbage, tortilla glued to the paper in the bottom of the basket by it. I've walked past this spot probably 100 times and finally decided to try it. We probably picked a bad time because it was peak lunch time and the line was to the door with every seat taken. We weren't in a rush and we figured that was a good sign, so we waited in line, which moved quickly. I ordered the Margarita Grilled Shrimp Tacos and my colleague orders the Crispy Fish Taco, which both included chips and salsa. I was leaning towards trying one of their hot dog creations but they had a sign up that said they were out of all hot dogs, which is about half of their menu. The food arrived quickly and the service was friendly. We didn't have any major complaints about the tacos but I did feel it was very messy as the toppings were runny/dripping all over. I probably would have preferred corn tortillas but didn't know that was an option until I saw the lady next to me with some. The tacos didn't have as much of a flavor explosion as I expected with how amazing all of the ingredients sounded. They weren't bad but I felt like I wanted more flavor. The salsa was pretty tasty and had the perfect amount of kick. They have a full bar with lots of beer/cocktails on the menu. This seems to slow the line down a little bit because you're ordering at the counter/bar and the only other front of the house employee is running food and cleaning tables.
