They sent a kid who tells me the issue may be a cracked heat exchange & carbon monoxide leaking because I told him I had gotten dizzy before he arrived. Instead of telling me at that point he doesn't have the proper equipment to detect a CO leak he runs out to his work truck several times looking for equipment he knew he did not have. When he finally comes clean about not having the equipment he needs, he says for me to call the Fire Dept. because they have the equipment. I'm foolishly thinking YOU ARE A HEATING REPAIR COMPANY if you don't have the equipment someone in your company should right? WRONG!! I called the owner who tells me they tell all of their customers in an instance like this to call the Fire Dept. Owner proceeds to say, because the kid drove here, spent 45 minutes removing screws which he should not have & feeding a camera with as the kid put it, "not very good picture" in the furnace he earned the fee. Kid told me furnace had rust. I had to call a reputable company and the Fire Dept. who both confirmed no CO. Real repair guy says there is no crack and showed me pictures of inside furnace with NO RUST. Thank God furnace is running properly. Not only did these guys make off with $141 of my money but had nerve to say once Fire Dept. comes out call them back, here is your call back!!!

I called 3-4 HVAC companies and Matt Struven, owner of Struven heating, was the only one to come out quickly and followed up with me a couple times while the other companies were taking their time getting me quotes. Again, we didn't have time to waste as the weather was below freezing. Matt got everything scheduled -- from ordering the new furnace to arranging the crane and flatbed to getting the permits from the city. Again, all of this during a week when a lot of people are out for the holidays. He replaced the rooftop furnace the morning of NYE. Matt is very professional, thorough, knows his stuff, is on time, gave good pricing, and left the jobsite clean.

Over the course of a year they sent out 9 different technicians to try and fix it. I got so tired of their inability and unwillingness to fix the unit they installed that I reached out to Struven to see if they could identify the problem. After one visit, the Struven rep Matt gave me four different problems that the original company caused when they incorrectly installed the unit. I brought the original company back out and gave them the recommendations from the Struven rep and Presto--problem solved! I should have gone with Struven from the beginning. They are professional, competent, and we're genuinely concerned with helping me fix my problem.
