I'm not a Vermontian (Vermontite?) so I can only observe as one from a place where it's hard to find quality anything, art/health/positive lifestyle are not often priority, and encountering genuine strong community connection feels so rare that it feels like magic when it happens. THAT SAID - this place being my first stop in Vermont really set the stage for pretty much the total opposite of everything I'm accustomed to (and next several days in the state passed the vibe check too!). It was wonderful to see so many healthy options inclusive of all types of dietary needs, as well as wide variety of locally sourced produce, ingredients, packaged goods, sauces, and more. Flowers/bouquets for sale in various parts of the store is a lovely touch! Had to smile each time I passed them. Everyone was so friendly and seemed brimming with enthusiasm and joy each time one person ran into another. I don't know if everyone *really* knew each other, but they all gave off an energy that they were so happy to cross paths and were all old friends. This being my first stop upon crossing state lines had me in such an inspired mindset for the weekend I even made a little walkthrough tour TikTok, and one day hopefully soon it will adventure its way out of the drafts. Oh! Thank you for showcasing local artists and events outside, too. And having a community garden?! I could go on and on...

    a sign for everyone welcome

I have family in VT but have never been able to stop by this Co-op. Many Co-op's don't allow the general public, however, the Putney Food Co-op does! If you live in town you can secure a membership card by volunteering. The prices are fantastic even for a non member. I stopped at their deli and got a Ruben ($9.99) and also, "made my own sandwich (starting at $9.99)". Not only was the service fantastic, but the food was incredible. Fresh, large portions, and delicious. The Co-op itself is lovely and has so much to offer. Old school ambiance. If you're in the area, you should definitely stop in!!

Fresh made sandwiches that you can order ahead and a nice little market attached as well. Beer selection was kind of small

The July 4th barbecue was great!! The ribs were melting off the bone and the mustard sauce was exciting.

Only thing is how tight the location is. The products are great. Fresh local foods. Just wish it were slightly larger.

What a wonderful person. She's friendly, helpful and will answer any questions you have. They have a great selection of beer and wine and chilled options available. In addition, they have a case of front with local cheeses and cured meats. The store is in an older house and has a ton of character; wood floors, exposes beams, shelving and racks that fit the style of the house. Give this place a try. It's local, Betsy is fantastic and they have a wonderful selection. The epitome of a wonderful local business.

Being from California, I am spoiled with great wineries and micro-breweries, so when I say this place satisfies, believe it. Besides the great wine and beer, the folks that work here treat you like family. This year I met Kingston and his knowledge of beer is inspiring and his enthusiasm is infectious. He listens and cares about more than just what you are buying. Thanks Kingston. If you have a special occasion, like my in-laws 50th wedding anniversary this year, or an easy and inexpensive weekend at the lake with a friend, you can find wine for both. The 4-pack beers are unique and represent the area and just beyond in a thoughtful way. Stopping here is a must if you want to make it count. And definitely pick up some of their charcuterie ... see what I mean!?

Christian greeted us nicely and recommended certain ways of doing tastings and specs of each. He chatted while making bar menu cocktails for other guests. We each selected a regular flight and a reserve flight to try all their spirit options that we thought interesting. I can't say enough about how very impressed I am with the quality of the bourbons produced here. The double barrel bourbon, a maple bourbon and & a maple rye were all excellent choices on the regular flight menu. I also appreciated Perk coffee liqueur & the flavors and complexity of the Snowdrop gin. ($5 flight) On the reserve flight, friends chose the 15 year angel bourbon, 12 year rye reserve, aged snowdrop gin, and the vineyard rye full strength. ($12 flight) Really can't say enough about the quality that is offered here! Plus the facilities are inviting and I'd enjoy a day on the patio or to hear some music some afternoon, it's a great spot. I highly recommend a stop and purchase here! Cheers.

Food- 4/5 Overall experience- 5/5…read more It was a fun spot to stop at to break up our drive back to Boston. The lot was small but many people were coming in and out so we didn't have to wait long to get a parking spot or outdoor seating. There are two shops: the deli and market with different vibes and items inside. The market is a quick shop with some snacks, drinks, coffee, and knickknacks. The deli is where the hot/cooked foods are at with some other specialty foods. The food was overall ok, nothing noteworthy. The main attraction is their Mac and cheese that had been circulating my IG feed. Don't think it's life changing but the shops have curated selections of local goods that are reasonable priced to get some last minute treats. Pass on the general tso(?) and the potstickers in my opinion unless you're really craving it. The desserts looked amazing and would definitely get one next time

We were able to get a spot in front with no issue, but I imagine that this was because it was a week day. We chose the Mac and cheese and the maple pulled pork. Both were worth the hype in my opinion. The mac and cheese was super creamy and paired well with the tender pulled pork. The baked goods were nothing to write home about. Maybe we just chose the wrong items? We tried: Oatmeal cookie - good, but not amazing. Chocolate chunk/ peanut butter cookie - stale as heck and basically inedible. I always am leery of saran wrapped cookies that are out on display because its impossible to know if there are actually fresh. The giant stacks of cookies were too enticing to pass up on. The chocolate cookie we purchased was definitely not fresh at all. $3.29 down the tubes - lesson on saran wrapped cookies learned (again). Carrot cake whoopie pie and original whoopie pie - both tasty, but the cake was too thick for my personal liking. We sat in the small outdoor seating area to eat. This was a nice little reprieve from the car ride.
