Drive slow, not need to ruin your car, the road is a bit rough when you start going deep into the nursery. Frankie's is on the Windward side, but basically in the mountains. You really need to know where you are going, it's most definitely off the beaten path. Cell reception starts to get much weaker... almost non existent. There are a healthy variety of plants for you to purchase, Frankie's is after all a nursery. But the main focus of this trip was to try the exotic fruits. They sell a variety of exotic fruits from around the world. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly and will gladly tell you about the fruits. They do have cut fruit platters for you to try, just make sure you bring a cooler bag, it's a journey onto itself to get here. There are few picnic tables in the back for you to enjoy fresh fruits, along with a hand washing station and a restroom. #ExoticFruits: ~ BLACK SAPOTE topped off with Whipped Cream - 5/5 Amazing. Open from 8am-12pm, every Sunday. There's a parking lot right after the intersection. You'll see security guards at the front. From the road, you'll see many white tents all lined up, making it appear to be a huge farmers market with many vendors. There wasn't as many vendors as I imagined, but a decent amount with two rows with roughly 25 or so total. Almost all the vendors were selling food or homemade items with only two selling produce. There were several unique food items that looked appealing, but I wasn't here for that. Overall, a solid farmer's market to grab food. Everything was neat and organized. It also had covered eating area and musicians performing that added to the ambiance.

As…read moremany malls have various scheduled events Ala Moana for it's location and size does seem to fall flat in that part of the community was a delighted to see Mahiku Farmers Market making its presence every Tuesday from 3pm-7pm on the Mall Level right outside Target in the Mauka Wing. Farmers Market unlike more popular craft fairs is another great venue to support and bring in small local businesses as the combination of this makes it a great convenience in our busy lives to get that something either a snack for that retail therapy refuel, quench your thirst or just that special find I almost got for myself. The rough start is that there was just a handful of vendors...less than ten...sob! It was quite depressing and hope that it will grow as it gets to be a familiar thing as they used to be at the International Marketplace you can find Mahiku Farmer Market and at Hyatt Regency Waikiki, Waikele Premium Outlets, Mililani Shopping Center and Kapilina Beach Homes in Ewa. They don't do very much social media so knowing their locations are difficult but I do have hope for Ala Moana as the holiday approaches as any additional choices are very appreciated and welcome especially to support local. When I go to the farmers market or to a street vendor event I like to buy lemonade. Yesterday and…read moretoday, I was at Ford Island. Yesterday, it was for the Nagaoka fireworks display to commemorate the end of World War II. Today, it was for the Biggest Little Airshow. At both events I found 'Nalo Made Lemonade. They offer it in regular, pineapple, mango, strawberry, lilikoi and li hing. They only offer it in a 32 oz. mason jar. It's $7 and $4 for a refill when you bring back the jar. This is a better deal than Wow Wow Lemonade, which is the other lemonade vendor. They charge $10 initially, then $6 for the refill. I also prefer the 'Nalo Made Lemonade. It's not as watered down. It actually has a strong lemon flavor and it's not as tangy. I like the mango flavor and the hubby likes the lilikoi. The mango is just a tad bit sweeter, which is perfect for me. They also have two different stickers for their jars, which I found out today. The clear sticker jar is the girl and the black sticker is the boy.
