A really useful local supermarket in Waimānalo!…read more If you're passing through Waimānalo and need groceries, drinks, fresh produce, or some good local food, this is definitely a place worth checking out. I go here almost every day, and it's basically a little mini-supermarket with a lot more than you might expect. They have a meat section, fresh produce, herbs, and really good poke that you can get fresh or pre-frozen. If you like poke, definitely check out what they have available. One of my favorite things to grab is their French bread. It's usually right in a basket near the entrance, and when they have it, I definitely recommend grabbing one! They bake it fresh in the store three times a day. It's a good size, less than $4, and the ingredients are simple and clean. It's really yummy! They also have a great price on coconut water--about a quarter gallon for around $3--which I think is a really good deal. For people traveling with dogs, they also have several dog treats with simple, clean ingredients at reasonable prices. They have beach equipment at fair prices too, which is convenient if you're visiting Waimānalo and need something for the beach. There's also a Bank of Hawaiʻi ATM inside, and they offer cash back at the register, which is really convenient. The staff are always super kind and friendly. I've been going here almost every day, and I really appreciate the way they treat their customers. The location is convenient too, right by a 7-Eleven and the food supply store, so it's an easy stop when you're passing through Waimānalo. If you're looking for a local supermarket with groceries, poke, fresh bread, drinks, beach items, and other everyday necessities, I definitely recommend stopping in.

I understand some locals might not love tourists, this place certainly gave that vibe, but then maybe just don't be open for them? Found this place online and was in the area, decided to swing by thinking there will be lots of fruits to try. Specifically wanted to try honey cream pineapple. Came here on Saturday around noon and it was dead empty, visitors or owners. As we were slowly rolling in just trying to understand where to park, we got greeted by a man - well, he popped out of nowhere and pointed at the area where we can park. No smile, no hi, no nothing. Okay. We get out of the car, there is some walkable nursery territory where they sell plants and you can overlook the nearby hills, it's pretty. The fruit stand is small. When I asked about whether they had the pineapple I was looking for, just got "no." as a response. I was like okay, no biggie, what would you recommend to try then? The mix plate. It was pretty mush the only thing the guy had in their fridge, a $10 assortment plate. We paid cash, the guy pointed where we could sit, and evaporated. The plate was okay, however I wish there was some sort of indication of which fruit is which; and the guy who met us with such a cold vibe didn't show any desire to spend a second with us to explain anything, I mean he didn't even ask "how are you". I guessed maybe 5 fruits out of 13 that the plate had, the rest were mystery, some I liked and some I didn't. We left with a pretty bad aftertaste from this experience.

I think this is my favorite Farmers market on the island. It's at night so it's not super hot,…read morethere's a lot of parking, and it's not super overwhelming with so many vendors. This Farmers Market is held every Tuesday at Kaiser High School parking lot from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. You park on the same area and walk down to the vendors. I think there two rows of vendors. I really like this market also because they have a lot of Japanese food vendors. It was a little difficult to decide what to get for dinner. I got food from three different places. I got the takoyaki. You can get the original or you can get it with cheese. We went with the original. Then we got Nabeyaki udon and tempura bowl from another vendor. And at the last vendor we got a kakuni bowl. They were all decent prices and it was still nice and hot when we brought it home since we live so close. All of the food was good. For the Nabeyaki I had to make the broth they provided but it only took a few minutes. My husband liked the kakuni bowl and I think it was only $10. I will definitely be checking this place out again. I saw a lot of dessert places that I wanted to try too. I wanted to keep circling and checking out more places but my daughter kept telling me she had to go to the bathroom. If you come, I'd recommend you come early because some vendors were running out of things and most importantly, have your kids use the bathroom before.
